Tony Shalhoub, born Anthony Marc Shalhoub in 1953, is an American actor with a prolific career spanning stage, screen, and television. He found early success on television with his portrayal of Antonio Scarpacci on the sitcom Wings (1991-1997).
Shalhoub's career skyrocketed with his starring role as Adrian Monk in the detective series Monk (2002-2009). His nuanced performance of a brilliant detective crippled by obsessive-compulsive disorder earned him a whopping three Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
Beyond television, Shalhoub has a decorated film career with roles in movies like Barton Fink (1991), Big Night (1996), Men in Black (1997), and The Man Who Wasn't There (2001).
