About

Anna Kendrick is an American actress who burst onto the scene at a young age. Born in Portland, Maine in 1985, she landed her first starring role on Broadway at just 12 years old in the musical High Society. This impressive performance earned her a Tony Award nomination, making her the second-youngest person ever to be recognized in that category.

Following her Broadway success, Kendrick transitioned to film. Her debut came in the 2003 musical comedy Camp, and she later gained wider recognition for her role in the blockbuster Twilight Saga (2008-2011). However, it was her performance in the 2009 dramedy Up in the Air that truly launched her into Hollywood stardom. The role earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Kendrick is perhaps best known for her comedic talents, which she showcased perfectly in the a cappella film series Pitch Perfect (2012-2017). Her energetic portrayal of Beca Mitchell resonated with audiences and solidified her status as a comedic leading lady.

Beyond acting, Kendrick is also a singer and songwriter. She has released several songs, some featured in movies like Pitch Perfect. She even wrote a book, Scrappy Little Nobody, which details her experiences in the entertainment industry.
