Al Malafronte is a New York native, and a lifelong student of both theatre and baseball. Whether he was playing Harold Hill or 3rd Base, the two passions have always been at the forefront. While he primarily chose a sports path after middle school, his love of theatre never wavered. He hosted a sports talk radio show titled ‘Sunday Sports with Al Mal,’ on 91.5 FM WHRT in Connecticut while attending college at Sacred Heart University.
Upon moving to Manhattan a few years after graduating, he grew frustrated by the stigma that sports and theatre seemed to live in such separate worlds, and set out to combine the two in the first baseball meets Broadway crossover podcast. Break a Bat! provides a platform for fans of either medium to hear stories and insight from their favorite performers, whether that be on a Broadway stage or Yankee Stadium.
