About

Miranda Ferriss Jones is a Vermont-born songwriter, theatrical storyteller, performer, and creativity/vocal coach whose work deeply explores themes of feminine identity and challenges societal binaries. With four original shows currently in development as of 2024, Miranda's work is making waves in the theatrical world. Her show The Precipice was developed in San Francisco with the support of Grateful Dead founding member Bob Weir and in collaboration with Dead & Co pianist Jeff Chimenti. The production is currently undergoing rewrites after a workshop at Williamstown, in partnership with Broadway legend Laura Benanti, who is also serving as a creative producer on Miranda's song cycle Spiral Bound. Together, they presented a star-studded version of the show at Joe's Pub and are planning a follow-up performance directed by Ellenore Scott.

Miranda’s dedication to exploring female relationships is further reflected in her other works, including Edmonia, which is preparing for a spring 29-hour workshop, and the semi-autobiographical two-woman musical Showing Up, which had staged readings at Middlebury College and Princeton University. As a vocal and creativity coach, she collaborates with local creatives, guiding them in finding their unique voice and story.
