[0:00] Andrew: Hello, it's Editing Andrew. Before we get into this episode, I just want everyone to know that we recorded this episode on Sunday, November 3rd, before we knew the United States presidential election results. So, just know that if you are feeling downtrodden right now, it's completely understandable. I hope that for this well over two and a half hour long episode, that this can serve as an escape. I would recommend taking action, obviously, in your local community, but also would recommend a really great watch, which was the movie Origin, which is available to stream on Hulu. It really gives a lot of context to why we're at where we're at right now in terms of hate between different groups, and I think I learned so much from it. Also, for this episode, I was still sick with a pretty bad cough. So, please forgive me. I was editing and I was like, oh, I've had better days where I sounded better than this. So, yeah. Okay, and with that, here's the episode.

[1:45] Andrew: Wait, how do I want to start this? We're gonna, we're gonna glack it. After the theme, right? The theme song just ended. We're going into another theme song. Gonna glack it, gonna glack it. We're gonna figure out the best song on Glee. Gonna glack it, gonna glack it. Who is joined with me? Abby. Oh, it's Abby. Remember her? Remember her? Remember me? Hey, guys. It's been a hot minute. How are you? It's been a few episodes. Like, I don't know. Like, who is this girl? I don't know. Do you even keep up with Glee anymore? What's going on? I can barely keep up with Glee. I cannot keep up. Oh my god, that's so sweet. Stop it. Oh, stop, stop. Everybody in the chat is going crazy for you. Okay, so, before we get into your Glacka hot takes, I forgot to even ask, do you have Glacka hot takes? I have a few Glacka hot takes. I do.

[3:03] Andrew: Okay. I do indeed. Before we get into that, I do have the results of what song is coming back for round three that I've been putting off revealing. But here, you will finally know what song is coming back for round three. Okay, so, just going through all the stats for all those stats nerds out there. Amelia, I'm looking at you. Zero percent. We have Womanizer, Night Fever, Starships, Anything Could Happen, You're the Top, Hold On, Perfect, Rather Be, My Life, Hey Jude, Happy, and Bust a Move. You got nothing. One percent. There are two songs here. We've got We've Got Tonight and Honesty. Two Kevin McHale vocals that didn't have the juice, apparently. Two percent. Got to Get You Into My Life, the only song with two percent.

Four percent. Bad and Come What May. Five percent. Girl on Fire, R.I.P. Girly Pop. Twelve percent. Ooh, This One Hurts Too, Just The Way You Are Season Two. Yikes. Coming in second with 28 percent, Born This Way, and then coming back, you, Miners Everywhere Are Rejoicing. Woo! This is for the miners. Mine. Forty-two percent. Mine is back in the glacket. I don't know why you thought you could get rid of her, because that's the first on the pan flips. That's the first one I have my grievances with. We'll get to it though.

[4:44] Abby: Wait, do you, I think that lends itself as a great segue into your glacket grievances.

[4:52] Andrew: Okay. Well, let's begin. Okay. It's been about a bit of episode, like more than like 10 plus episodes since I've been here. A lot has happened. I think the last episode I listened to had the miners to serve with love. I was just like, I was like, put the cameras, put the cameras. It was like my, I love to serve with love so much. Like everybody, you know what I'm saying? That reaches my heart. Mine also reaches my heart. They reach my heart in a different way. And I resonated with what y'all talking about. You're saying like, I'm recalling a bit like your explanations about like how the songs made you guys feel. Yeah. It was still just like, it was one of those ones where it's just like, let's just go through.

And they both ended up getting through because, you know, the people voted. The people voted. This is the importance of voting. Yeah. Yeah. You should vote guys. Don't forget election season is here. Early voting is open now. We're in a live stream before election day. But this episode proper will come out officially a week after election day. So we really don't know what's about to happen. And it's scary times. But for anybody on the call, vote, vote, vote, capital V O T E. Yeah, but this is why voting matters, people, because mine is back where it's supposed to be. And guys, mine is absolutely back.

[6:22] Abby: Andrew, there's a question that says, what Born This Way lost to?

[6:26] Andrew: Born This Way lost to Jeepers Creepers. Um, what did Born This Way lose to? We are young.

[6:36] Abby: That's right, Jacqueline. Thank you. And Becca. Um, so all right. The rest of my grievances is a little bit of a shorter lesson. Um, I guess we have bad versus you got a friend of the mashup. Yeah, I love that mashup. I do. But I also look bad. Like, I don't know what I would have voted for. A lot of these are like, which would I have? Not a lot. Okay, I feel like I don't even know if I've ever heard your thoughts on bad before. But I feel like just knowing what I know about you, bad is a song specifically made for you. I feel like that is an Abbey coded song. It is Abbey code. I think this is the top. It's like in the top half of Jackson songs that they've done for sure. I feel like there's a there's like a there's an upward run that Naya does.

We don't talk about it enough. Trust. I'm going to talk about it. That like and also I have to I come in representing Glee Twitter. Glee Twitter also loves bad. You know, it's a bit of the war based Twitter rep Abbey. Yeah. I'm here to represent glitter like, shout out to them. But I also I also love that that song like you've got a friend like, I mean, I'm fine because at the end of the day, Santana is eating in both of them. But I don't know what I would have voted for that one. Brave versus girl on fire. I'm feeling some sentimental value for brave because hourly Glee is currently on brave. Glitter, glitter stand. Yeah, it is so important to me. And so because of that, I am like, what? Because look, because look, because look, because look, which one?

I think brave one instead of girl on fire. So I don't know what I'm fighting for. I don't know what I'm fighting for brave like this because girl on fire eight. But I guess two girls eating together is always, you know, I'm saying like, that's always a good time. But girl on fire. It's a joint play. Exactly. They came together for their joints. Everybody looks good. You know, her Bob was fire. Hair was fire. Dress was fire. And I'm saying, and they blended so well to like, obviously, like, obviously, we all talk about San Sadie's or like Naya and Amber. Obviously, that top spot when it comes to do X, like no one said that that's a different tier. But we're talking about, you know, other duet, you know, couples.

That's not like those two. It's already a Mercedes. And we personally on the same tier, Rachel and Santana. It's home with such a good like, there's so much tension, but they go together so well. They blend so well. They match each other's vibe so well. And that's why I really like Yeah, I guess I would have voted for brave, I guess. So all that to say, this isn't a grievance. You know, now that I've come to it, I would have gotten for brave. Okay, not too much. Okay, the next one, I definitely would have voted. Listen to your heart versus get it right. Because listen to your heart. I am the third person in that song. Okay. I, it's me, Rachel and Jesse. It's all of us. So I feel so like attached to that.

[9:39] Abby: Where do you fall?

[9:41] Andrew: Well, whatever their whatever note, they're not singing. I'm going to sing because you know, whatever note Jonathan Groff and Lea Michele aren't singing. Yeah, that's okay. Sometimes he'll sing the tenor and she'll sing the soprano, but there will be an alto. Okay, fine. I'll fill it out. So you're begging me. So it's like, fine. Like, I'll take that. They left it to me. So I personally stream that way more than get it right. I don't think I stream get it right at all. Gonna be honest. I'm so sorry. This doesn't tug at my strings. Like I mean, I felt her though. She was scribbling in that notebook. You know, when would I get it right? I understand that. Someone commented, I forget who it is right now.

But someone commented that like, um, get it right. Like, constantly, people like on the black, it don't like we don't discuss highly of get it right. And yet, here she stands in round three. And I don't know, I, I, I also don't stream her. But I think that she's kind of like, I really enjoyed what Ian had to say about get it right. And so I, I don't know, I'm happy to have her. I'm not mad that she's in round three, personally. Honestly, like, I get it. Like, from in terms of what's gonna win. I think that would win versus listen to your heart. Because, again, like, strategically thinking, listen to your heart is a season six, people probably forget that it exists. Like, if you didn't watch the show throughout that you don't even know that song was done.

So it's like on a if you put this poll out to the regular to the normies who don't like who watch Glee casually, it's not that season three, they're putting a vote on get it right. It wins it when it's more I can tell you right now who's winning because the when as we're recording this, the Instagram poll is up with that exact competition. And it is much closer than I thought it would be 47% for listen to your heart 53 for get it right. So you see, but it's the winning though, it's still clearing, you know, it's still clearing. So I feel like it's still it still has the it's still has like its name. It's like it's still iconic. You know what I'm saying? So it still has that like that factor to it. And right, you know, the big whatever, Quinn and Rachel are, you know, well, we'll get it right. When are you ever going to get it right? Yeah, when are you ever gonna get it right, Rachel?

[12:04] Abby: There, girl, you did not have to eat her up. Because that was diabolical. Girl, you just handed her the song. She has never written that well in her life. Yeah. Because sometimes you need that you need a little like a battery in your back and batteries was Quinn. God bless. It was really like one of those like, um, like almost like a sitcom where it was like, wait, what did you just say? And I was just like, when are you ever gonna get it right? It's like, let's write a song. It's like loser like me. And it's like sticks. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Yeah. It's too good.

[12:28] Andrew: Okay. And my last one. Exactly. That's what Quinn said she was gonna she said she was gonna help Rachel. She didn't just she didn't say how she would help Rachel. She just said, right. No, I mean, she did what she was here to do. And my last one, which I definitely know I would not I would have definitely voted for what I'm saying here is what doesn't kill you versus bills, bills, bills. Oh my god, my big beef with those those bills, those bills is fun in the moment. It just doesn't, you know what I'm saying? It doesn't even do bills, bills, bills are real, like, it doesn't do it. It doesn't do it justice, I fear. And what what? I mean, I've talked about those those bills on glitter. I'm gleeful.

I've gotten into many discussions about why bills, bills, bills didn't eat the way everybody thinks it is egregious, because like, like he was saying the original, you know, who's saying it? Like, let's stop, let's stop it. And don't ever compare Blaine Anderson, or Darren Criss to Beyonce, or any of the dead, or Kelly, or Michelle, don't do that. Don't do that, please.

[13:35] Abby: Do you think it's it could, and this feels likely, actually, that it's like, that people are listening, they are just more familiar with bills, bills, bills, Gleecast version, ahead of Destiny's Child. They just like, aren't. That could be it. Because also like bills, bills, bills. It is like, I don't know about you, rare occurrence, Destiny's Child track out in public. I feel like if you're going to be playing a Destiny's Child track in public, but I feel like bills, bills, bills isn't played out in public in the same way, like say my name is, or gosh, I can't even like think of why am I blanking on every single Destiny's Child song right now? Like,

[14:19] Unknown speaker: Survivor?

[14:20] Unknown speaker: Survivor? I don't know.

[14:22] Unknown speaker: I feel like that one, I feel like the one you still like, you still hear that.

[14:28] Unknown speaker: I feel like it's like one of the popular ones that you would hear. I mean, but maybe that's just me. Maybe that's what I think. But I wouldn't know because I stream it.

[14:36] Unknown speaker: So I think so. But it's like, I mean, there's definitely, you know, because everybody listened, had their own songs that they're into. And then Gleek came and was like, oh, this is a new genre. Because like, what was I doing listening to Broadway? I wasn't. But now I'm saying, I'm listening to Suddenly Seymour. Okay, this is a bop. I like that better than the Broadway version. And it's like somebody would say, would you ever say that the Broadway version has so much emotion? Like, I don't care what any of you guys are saying. So I can understand. But I'm never going to argue with you that necessarily, I will say I like it better. But to say it is better, is a whole different, that's a whole different statement. And that is where I have problems with people saying, oh, it is better, or it is the better version.

[15:16] Unknown speaker: Okay. Yeah. So Bills, Bills, Bills. We understand your thoughts on the damn song. It would have been a chop.

[15:24] Unknown speaker: When it comes to What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger, where do you stand on that girl?

[15:30] Unknown speaker: I like her. I think she's good. She's not my most streamed, trouble toned song. I think she is just like such, when I voted in that competition for What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger, I feel like if I were to look at like the amount of times that I've played Bills, Bills, Bills, as opposed to What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger.

[15:49] Unknown speaker: I feel like I've listened to Bills, Bills, Bills, Gleecast version more. However, I'm rooting for What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger, because I'm like, I feel like it was almost like in recent years that I was like, this was so inspired. Everything about it was just like, it was just like a hidden in the rubble. I feel that it was like, of the rumor has it and the survivor, I will survive that it was like, oh, you guys aren't even thinking about her, but she is so streamable to me.

[16:17] Unknown speaker: She's very streamable. I feel like she's matchable. She's like comparable with the original. Like that's what and that's, that's what I'm talking about. Like they gave it. I feel like the Kelly one is just like, I don't know, I get the and I this is, I don't know, Adam Anders has given me much to think about when he was like, do you like these versions better than the original because you because you like these characters and I was like, oh, um, I think you might you may be right.

[16:39] Unknown speaker: Um, so I don't know it because I do what I do want to say that it's like, the Gleek has version, they ate it up more than Kelly. But am I just saying that because I like a I like a Trouble Tones? girly? I don't know. I like those girls. I don't know. I think that I'm digging the theater. I think that you could argue for the Trouble Tones because it's like, it's it's nine amber who are to like, like, they can they can sing down. So it's like, yeah, I'm saying it's, you know, to the one and you know, you could argue that it's but I'm there's no way no one can ever match what that city's child brought to to the to that table like those they're just vocally insane.

[17:22] Unknown speaker: Like and also like, I just not like I don't like it. Also, the auto tune. Granted, auto tune is like, you know, I don't have big beef with auto tune. Like it's not like, oh my god, they can't seem to use auto tune. But sometimes it's like I can hear it like, too clearly. It's like it's like in faithfully there's a there's a line that I don't know about this.

[17:42] Unknown speaker: Don't destroy faithfully for me. Really? There is a there is a there is a like one word that is like that Rachel sings. I think it's like when it's like when it's building up. Yeah, and I can hear it so clearly. Like, we're just gonna go just don't even worry about that part. Like it's if you can find it, and I will include in the carousel or something.

[18:04] Unknown speaker: I'll find it. I'll send it to you.

[18:08] Unknown speaker: Okay, okay, perfect. Okay. And somebody said in the group chat, built those bills didn't really play what you said. didn't really played. Sorry for interrupting your business. But if you didn't want to be called out, but didn't play to the plot. It was a shoehorn number.

[18:16] Unknown speaker: I agree. It's like a lot of the numbers like somebody else said, but you know, I'm saying they're fun. You know, I'm saying like, they didn't have a hit album for no reason. You know, they're saying they're fun. They're good. You know, people love the boys, I guess.

[18:29] Unknown speaker: Yeah, I do think that bills bills bills is one of my favorite warbler songs, though. I don't want to seem like a bills bills bills hater.

[18:35] Unknown speaker: I'm not you're not a business with hater. I am. No, I stand firm in that.

[18:39] Unknown speaker: You are. Yes. No, I would say you know, I think it's a hater. It's it's it's in the way I've become a hater of things when people people who are fans of it are just too much like you make it's like, for example, like, I've talked about this before. I like Blake Anderson. He's like one of my top males of the show. But sometimes, in the same way I feel about Rachel Berry, sometimes the fans just I don't even I it's not even I just I know I don't like Rachel Berry because they murky the water a little bit.

[19:14] Unknown speaker: But you got to stand firm in your in your ground that you do like these characters. Maybe some problematic people.

[19:21] Unknown speaker: Yeah, so sharing a like for them.

[19:24] Unknown speaker: Yeah, I don't just like and bills bills bills. If you say because it's just like, okay, we can enjoy it. But like, not too much. Let's not say it's better than the original. Like, please.

[19:28] Unknown speaker: It's I'm not gonna say I'm not gonna cough in two days. I just got over it. Please. Um, I do have a cough. So I don't know if you will hear that sniffly. I was gonna ask if you're okay.

[19:41] Unknown speaker: No, it's just like a annoying cough that I've had for a few days. I don't feel like sick anywhere else. I could hear it in the Adam episode. Adam and Nikki, sorry for the Nikki erasure.

[19:51] Unknown speaker: Um, but yeah, I don't know. It's, it's annoying. What other grievances do you have?

[20:02] Unknown speaker: Oh, those are my only grievances. And then my other notes are, are I loved your episode, the season four tour. I'm saying you came in with a big bang. I just want to say I just want to acknowledge you. You're so special to me.

[20:10] Unknown speaker: That was that was very fun. I literally put off everything else in my life.

[20:15] Unknown speaker: No, you're real. I get it.

[20:17] Unknown speaker: To put together that damn set list that I was like, damn.

[20:21] Unknown speaker: Um, all right. Well, what are we? What are you manifesting today?

[20:26] Unknown speaker: Abby, I just I do. I like the last episode because they're they're like, it was a few like mid ish offs or like two songs are equally comparable. So there's like a little bit of like, you know, more discussion.

[20:37] Unknown speaker: Yeah, yeah. So I'm looking for one of those, you know, me, man. Personally, I always just want something sent in. I just want to leave her sing. I've seen Santana.

[20:49] Unknown speaker: Yeah, maybe like a lot of Santolo's left. I mean, we famously got one in the last episode, but we still have Valerie, we have a cold hearted, we have a back to black.

[21:00] Unknown speaker: Um, I think that might be it. But that's still a lot.

[21:03] Unknown speaker: I do want a group. I want to remember I want a family feeling. I want a family feeling. I'm feeling sentimental. I want my family back. I want my family back so bad.

[21:15] Unknown speaker: Yes, I think that's, that's pretty good.

[21:18] Unknown speaker: Perfect. Um, are we ready to bring in our first damn Gleek?

[21:23] Unknown speaker: I'm ready.

[21:23] Unknown speaker: Jacqueline. Are you here?

[21:26] Jacqueline: Yeah, I'm here.

[21:27] Jacqueline: Jacqueline was ready.

[21:30] Jacqueline: For the record, you asked this and I don't love the jump scare. So I'm glad I'm first so I can get it out of the way.

[21:34] Unknown speaker: Okay, and so you could just relax the rest of the stream with this like tension. Like is he gonna call me?

[21:44] Unknown speaker: Um, wait, how are you?

[21:47] Jacqueline: I'm thrilled. This is thrilling. I'm like a new I'm a new Glatren to I literally subscribed last month. So yeah, first time in the

[21:53] Jacqueline: I know. Also, I'm obsessed with this room that you have behind you.

[21:57] Unknown speaker: Wow, really making the most of it.

[22:03] Jacqueline: Oh, thank you. Yeah, I got some like art up there. I just like really like going to farmers markets and just finding that one person that just has like doodles and I'm like, these are beautiful. And I just buy all of them. It's very cute. I like them. It's very sunny in your room too.

[22:17] Unknown speaker: Thank you. Yeah, it's actually super rainy where I am. So that's

[22:20] Jacqueline: Oh, it's so sunny in your room.

[22:24] Unknown speaker: I know the sun is beautiful.

[22:26] Unknown speaker: Um, okay, vibe shift. Glackett grievances. What's going on with you?

[22:31] Jacqueline: What's going on with me? So I like I said, I'm kind of a new glistener. So I haven't listened to actually all the old episodes yet.

[22:36] Jacqueline: Um, but I have been studying the Glackett in detail.

[22:44] Jacqueline: And as I was originally making up this list, I was it was getting long. I was like, I have beef with so many of the competitions. But as I, as I began to listen to more and more episodes, I really began to see the beauty of the Glackett is that we all have different opinions. And that's okay.

[22:59] Jacqueline: And so the Glackett, the beauty of the Glackett, it's the nature of the beast. And so instead of bringing some Glackett grievances to you, I'm just gonna give a shout out to some songs that I think deserve to make it to round two. But just because of because of the beauty of the Glackett, they didn't and that's okay. And I'm okay with that. But I just want them to know that I'm still streaming. They're still listening. They still listen.

[23:24] Jacqueline: Yeah, out there. I'm listening to you and you will be on my Spotify rap this year. Yeah, I promise. And those songs are that I just have listed are losing my religion. Blackbird. Yep. Blackbird. Love is a battlefield claim to what's a really getting shot on site in this Glackett.

[23:38] Jacqueline: I know I feel so bad. And it's okay. I mean, when come what may last I was like, Okay, and then we got to get you into my life. I always need to point out I did stand up for got to get you in my life. And I knew you would. And I knew you would. And I and I appreciate you.

[23:57] Jacqueline: But love is a battlefield dead on day one. And that's okay. She's fine. And I like her. But how about um, animal last claim to it that you're reaching for?

[24:08] Jacqueline: I actually really like animal and I have been streaming it more recently. I don't know what it is. It really scratches an itch for me. But I'm not gonna I wouldn't have voted against Santa's drum. Like, the second you pulled that I was like, well, animals.

[24:24] Unknown speaker: Another claim to it.

[24:27] Jacqueline: Yeah.

[24:27] Jacqueline: But it's okay that that what I would say that that was not. If any of them were gonna win the Glackett it was gonna be got to get into my life. So if that's out, we do have an interesting cold outside. And I like baby it's cold outside. I'm just not partial to the Christmas songs. And that's not like anything wrong with them. A few more beauty school dropout. The better grease blow low is what I think.

[24:49] Jacqueline: I miss that so much. Yeah. I also have jump and jump in so far. Love her. Love her. And then this one might be controversial empire state of mind. I love her. I love her. People people say it's embarrassing. I don't I think it's amazing.

[25:05] Jacqueline: I love it. I love it. And then my biggest lost loss of round one was more than a feeling. I think that that was, I mean, that lost a homeward bound slash home, which that probably was like the top of my grievances before I was before I became a new person.

[25:17] Jacqueline: And I don't have problems with Glackett decisions. Okay. I'm a new person now. You just met me.

[25:29] Unknown speaker: Reformed. Yes.

[25:29] Jacqueline: But more than a feeling. It's so good. It's so good.

[25:32] Unknown speaker: I actually did not realize that more than a feeling lost to home in round one. And I did not realize that. And and I love I mean, Glee Twitter also loves homeward bound slash over whatever the order is.

[25:46] Jacqueline: And but at the end of the day, like, more than a feeling like Tina on that song. Oh, so good. She's holding it for like a minute. Have you heard it? She's holding it for a minute.

[25:57] Unknown speaker: Listen back. It's like a minute. She's amazing on that song. Like I think that might be like one of her best vocal performances.

[26:05] Jacqueline: Absolutely. I feel like more than a feeling is kind of at least in my perspective of the entire Glee discography.

[26:16] Jacqueline: I feel like more than a feeling for whatever reason is like lost to time. It's like people don't acknowledge it. And it's really, really great. It's like a very great hidden gem. I feel

[26:28] Unknown speaker: yeah, I would say that honestly, everything in that nationals performance. I'm crying.

[26:32] Jacqueline: Yes, it comes on shuffle, to be honest. But like, we need to be talking about more than a feeling.

[26:37] Unknown speaker: Jeez. Open the schools. Open the schools.

[26:43] Jacqueline: Yeah, right. Sure. Yeah. So that's all I have on my list right now. So again, I'm not the kind of person to get mad about Glocken decisions anymore. And that'll help me today. If you guys want against me.

[26:47] Unknown speaker: Yeah, what was it before you were reborn? What can you think of a Glocken decision that did grind your gears?

[27:02] Jacqueline: Yeah, there was one. Actually, I didn't even call this one out because it's okay that it lost in round one. I would just say that. Wake me up before you go go versus raise your glass season five.

[27:13] Jacqueline: I would just say that I haven't listened to that episode yet. So I don't know what the discussion was. For me, raise your glass season five is like, I don't love it that much. And I just love a I love a blam duet. And wake me up before you go go is my favorite blam duet.

[27:25] Jacqueline: So I think that like, when we did the statistics of at the end of round one, not a single blam duet made it out. And, and that hurts me. And that's, and it's okay, because I get it. Except that I don't, but I get it now.

[27:44] Unknown speaker: I get it now.

[27:44] Jacqueline: Okay. That's your past self.

[27:50] Unknown speaker: Yeah, don't send me back into the darkness. But I would say just like, I don't know. I and I love Kristin Chenoweth, for real. But there was that song was just in the episode. I was like, why are you even singing this?

[27:59] Jacqueline: And then while I love Kristin Chenoweth, I don't love April Rhodes that much. And I just don't need that much April Rhodes representation in the Glockett for me personally.

[28:10] Unknown speaker: Really? That's wild.

[28:10] Jacqueline: Besides maybe this time, of course, and one less bell to answer slash houses on home, of course, like those, you know, that can be her representation in the Glockett. I'm down with that. But that one I was just and then I don't think that will sounds that good on it. And then it was just it was it was kind of a flop for me.

[28:26] Unknown speaker: I would say wake me before you go go is a lot more fun. But again, it's okay, because I don't even know if I would say wake me before you go go is even in the

[29:09] Abby: And honestly even I like that one but even so I think that it's like towards the bottom of like Will and April duets personally me I'm an alone fighter for sure alone I think that's their best work together I personally I don't go to reach for house is not a bell home I don't go for that stuff I keep hearing y'all talk about it I keep hearing and fire is good too um yeah I keep hearing everybody and I try to go back and you know like for me to really get involved in the song and love it I have to watch the scene yeah I'm like okay let me see what let me see what everybody's talking about and I just doesn't do it for me I don't know and that's how I feel about even watching Raise Your Glass season 5 the scene itself I'm like this is embarrassing you guys okay no I was about to bring that up because I feel like there was so much talk about like the actual vocalist on the song which I don't think that's why I like arrive at Raise Your Glass season 5 that's not the reason I go go to her I go to her because of like Quinn and the polka dot dress okay I go to her because I'm like Santa's um top and top and skirt come on right and they did like a little unholy trinity like um like soft launch you know before they can talk like it's like the family is what you were saying earlier the family is together again and that was actually the justification that that made me become this new person is I was like I can understand like blam versus the family like you're gonna go for the family every time like like I guess family um I just I think that April and Will are just it's too much of them in the mp4 and but it's okay I mean it's fine right as we've already established you're a new person you're not actually mad I'm not mad but wake me before you go go I'm still streaming her and you know if she's out there I love you girl love you girl it's like uh Katniss where she um she puts her fingers in the air and was like salutes the fallen soldiers yeah um I remember you um wake me up that tick tock sound um what are we manifesting yeah I'm manifesting there's a lot of duets left in the mix that I would be thrilled to get pulled I was just watching um sectionals that episode for the first not for the first time I was watching it with my mom because I got her to start watching Glee for the first time so I would love uh Rachel's Dromp to be pulled which you know because if we send her into the next round then we get an even better chance of Dromp v Dromp in round three so and don't do that don't do that don't do that no no please I just gotta show you it's scary it's scary I know I'm so you don't even understand you don't even understand I'm not opening discourse for this however I just want to say that I know a lot of people have been rooting for a Dromp v Dromp and understandably it makes for a very fun conversation however the quiet part out loud we know who would win I'm just like I no you keep going Andrew sorry I I feel like I'm kind of like digging myself into a grave like I hate to say it but I mean like I'm not going to reveal who watch it watch it you don't need because here's just say it here's tea no because look wait because I'm not even going to talk about what's better I think in the at the end of the day you take the raw vocals they match up people complain about the track I'll give you that if you like the Broadway original track better like in terms of the music yeah I understand what you're talking about but in terms of bar for bar vocally no one's going to say that oh like oh like oh it was actually once did I I changed the key of the music behind um uh Rachel's like music and I put it under Santana yeah I was going to release it and say what now because tell me what it is now because because not that it's necessarily better but to say like oh to not recognize the vocals that's my problem people don't sometimes people ignore the vocals and don't talk about how good it is but either way I do think that it's obvious which one would win because it's like sensitive like okay it has the it was in sectionals it was the big boom boom wow it like it has a lot going for it but I think I'm mostly scared because our again glee twitter hourly glee is about to hit that spot we're like they're about to hit the don't rain on my parade on yes and it's going to be chaos everybody will be fighting I'm kind of excited for it but I'm just like and this is such a it's such a what's the what's the word I don't know it's just like it's one of those covered glee conversations that will never never die yeah it's very and honestly everyone wants to talk about drop b drop in round three and I and I am right now but I also would love a teenage dream versus teenage dream in season three yes and I actually don't know who would win that one I think that would be pretty 50 50 oh I know mine too I think that I think most people would know where I stand on that one yeah you've said it before recording yes you reach for that one yeah um okay perfect all right anything more to be said before we pull the first damn song no I'm ready there's some favor it's really really spooky scary I'm so scared let's see oh okay here it's a song wait can I do the guessing thing can I try to guess yeah I like to go to you're gonna get it Abby um I think I don't know what the first slide is but I just feel confident that this would be a song that you would get I feel like you'll probably get it too I'll give you I'll get Jacqueline I'll let you go because okay well that makes me nervous actually okay never mind well I'll try I'll try you can vote a friend if you need okay okay oh yeah okay here I have the screen grab you will know oh oh oh my gosh light up the world oh yeah wait I was kind of manifesting this actually hey you and me I keep on dancing in the dark it's been tearing me apart never knowing what we are hey you and me I keep on trying to play cool now it's time to make a move and that's what I'm gonna do lay it all down got something to say lay it all down throw your doubt away do or die now baby step onto the plate blow the door wide open like I've all been away let's light up the world tonight you had to give up the fun goodbye I know that we got the love alright come on and light it up, light it up, light it up tonight hey you and me turn it up ten thousand watts tell me why we gotta stop I just wanna let it rock hey you and me keep on staring at the road like we don't know where to go step back let me take control lay it all down got something to say lay it all down throw your doubt away do or die now baby step onto the plate blow the door wide open like I've all been away let's light up the world tonight you had to give up the fun goodbye I know that we got the love alright come on and light it up, light it up, light it up tonight let's light up the world tonight you had to give up the fun goodbye I know that we got the love alright come on and light it up, light it up, light it up tonight it's like I don't know it's I I feel like it encapsulates 2011 in a very nostalgic way and it's like oh like this was I don't know this is kind of the moment I don't know in a way that like Loser Like Me I can't even like stream I unironically stream this oh no yeah it's great this might be my top modified playlist this year I stream it all the time it's perfect it's incredible who wants to who wants to start the discourse do do we have conversation starters around Light Up The World I would just like to say that Annie said and I had wrote this down as well quote it feels like Santana wrote this and that was the first thing I wrote first of all Santana was in the booth when she wrote this song I can prove that she wrote this first of all she's the first one who sings I believe if I remember correctly yes yeah I could see them in that like in that little New York hotel room and she's like I have to sing the first line because and we're just like no but I and me and Finn and then they're like no you just sing a duet like stop it please like I wrote the song it's my song so I get to choose like the distribution like you can have Will's like everybody's gonna sing and that's why the distribution is so good because Santana wrote it it's like oh like she's trying to get people in exactly she's trying to get people their flowers you know what I'm saying so she wrote this about Britney obviously look at the lyrics look it up I don't have to explain it to you like hey hey hey you and me it's like we're dancing in the dark like hello let's talk about the whole season let's get to it like what yeah um we have unholy trinity moment you know they're doing their little dance this is to me I love this is one of my favorite boys competition outfits I think they all look so true they don't have the cut off sleeves that I hate hate when they do cut off the cut off button down I don't like it very cute very demure of them in this episode here um the distribution vocals like I just said Artie, Britney, Tina, Santana, Rachel, Finn like how many like that's I feel like that's more than what we had in Paradise it's really great yeah and I think Santana had such a big beef with Rachel after this for the kiss because she wrote the song it's like oh we could have gotten at least top 10 with this song like you ruined my you ruined my big break a little bit like this was supposed to be our moment and you guys selfishly kissed and ruined our chances and that's why she had she makes the voodoo dolls because she can we talk about though if I was at a show choir competition and two people kissed on stage I would actually be obsessed with that it's like that was kind of like that actually kind of is the drama I would be obsessed with that I'd be like who are these people give me your stuff oh I need to know oh my god I would be going to the judge's room like hello we got a winner because I'm always watching like especially like dancing with the stars or like like in the olympics the ice skaters I'm like how are you guys not falling in love with each other that's how I feel watching show choir just so to see them actually kiss the fan fiction I don't even know you I I don't know why I'm just thinking about this for the first time they're all the rest of the glee club is faced away from Finchel when they kiss so how do they make a loud smooch on the mic it's like silence they heard zero applause and they were like did they like what did you do what's going on behind me why hasn't the music started like what and we fucking see Santana laughing she knows they lost it already she's like fuck let's just go have fun at this point she's like they're like did they like all flip off the audience or something why are they like not why are they not laughing what's going on is it the slow clap oh my god I've been huming and also somebody in the chat mentioned like Rachel in the back quote unquote dancing if there's ever a time when Rachel's not singing in a group competition I just or anything or any group number I need y'all to just look in the back and look at Rachel I'm like did they not have Leah go into the dance studio to like did she learn this on day of because it'd be very real if she learned the dances like literally minutes before because she was always doing scenes and stuff because that's how she'd be canonically these people wrote that song the day true and here are my thoughts that lighted up the world I think a lot of the world is better than losers like me and I think pretending is better than get it right so everybody who's mentioning Dolly Parton wrote Jolene and I will always love you on the same day no New Directions wrote Pretending and Light up the World on the same day let's talk about it those are iconic songs I stream them both I can't really pretending the pretenders they have a big a big fan base I'm not I don't subscribe to it but I also just like respectfully just I don't I don't get it I get why you don't get it I think especially the mp4 is boring they're just walking around but I don't there's like a note that Rachel hits at the end that I just think is so like she holds that for a long time and I don't know why that always just struck me I don't know why I just like it yeah I just like it it's not I mean I'm streaming Light up the World more than any original song on Glee so everything else is like way down here but I did something really special with this yeah they really did they really they hit it pretending you know what I'm okay that that one's dead but I again I'm streaming her so but anyway we're not talking about pretending right now sorry to get off track no this is important someone's gotta bring her up but yeah Light up the World I love those outfits so much I'm glad you brought that up Abby I think even the the girls outfits are like

[42:58] Abby: Just the it's just it's perfect. I don't know. I love it. So I can't believe they wrote that in one day. I actually don't believe it because it's not true. Santana is such a mastermind. You understand? That's true. That's true. That's why she got the understudy so quick and easy. Okay, and my final thought is I love spins. Turn it up 10,000 watts. Like, everyone's talking about throw your dad away. And I'm like, what? Yes, so satisfying. I love what's so funny. It's like a vocal fry to it. Yeah. And then so intense. So good. And the best time in the mp3 like that, you know, the extended version, there's some stuff at the end where like, Rachel is like being auto-tuned in like a stylistic way.

And that's always very satisfying to me. It gets like a little robotic. I really like the auto. I think that adds to like the 2011 nostalgia, like the auto-tune on this is like, it's so stupid. Yeah. I love this song. It's very fun. Yeah. But also, I have some legal notes. Um, you already brought up one of them, throw it out of way. We need to acknowledge it every time that we talk about this performance, throw your dad away the obvious misinterpretation of the lyrics of throw your doubt, throw your doubt away. Yeah. But it's like, I can't even hear that. There's that's there's no I can't. Class. You know, Rachel would have pronounced that T. True Annunciation. New Directions. That's a Britney lyric.

Yeah, yeah. Yeah. I'm saying, you know, I'm saying Rachel has the time to pronounce all these T's because she's not doing dance moves. Britney's doing dance moves. She's kicking, you know, sometimes you just get lost in the sauce. Yeah. And then the other legal note, I don't know where you will stand on this. But in round one, this one against Edge of Glory, another nationals competition. Opening this can of worms, I would vote for Edge of Glory. Now you miss me with this one. My top stream Troublestone songs in general, I feel like, listen, let's talk about it. We have Edge of Glory startup, Edge of Glory, laid down the platform. It was the foundation of what even won them nationals in the first place.

Yeah, it was the last two songs like, Oh, yeah, they're great. They're excellent. But that song opened with a bit. They came from the risers do the chief. So bad. Bookley as a vocal performance. I think it's better than light up the world. I do think light up the world has the family aspect of it all. But like Edge of Glory has like, oh, it's a nationals like we've won. So I feel like even those like they canceled out that it is so it's gonna come down to like, visually. Yes. Visually, like Edge of Glory is just so satisfying to me. And also like the vocals like, and then you have Quentin Tino coming out and over for a little guest spot. Hello, like, it's just I love her. I would have voted for Edge of Glory 100% like I stream her a lot more than light it up.

And I think that it has a light it up up up. Yeah. In terms I don't even know how it was to get. I mean, I didn't listen. I didn't listen to the episode. I missed it. And you go for light up the world just because of like the kind of original aspect. I just like that's probably it. And my favorite Troublestones number is survival slash I will survive. So I think that, you know, if it was light up the world versus that survivor slash I would survive would win. But I don't know, I'm a light up the world defender. I feel like Edge of Glory, every time that I watch it, I'm always like struck by how short they cut this down for the television edit. It's wild. How short it is. It's like coming in at like a minute.

Maybe crazy. Is it really that short? It's really, really tiny. Yeah. I guess because I rewind so much. I can't tell. Like I have to watch it. What do you mean? It's a few hours. Yeah. I thought it was at least two hours. I don't know what you're talking about. Yeah. Because I have to watch each person. I'm so sick. I'm so sorry. Um, okay. Do we have any final notes on light up the world before we get into its competitor? Pull it. Let's go. We're ready. I love her. Not enough to vote up. There's a moment that I didn't ever catch before. But in the background, Lauren's I sees drop something and then picks it up. And let's pull it back. Watch it again. Wait, do we need to? Wait, let me find it.

Oh, I think it's dance move. Is that all bended down? Oh, she took it very seriously. Dance move. Where you just touch your toes. One finger it looks like. It's like half of them are doing it and half of them aren't. It's not even on the floor. Choreography queen. Exactly. Are you happy? I did it. Okay. Audio medium. She touched the ground with one finger. Audio medium. Yeah. Okay, up against light up the world. Reveal yourself. I feel like these are kind of same font. Same font. Let's see if we can guess the songs. I think you will be able to get it. I hope so. Oh, audio medium. What are we looking at? Well, it's got to be Sadie Hawkins. Yeah, I see. Is it No Scrub or Locked Out of Heaven? Locked Out of Heaven because the boys are in the crowd. No, is that? Oh, yeah. I see Ryder, I think. And look at Artie. He's there. There he is. I see Jake too. It's Locked Out of Heaven. Context clues. You got it so quick.

[49:08] ♪ Musical number: "Locked Out of Heaven" — performed by Glee Cast ♪

[51:09] Abby: Okay. The mic slams. The mic slams. We're really doing a lot. Doing a lot of heavy lifting here. Yeah. Abby, you're muted. I don't know if you want to be muted, but. Oh, thank you. We're like podcast all muted. Who wants to start Discourse of Locked Out of Heaven? It's really good. I want to say this, actually, I do not send me hate mail for this. In round one, this beat, All You Need is Love, and that actually was one that I did have on my, like, damn it, I love All You Need is Love. Oh, really? Yeah, I just like to spec it a little bit. I think it's fun. But, you know, we don't need to rehash that. We don't need to get into that. I'm just saying, once again, All You Need is Love, I'm streaming you.

I do have a question, is Vanessa Lynch's on, like, her vocals on that song? Like, Sugar was there. Um, I don't, I don't have reason to believe that. Honestly, I just thought Marley and Monique were singing, I thought they were the only ones. Honestly, I couldn't hear Brittany either, so you're so right. I don't think so. Okay. I know that she's like. She looks great. I, you know what, speaking of Vanessa Lynch's vocals, her and Loveshack, oh, I think she has, like, Glitter on the Mattress or something. Yeah, it's so good. I love Loveshack. Yeah, it's great. Anyway, it's just Marley and Monique. It's just Marley and Monique on the track. And they're killing it, and they're killing it. They're eating, and the girls are eating in the back too.

I like this. I like this, like, the new gen of Glee Gurleys. It's fun. I do really like that Sugar's there, obviously. Um, it just feels, it feels fresh. It does feel fresh. Like a nice little cup of lemonade, right? It's a lot of fun. I love, I do like that episode a lot, Sadie Hawkins. That's during, like, the phase of season four that I'm actually a fan of, before it all falls apart. Yeah. Um, fun episode. Yeah, fun song. Yeah. Yeah. Abby, what are you thinking? I'm gonna eat my cookie. One second. Damn it. I don't really, I don't, for some reason, I don't want to be a hater. I don't think I, like, when I think of songs in this episode, I do like so many of them. But like this, for whatever reason, it has all the elements that I would like.

I don't stream it for some reason. Yeah. You're also a hater of No Scrubs, aren't you? Do you like any songs in this episode? No, I do. I do like, I like, I like Tell Him. No, I do. I love Tell Him. Tell Him is great. Who's even singing each line? They sound so similar. Like, they have similar tones. And even their dancing is on par with each other. Oh my gosh, I love Tell Him. Let's play Tell Him. They match each other's freak on that song. They do. Baby Got Back came up on Shuffle yesterday. And like, honestly, I heard it out. I think that, Abby, you and I have talked about Baby Got Back before. And you know what, I think that you guys need to give it another chance. It's kind of catchy. It's fun.

I don't think I do, but it takes a while. It took me a few years. On the next rewatch, I'll hear it out. Once you get past, like, the lawsuit of it all. I was gonna say, like, legal note, literally legal note. Sure, yes.

[54:38] Abby: Go ahead. Oh, I was gonna say, I finally, I don't know if anybody's talked about this. But I know why Lauren's ICs goes away. It's because her and Joe get shacked up. She doesn't need, she, her and Joe, that's why Joe goes away too, because now they're in love. Because you guys are at the love zone. They're like, literally, they don't, they don't need the glee club. Anyway, they found love. And that's why they're just like, I don't know. Did you see? I don't know. They were making eyes at each other. That was crazy. Do you, for a second, believe that Joe and Lauren make sense as a couple, though? Joe is far too boring for Lauren. Joe, but I feel like that's the thing, like, Lauren is someone who needs someone who's just, like, a pretty man who will just be there.

And that's exactly what Joe is. Just nice to look at, doesn't speak too much, which is a good, you know, it's like, we're going this way. Okay. That's exactly, yeah. Yappers do need, like, a quiet person with them. I guess, yeah, you're convincing me. You're convincing me. I feel like I've been listening to Recovering Gleek talk about, like, Lauren and Sugar in this episode, specifically, how it's the character assassination of both of them. Yeah. With like, the fact that they're in the young, too young to be bitter club. And it's like, wait, yeah, it was confident women on the in the club. Yeah, right. What are they doing there? Like, girl, get out. Boyfriend at this point, what's going on?

Right? This is wild to me. So like that, I don't know. I'm just like, I want the best for Lauren and Sugar. And I don't know, this episode is not it for them. So you're right. And I that was in my mind, too, because I'm constantly listening to Recovering Gleek as well. Big fan of them. And yeah, that was the that's the only thing about Sadie Hawkins. I'm not. It's like, meh. Lauren, come on. Right. And this is like, where we leave the character, too. I mean, she comes back for I Live. She doesn't like do like, there's no character progression past this episode. So it's like, we're leaving on a really weird note with this character. Yeah. And Sugar was like, comically overconfident. And that's like, her whole thing.

Yes. Yeah. It's like, who who wrote this? Tina? Yeah. I knew it was her. Something going on. And where was Roz for I Live, by the way? This has nothing to do with anything. But where is she? I mean, I was thinking about this the other day. Now I can air my grievance out on the public platform. But like, why wasn't Roz Washington there? She was in like, mad episodes.

[57:17] Unknown speaker: Oh, yeah, just a little bit.

[57:20] Unknown speaker: You're the full title legal man, Olympics bronze medalist.

[57:25] Unknown speaker: I don't really have too many things to say about this performance. One of the notes I wrote down was it always does make me feel a little bit uncomfy when they do have these dance numbers and particularly like when the girls are singing and their like their guy counterparts, their love interests are like right next to the stage, like making eye contact with them. And it's like, this is so awkward. Like the camera's back to them. I don't want to, I don't, I don't need to see Jake while she's like, we get it. You're supportive. Let's move on. Pre cheating. We get it. We get it. You're so happy together. Okay. Boring. They tried to play Jolly Rogers so bad. I get it. They're so cute, but like, okay. Like enough clips about him. Let's go back to the girl. Enough.

[58:15] Unknown speaker: Um, what are we, do we have any final notes before we get to voting?

[58:20] Unknown speaker: I don't even know what I'm voting for. That's, I have no idea what I'm going to do. I don't, I don't have a note to say. I'm so scared.

[58:28] Unknown speaker: I feel confident in my vote.

[58:30] Unknown speaker: I do too. Okay. That's good then. Okay, good. You guys go and I'll base it off of you guys. I feel like I know what's going to happen.

[58:38] Unknown speaker: Yeah, I'll do it first.

[58:40] Unknown speaker: Yes.

[58:41] Unknown speaker: Okay. Okay, fine. I'll do it first. Um, I kind of agree with you, Andrew. It's, and it has all the elements of something amazing. I think it sounds good. I don't personally stream it that much. So for that reason, I'm going with Light Up The World. I, I, I'm sorry. Yeah, honestly. I know that the chat's going to be like, I'm sick. But I just, I just, Light Up The World, I think also it has, I don't know, maybe more story element to it. I just love that episode so much. Like the nationals of it, the drama of post-kiss, post-kiss clarity, and then Locked Out of Heaven. Like, it's fun. It's great. But like, they're just performing at prom and it's like, definitely a lower tier prom episode. So it's not, I'm not thinking about it, but I do love the Marleek, um, vocals on it, but like Light Up The World, it's like the solo distribution is so good. I, it's got, it, it really just hits in a way that is, I can't explain. It's so good.

[59:47] Unknown speaker: I agree. There's more, there's more like content there. I feel like I'm getting a fuller meal.

[59:53] Unknown speaker: Right. I totally agree. When I'm, if I, a few times I do stream Locked Out of Heaven, I'm kind of like, I can't picture it and it's like, I need to be picturing the exact context and episode of every single Glee song that comes up and Light Up The World. I know exactly where I am. And, and I'm loving it. I'm loving it. I am in that, I am in that show choir audience. Light Up The World sends us into a hiatus where we can like, just like live in peace. That's like, oh wow. We left on like a really great note. We're going on tour.

[1:00:27] Unknown speaker: No, we're supposed to cast a tour worldwide.

[1:00:30] Unknown speaker: Did they play that on the tour?

[1:00:32] Unknown speaker: No, they didn't. That was not on, no, unfortunately.

[1:00:35] Unknown speaker: You guys don't know, like that song is the reason why they got the tour. Like, oh my God, we love Light It Up. We want to see these kids.

[1:00:40] Unknown speaker: Okay, fair. That's fair.

[1:00:43] Unknown speaker: Wait, this is a bit.

[1:00:44] Unknown speaker: Yes.

[1:00:44] Unknown speaker: This is a bit.

[1:00:45] Unknown speaker: Yeah.

[1:00:45] Unknown speaker: Oh, okay. No, I believe you because I was like, I need to hear this live.

[1:00:51] Unknown speaker: Yeah.

[1:00:51] Unknown speaker: I do this all the time. I just make up stories. It's a fun, quirky thing about, you know, you're just lying in a public place.

[1:00:56] Unknown speaker: Yeah, just let me set it up, you know, how far I'll go.

[1:00:59] Unknown speaker: Okay. Um, Abby, do you, do you, what are you voting?

[1:01:03] Abby: Well, first I'd like to say, I confidently said a Happy Meal No Onions. And I was like, that's a green line, right? And I was like, is it? And I had to go, it is a glee line. Okay.

[1:01:10] Unknown speaker: So I thought I made that up.

[1:01:13] Abby: Um, but it's not. What's the line?

[1:01:14] Unknown speaker: A Happy Meal No Onions.

[1:01:17] Abby: Wait, who said that?

[1:01:19] Unknown speaker: When they're finding like Tina an outfit and she's, they're like, oh, like a biker chick or like, whatever. And she's like, a Happy Meal No Onions.

[1:01:27] Abby: And you thought you wrote that? Write that down. That's so good. Where did that come from?

[1:01:31] Unknown speaker: Like that's gotta be me, right?

[1:01:33] Abby: Um, so anyways, I have so much brain rot. Honestly, I don't know why I'm pretending as if Light It Up wasn't the obvious answer for me, as if I go to reach a block that I haven't ever.

[1:01:43] Abby: Um, Light It Up, again, Santana wrote it about Britney. I love that you're just calling it Light It Up.

[1:01:46] Unknown speaker: I mean, that's like an Imagine Dragons song, right?

[1:01:51] Abby: Dude, every time, every time on an episode, you're always correcting me. You famously will not, you will not get the names right of these songs.

[1:02:00] Unknown speaker: Do you even know that bit on Abbott Elementary, where she like, doesn't know the syllabus names? I'm like, yeah, that's literally Bobby Brown.

[1:02:11] Abby: I loved what the New Directions did with Light It Up. In my head, like, I changed the names of songs and like, it's just what it is to me.

[1:02:20] Abby: Like, I'm looking up Light It Up and hoping, like, the song shows up on Apple Music.

[1:02:25] Unknown speaker: You still get it. They use the same words.

[1:02:29] Abby: When I first started listening to this podcast and someone said, like, Somewhere We Go sometimes, I'm like, what the fuck song is that? It took me several, several episodes to figure it out.

[1:02:40] Unknown speaker: So you're just confusing the listeners.

[1:02:43] Abby: Light It Up. Light It Up.

[1:02:44] Unknown speaker: Because I'm thinking, Light It, Light It, Light It Up.

[1:02:49] Unknown speaker: Dangerous.

[1:02:49] Abby: You can't get it out of your head. That's why. Like, when do they even say Light Up The World?

[1:02:53] Unknown speaker: Oh, wait, they did. Nevermind.

[1:02:54] Abby: They got to not, uh, uh, right. Cut that out.

[1:02:57] Unknown speaker: Wait, wait, wait.

[1:02:58] Abby: Oh, wait. Give up the barking bite. Come on.

[1:03:00] Unknown speaker: Exactly.

[1:03:01] Abby: I'm going, it's a three for three, obviously, for Light Up The World. But, like, also, I'm going to say it. I did not like this competition because this means that I feel like both of these songs should just be going home. It makes the other competitions that much harder. My Man, Four Minutes, Drop, so many of these songs. I'm just like, ooh. It's just, I was hoping for Four Minutes, to be honest. That was one of the duets that I was really hoping.

[1:03:29] Unknown speaker: That's Kurt's best song.

[1:03:32] Unknown speaker: Kurt's best song.

[1:03:33] Unknown speaker: Exactly. Exactly.

[1:03:35] Unknown speaker: Well, Jaclyn, thank you so much for joining.

[1:03:39] Unknown speaker: It's been a pleasure.

[1:03:40] Jaclyn: It's been a pleasure. I'm sorry if I yap too much, you know.

[1:03:42] Unknown speaker: No, no, no. Sorry if I talk too loud, also.

[1:03:45] Jaclyn: Oh my gosh. I am so loud.

[1:03:46] Unknown speaker: No, no, no. No, you're perfect. I love you.

[1:03:48] Jaclyn: I love you, too.

[1:03:50] Unknown speaker: Yeah. Thank you so much.

[1:03:52] Unknown speaker: All right. Till next time. Goodbye.

[1:03:54] Unknown speaker: Goodbye.

[1:03:55] Unknown speaker: Um, okay. We're going into competition number two.

[1:04:00] Unknown speaker: Keeley, Keeley, ready with it.

[1:04:04] Keeley: I am here. Can you hear me?

[1:04:06] Unknown speaker: Oh my gosh. Keeley, the Sue Sylvester shirt.

[1:04:09] Keeley: Oh, thank you.

[1:04:13] Unknown speaker: Um, Keeley, remind everybody what happened last live stream.

[1:04:20] Keeley: Um, so honestly, I thought you warned people when they were going to be on, because everybody seemed so prepared and I missed the last live stream and I was driving home from work and I heard you call my name and I was not there. Um, so I was supposed to do the, just the way you are and being alive competition. And so I've really thought about what my choice would have been. And at first I was like, I think I would have succumbed to the peer pressure of being alive. But then I thought about it and kind of like how you guys were just talking about the family of it all. I really think I would have went the other way. I think I would have been just the way you are, but I'm also starting season three on my rewatch right now.

So there's a little, like what I just watched bias and I really do like being alive, but I think just the way you are is much more wholesome. I'll miss him so much. He's so cute to me. Uh, and I tried to vote for that instead of mine, but nobody wanted to come with me.

[1:05:23] Unknown speaker: No, the minors are just too powerful.

[1:05:26] Keeley: Yeah.

[1:05:26] Unknown speaker: Yeah.

[1:05:27] Keeley: We did.

[1:05:30] Unknown speaker: Oh gosh. Okay. Keely, what are your GLAAC agreements is that you want to air out at this very moment?

[1:05:35] Keeley: Okay. So I'm a, uh, later patron and listener. I think I started listening, like the episode of Jenna and Kevin were on, it's like the very end of round one. And I just want to say, I think poker face deserves some justice. I it's crazy that she, she is out in round one. I love the Glee version. I literally feel like, I don't know. I had too much caffeine or something. If I listened to the Gaga version of poker face now, I can't do it. I love the Glee version and the amount of hate that it gets. Um, I didn't think that not until doing this entire practice of the GLAAC it was, I made aware that people detested that song so adamantly.

[1:06:25] Abby: Audio medium is pointing at herself.

[1:06:30] Keeley: Um, wait, Abby, what do you hate about it?

[1:06:33] Abby: I, in the same, somebody mentioned they love rolling in the deep. I'm so sorry to say, I do not like that song or poker face. I was another one. I was going to bring up rolling in the deep. Don't get that hate either. Just take away.

[1:06:43] Keeley: I don't know. Like poke, like, I don't know. That's just, it's just, I guess maybe too raw for me. I don't know. I just don't like, I don't, I don't retreat at all.

[1:06:54] Abby: You just don't get it. It's okay. I don't get other songs. So you know what we have our, we have our favorites, but Keely, we're in good company with each other. Thank you.

[1:07:03] Keeley: Yes.

[1:07:05] Unknown speaker: Um, what else comes up for you?

[1:07:07] Keeley: Um, so now I feel like I can say this without getting attacked since mine did come back, I do think the right choice was made in the initial competition with, to start with love.

[1:07:16] Unknown speaker: Defend, defend your decision.

[1:07:24] Keeley: Again, the family versus a breakup that didn't really stay broken up. It's a big episode for family.

[1:07:31] Unknown speaker: Yeah.

[1:07:32] Keeley: Maybe I'm a terrible person, but I'm just like good teacher versus a breakup.

[1:07:40] Unknown speaker: Yeah.

[1:07:41] Keeley: Yeah. I, I, it's so good. And you get the, you get the emotional Santana vocal in both songs.

[1:07:48] Unknown speaker: That's what you were saying. You were saying you're like, you guys were talking about that part.

[1:07:51] Keeley: Like you still, you still get a little eat from Santana. And again, like that run, like that whole run from, um, RD and Tina, then it goes to fit a Mercedes to Santana and a Mercedes, like, hello, right? Like, Ooh, fit a Mercedes. They should've sang together more, but nobody wants to, no one wants to put them together and like, what, what's going on?

[1:08:09] Unknown speaker: They're so lovely together.

[1:08:11] Keeley: They did it. And they were like, Oh, that was good. We'll just never do that again.

[1:08:14] Unknown speaker: She said never again, let it happen.

[1:08:17] Keeley: There's only one person not on my watch.

[1:08:22] Unknown speaker: Oh God.

[1:08:23] Keeley: Okay. So Keely that, that, um, I don't know. That was, that was kind of crazy, but you know, very brave for you to say that on a public forum. So thank you.

[1:08:33] Unknown speaker: I support what?

[1:08:34] Keeley: Well, yeah, I also support you. Um, what, what else comes up for you?

[1:08:39] Keeley: Um, since all the original songs keep coming off and people keep talking crap on them. I just want to say in high school, my choir director had us write a senior song and it was never up to the caliber of the Glee kids, so people saying that, like these original songs are terrible, blah, blah, blah. These kids are literally in high school and they're doing way better than like I or any of my classmates ever did. So they don't deserve to get shit on as much as they do.

[1:09:11] Unknown speaker: Let's put it, that's a very good point. Let's put it in perspective. Do you have, okay, this is a, this is a bold ask Keely. Do you have these songs? Because I'm just like curious to hear just how bad they could possibly be.

[1:09:27] Keeley: Um, you know what I will, um, ask for them because I might have them on a CD somewhere because my teacher would give us like a CD of them. But I don't know if I have the CD, but I can reach out to my choir director and ask because they are, he definitely put in the brunt of the work to make it like presentable, I was not a big helper with them, but I think that's a really good point that I think maybe we might be a little bit too hard on these Glee original songs.

[1:09:59] Unknown speaker: To be fair, we've at least done a full album instead of like a, Oh, you guys get to take the CD home to cherish high school. This is put on the, on the billboards.

[1:10:08] Keeley: Uh, yeah, here I am being like, should it be realistic? Should it be really actually terrible?

[1:10:14] Unknown speaker: Yeah.

[1:10:17] Keeley: No, but in terms of like, like putting it into perspective, teenage kids, right. And you're like, light it up as a bop. Loser like me, take out that. I can only be who I are. Everything else is okay.

[1:10:27] Unknown speaker: That's not too bad. They just wanted to rhyme.

[1:10:31] Keeley: I mean, we can only be who we are, but why would it be? I can only be who I are because I think it was the time of, it was the time of Kesha and we are who we are.

[1:10:44] Unknown speaker: Um, wait, wait, wait, isn't there's like a Kesha lyric that is like similar to, but that's also now that I'm thinking about it, we are who we are is correct grammar.

[1:10:57] Unknown speaker: Yes.

[1:10:58] Keeley: I don't know why.

[1:10:59] Unknown speaker: Yes.

[1:10:59] Keeley: I don't know why I conflated that with incorrect grammar.

[1:11:02] Unknown speaker: There is a Kesha lyric that is like, not correct grammar.

[1:11:06] Unknown speaker: I forget what it K is in the chat being like, I'm grasping at straws.

[1:11:10] Keeley: You are so correct.

[1:11:13] Unknown speaker: Um, Kaylee, what else is, what else comes up for you?

[1:11:17] Keeley: Um, honestly, just because rolling in the deep hate already came up and I'm tired of that hate, but that was about it. Honestly. Um, I'm very sad that stronger lost, but it lost to river deep mountain high. So like, that's just, but miss her.

[1:11:37] Broadway Podcast Network: Welcome back to Gleek of the Week!

[1:12:02] Andrew: I'm your host, Andrew, and today we have a live episode with some amazing Gleeks. Joining me are Abby, Jaclyn, Keely, and Kay!

[1:12:27] Abby: Hi everyone!

[1:12:52] Jaclyn: Hello!

[1:13:17] Keely: Hey there!

[1:13:37] Kay: Hi!

[1:14:02] Andrew: So, let's dive into last week's episode with Adam and Nikki. What did you all think about the performances?

[1:14:27] Abby: I loved the energy they brought! It was so much fun to watch.

[1:14:52] Jaclyn: I agree! The performances were top-notch, especially the group numbers.

[1:15:17] Keely: Yes! And I think we need to talk about which song is back on the Glacket this week.

[1:15:37] Kay: Absolutely! It's always exciting to see how the songs are moving through the bracket.

[1:15:57] Andrew: Right? So, which songs do you think would date each other?

[1:16:22] Abby: Ooh, that's a fun question! I think "Locked Out of Heaven" and "Superstition" would make a great couple.

[1:16:42] Jaclyn: I can see that! They both have such a funky vibe.

[1:17:02] Keely: I would pair "Telephone" with "Valerie." They both have that strong female empowerment theme.

[1:17:22] Kay: That's a great match! I think they would totally hit it off.

[1:17:42] Andrew: I love these ideas! Let's keep discussing the songs and their potential pairings.

[1:18:02] Abby: For sure! And I think "All That Jazz" would be a fun one to throw into the mix too.

[1:18:22] Jaclyn: Definitely! It's such a classic.

[1:18:42] Keely: And the performances of that song in Glee were always so vibrant.

[1:19:02] Kay: I think it would date well with something like "Light Up the World."

[1:19:22] Andrew: Great suggestions! Let's keep the conversation going.

[1:19:42] Abby: I'm excited to see where these songs end up on the Glacket!

[1:20:02] Jaclyn: Me too! It's always a surprise.

[1:20:27] Keely: And I love how passionate everyone gets about their favorites.

[1:20:37] Kay: Exactly! It makes for such a lively discussion.

[1:20:57] Andrew: Alright, let's move on to the next song.

[1:21:17] Abby: I'm ready!

[1:21:37] Jaclyn: Bring it on!

[1:21:57] Keely: Let's do this!

[1:22:17] Kay: I'm excited to see what comes next.

[1:22:42] Andrew: Alright, here we go!

[1:23:02] Abby: Can't wait!

[1:23:27] Jaclyn: This is going to be fun!

[1:23:52] Keely: I'm all in!

[1:24:12] Kay: Let's keep the energy up!

[1:24:32] Andrew: Yes! Let's make this a memorable episode.

[1:24:52] Abby: Absolutely!

[1:25:12] Jaclyn: I'm so ready for this!

[1:25:32] Keely: Let's go!

[1:26:27] Abby: Anyway, go ahead.

[1:26:29] Jaclyn: I think it also doesn't make sense to me in terms of like, I don't know, like Mercedes kind of pays unique dust a little bit in that episode, which is like, I wish they would have talked about that. Because they had like a bond in the Thanksgiving episode. That was like, that was her mentor and stuff. So it's like, I wish they would have like, like added that acid. Like, oh, I'm like, we're adding Marley because Marley needs help with confidence and apparently as well. So that would be, that would be nice too. Um, yes. Keeley, what do you think?

[1:26:55] Keeley: Yeah, Keeley, what do you- Just being right after that episode with all the mentoring and everything, like it would have made so much more sense to highlight the new people. And Blaine just isn't a new guy. So he should have backed off. I have no beef with Blaine, but it was just kind of like unique, would have been better suited in that part. I'm gonna even, I, I'm just throwing anything at the wall to see if it sticks. Mike? Mike, Mike Cedes, Mike Cedes, wait.

[1:27:22] Jaclyn: Yeah.

[1:27:24] Keeley: They're dating in this episode and I can prove it. They're dating in this episode. We know that. Yes.

[1:27:27] Jaclyn: It's true.

[1:27:31] Keeley: Uh, yeah. Um, Superstition, I love you so much. It's, it's really just being weighed down by that, that man. You know what you did. You know what you did.

[1:27:45] Jaclyn: You know what you did.

[1:27:49] Keeley: Um, any other points to be made about Superstition? I mean, Marley does sound great. I'll go for that.

[1:27:55] Jaclyn: Yes.

[1:27:56] Keeley: Mercedes sounds good as always. I, I do really like the, um, Mercedes Marley relationship. I wish that they, they explored it more, particularly in the, um, Gleese episode. I just think, you know what, I'm just like retconning the entire thing that like the scene where Marley is in the bathroom and Ryder is the one to give her a speech. Mercedes was in that episode doing close to nothing. And you know what Mercedes had a, had a storyline about in season one, the same storyline that Marley got and season four. So why couldn't Mercedes have been the one to be like, Hey girl, let's get you back on your feet. I'm talking from this experience. Why was Ryder the one? Makes me sick to my stomach.

[1:28:44] Jaclyn: We should have been in that Ryder's room as well.

[1:28:47] Keeley: Yes. And you know what? It was the Ryder's room at that point. It wasn't even the right-

[1:28:53] Jaclyn: I do not like you. I do not like you at all. You are so annoying.

[1:28:59] Keeley: I'm so sad I didn't come up with it first.

[1:29:00] Jaclyn: Just another thing, like, how are they affording to come home all the time? Like they're far away.

[1:29:06] Keeley: Right.

[1:29:09] Jaclyn: Are they even going to class or working wherever they went? Like, how are they just home all the time? It just blows my mind.

[1:29:18] Keeley: It blows my mind. But like, every time that they come back, I'm like, I'm happy to see you.

[1:29:22] Jaclyn: Yeah, I want them there, but how?

[1:29:25] Keeley: Avoid all of your other responsibilities. Yeah.

[1:29:28] Jaclyn: You're just like me. That's real. I should not be home right now. But who do you mean?

[1:29:32] Keeley: Oh, it's Stevie Wonder Week at my high school glee club? Sure.

[1:29:35] Jaclyn: Coming up. I have to fly.

[1:29:39] Keeley: Fly me out, Mr. Shu. Yeah. Superstition. I do love it. I do stream.

[1:29:46] Jaclyn: Spirit.

[1:29:48] Keeley: It's just that man. Again, I will bring it up any chance I get. That man.

[1:29:56] Jaclyn: Any final notes before we cast our votes?

[1:29:59] Keeley: I don't think so.

[1:30:00] Jaclyn: Okay. Do we feel confident in what we're choosing?

[1:30:03] Keeley: I think so.

[1:30:06] Abby: Yeah.

[1:30:06] Jaclyn: Abby?

[1:30:07] Abby: So, I don't know.

[1:30:10] Jaclyn: Who?

[1:30:10] Abby: Yeah, I think so. I think I'm gonna go for what I reach for more.

[1:30:15] Jaclyn: Which is?

[1:30:17] Abby: Oh my god, me first? Okay. I'm gonna go telephone because I reach for that one more. I think it's more iconic, personally, in terms of like, what could like, when I think that one has a better chance at winning just because of how big it is.

[1:30:31] Keeley: Big it is.

[1:30:33] Abby: Not necessarily because it's like the better song because the better song is super superstition. I think in terms of vocals.

[1:30:41] Keeley: No, yeah, I agree with that. What am I saying? But I think in terms of like, which one do I go to like, watch and listen to for a good laugh? Telephone. So it has no, like, merit in terms of like, oh, this is the better song. I don't think it's a better song. I just think it's more iconic.

[1:30:59] Jaclyn: I'm kind of surprised.

[1:31:01] Abby: Yeah, I know. Usually I go for it. Usually I'm very much I'm going for Mercedes, I'm going to vote for any song for Mercedes, I'm gonna vote it through. I think that telephone is just more reach. I was I was giggling and I like that song a lot. I think it's because I like the original telephone more than I like the original superstition.

[1:31:21] Keeley: Well, I listen to it more. So that's I take that song very seriously.

[1:31:27] Abby: That's it. That's it. That's all I have to say.

[1:31:30] Jaclyn: Thank you for thank you for casting your first the first vote here. Keeley, do you do you have a vote on this competition?

[1:31:38] Keeley: I'm always here for a big family moment. So I'm gonna pick superstition. But I understand either way that this one goes, I don't think this could kind of be a like, I don't think either of us are gonna win. But I do love a good family moment over. Especially like, I don't know, I think there's better sunshine moments. So I'm gonna go with superstition.

[1:32:06] Jaclyn: I'm curious, what does what do people in the chat think about this competition?

[1:32:10] Keeley: Yeah, it's so it's this is a fun, calm, lit off. Yeah.

[1:32:16] Abby: People are saying superstition, telephones, superstition, superstition, a little bit more superstition than telephone.

[1:32:22] Keeley: Superstition, who won? I wasn't paying attention. Superstition.

[1:32:28] Jaclyn: Mersocles.

[1:32:29] Keeley: Mersocles.

[1:32:31] Jaclyn: Oh, sure. That's fine. Telephone for the comedy. Superstition telephone.

[1:32:36] Keeley: I think that telephone easy. I feel like it's gonna be like a half and half.

[1:32:40] Jaclyn: Yeah.

[1:32:41] Keeley: Superstition. I like superstition. Like barely one now.

[1:32:45] Jaclyn: I think it's like, it's, it's like obvious for me, but like, I do.

[1:32:52] Keeley: I'm voting superstition.

[1:32:55] Jaclyn: Superstition, the Marley vocals, the Mercedes vocals. And, you know, even even though that man is in the song, it's fine. I can I can mute him. For whatever reason, telephone.

[1:33:08] Keeley: Doesn't do it for you.

[1:33:09] Jaclyn: I just don't have the words for right now. It has a special place in my heart. But I it's like, almost like, oh, it doesn't even like, it's not even a song. It's more of the moment.

[1:33:22] Keeley: No, it's really short. Like maybe three wise telephone would have more of a soy, but the MP4 is pretty short, but it's just like, I don't know to sing in the bathroom and then getting told to shut up.

[1:33:36] Jaclyn: I am streaming superstition more than than telephone, though. I just like superstition is clean. And I think it's like Mercedes. It's Mercedes cutest song in season four season. She's given dust in season four.

[1:33:53] Keeley: It's just cobwebs and tumbleweeds. Superstition is kind of like there and I'm like, wait, I think they just threw in there. They're like, oh my god, we have Mercedes. We haven't done we haven't done nothing with this girl that we've been paying all season.

[1:34:07] Jaclyn: Um, okay, well,

[1:34:08] Keeley: nothing will sink. She's saying that's that.

[1:34:12] Jaclyn: Again, I wish that I could offer you I have offered you a better competition.

[1:34:18] Keeley: Okay, I'll be back for round three.

[1:34:20] Jaclyn: Exactly. We'll have you back on and we'll it will be like my man versus drop and everyone will scream. Yeah, perfect.

[1:34:29] Keeley: All right. Thank you so much, Keely.

[1:34:30] Keeley: Thank you.

[1:34:31] Jaclyn: I might be like, I'm gonna I might be haunted by that, that that telephone vote.

[1:34:38] Abby: But I know I'm so sorry.

[1:34:39] Jaclyn: But it's actually like, okay, because like, to be fair, I didn't have much to say about it at all.

[1:34:45] Keeley: This is my telephone notes. This is my first.

[1:34:48] Jaclyn: Yeah, I only had Rachel funny as fuck. And if we're basing on notes alone, um, okay, okay, let me encode we have, um, K, K, I do see that you are here.

[1:35:06] K: Oh, my God.

[1:35:08] Jaclyn: Wait, K, you're muted still.

[1:35:10] K: I got too excited. Hello.

[1:35:14] Jaclyn: Hello. Hello. How are you doing?

[1:35:16] K: I'm good. I'm also a new Glatron. So I'm like, so so so excited.

[1:35:20] Jaclyn: Oh my gosh, all the new Glatrons here this month. I'm obsessed. Um, okay. Okay. Oh my god, my lights are going. Do you see that's crazy. I don't know what's the energy that I'm bringing to this.

[1:35:29] Keeley: Superstition.

[1:35:35] K: I'm haunting you, Andrew.

[1:35:37] Jaclyn: Exactly. Oh my gosh. Um, K, you know, the question I'm going to ask before ignore, let me just turn off this light, maybe. Um, before we get into your Glacic grievances, actually, what are your thoughts on the competitions that just took place?

[1:35:53] K: Um, two mid-offs, honestly. Um, yeah, I would say I would say Superstition over Telephone because of the Mersocles, the Mercedes. Love a love a portmanteau. Um, yeah, I don't I said this in the chat. But like, one thing we don't talk enough about is Adam Anders is his mixing, and how good his mixes are. Like, it's the reason that so many Glee songs sometimes sound better than like, some of the originals, especially the classic songs. And that is an example where like, I love Stevie Wonder. I love that album. It's top five. I have it on vinyl. But like, I would listen, maybe not top five, but like top 10. But I would still listen to the Gleecast version, like, maybe over the Stevie Wonder version, because it just like it pops. It's clean. It's sparkles. Yeah. So I would take that and then oh my god, I already forgot.

[1:37:00] K: I do not like light up the world. I think it's so bad. I'm sorry. I'm not I don't stream I don't know. I think of the like, lyrically, actually, the verses are okay. But like the choruses, I just the writing is not is not it for me. But I don't really care about Locked Out of Heaven either. So I don't either one could have taken it. You're like, okay, no strong. No, no grievance there. Okay. Okay. Um, speaking of grievances, yeah, what what comes to mind when you think of the grievances? Are we are we talking about round two only? Are we talking about you can talk about literally the floor is yours. If you don't even want to talk about grievances at all, then we can talk about anything that you want to talk about.

[1:37:46] Jaclyn: The first song. You know what, you're not you're not in the wrong for forgetting.

[1:37:51] K: Um, I Okay, so for round two, I feel like all of my grievances for round one are like, they've been done. Like Jesse's girl. Um, you know, my life would suck without you. Like, my biggest one for round one is I kissed a girl. I don't think I think I kissed a girl should have been dead on site on principle. And you're talking about the Pesbary duet, not the not the tolo.

[1:38:15] Jaclyn: Yes. Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes. Yeah. Yeah, it's, it's offensive to me. Like, it's actually like, it makes me kind of really angry that Rachel's on that track. Um, but so like, I don't I don't care what it would have been, I would have put literally any song on the blackhead.

[1:38:33] Keeley: Was it you that in the chat said that, like, it was an egregious edition for me to be an I kissed a girl and for Blaine to be in a superstition? That was you? Okay, both egregious. Yeah. Um, yeah. So for round two, when I get you alone is my favorite warbler song. I audio medium and shaking. No, no, because I agree. Like, I'm so sad that Heather Morris killed when I get you alone. What did it be? It was against it was hemo. He was hemo herself against it was against alone. It was an alone off alone with Yeah, well, and like, when I get you alone, I started watching I think I supported her decision.

[1:39:22] Jaclyn: I really like that song a lot. And my favorite warbler song. It wasn't even on it wasn't even on the show. So I can't even play for her here. It's you think I'm sexy? Yes. Yes. Number one warblers. Um, no, I started watching Glee because of Darren Criss. Because I loved Starkid. So like, obviously, I was in love with Darren Criss. But like him singing when I get you alone. It's like it. Like, true sexual awakening. I'm sorry to say it. But like, that boy singing acapella just did it for me. But it really like I will I will buy up to it any day. I like Adam said in the last episode about like, it was very fun to discover that like, Darren kind of coming into the cast, but like you forced everybody else to kind of like step up their game and away. I love that.

[1:40:15] Andrew: You know what? It was very fun because the first time I chatted with him was not Glacket related. This is his first time on the Glacket. I feel like that baby boy loved doing the Glacket. I got that impression. So like he is welcome back whenever he wants. Like he needs to be on every round because he is messy boots. I have questions for him. I have so many questions for him. He won't answer them. Not in a recorded format. But it was very frustrating to like that like him revealing that he is like his voice was mistakenly, you know, in the broadcast version. And then he was just like, Oh, I also don't remember what song it was. And like, so nobody knows. We're gonna find it. No, we're gonna find it.

He has Fergalicious. He admitted to having Fergalicious. He has them. He has all of them. I'm hacking into the computer. I don't care. Like what are you talking about? It's like AppleCare. I'm like, do you mind if I just control and share your screen? Yeah, like seriously. First of all, that's really confused about because there's not one good Gleek hacker out there. Like it doesn't make any sense. Like get to work because there's several people who we need to hack. Okay, we need to hack Diana Agron because she's always taking pictures and videos. We need to hack Megan Doyle. We need to hack Adam Anders. We need to hack Jenna because I'm pretty sure she has bloopers too. So I don't understand. I don't understand. We're no like, obviously, it's a joke wink wink. But why didn't Kevin and Jenna have? Kevin and Jenna played you something, didn't they? Like on their phone?

[1:41:54] Abby: They played Tell Him. Yeah, they played like a little piece of Tell Him. I know. I don't know if this was released publicly. Someone I know who's close with Jenna shared Glee bloopers. And also what? I love the way you lie. Yeah. But they were like, respectfully, I can't share that. And also like, I'm like, I also kind of don't want that because then I would want to share it with everybody. And then I don't want that.

[1:42:29] Andrew: You don't want that kind of responsibility. No, no, no, no. What's the law against that? My thing is, like, like, obviously, like, oh, like, you don't want to get sued. But I feel like there's a really good way to go. Like there are loopholes and everything. There's a way to pull ourselves into getting and I feel like people not thinking money like, where are the money moves? First of all, because I feel like a Glee album released today would really do numbers like, bring us back to the auction. Yeah, they should do it for charity. Like they should do it for Nia's charity. That's make somebody would buy those bloopers. Like I've been saying if they said, get to 20k get to 30k get to 50k will release a blooper every milestone you hit will release another blooper.

Yeah. Like if you get to 50k we'll release a song. Like, figure it out. Call Ryan. I don't know. Like, lock him up and force him to release something. I don't know do it because like, his name is too big now for it to be like, oh, like we can't because we don't get sued. It's Ryan Murphy has an empire. Now I'm saying he was really but like also like we know that we will get into glacketing. Um, we Ryan Murphy, we know that he's the type that is like, remember when he just like publish a bunch of shit on his personal YouTube. I think it's good. I think it's fun. I think it's sweet. I think I think that's a really great idea. Um, for, you know, like Snakesmith or, or something to, you know, it's just it's for a good cause.

[1:44:05] Abby: Yeah, it's just like everybody's like, like, they send it like, Oh, what can we agree on? You know what, I don't really have one tiny blooper from some random glee party. That's just Leah and Amber. And it's like, I have a video of it. I can send it to you guys. But we and Amber are filming something and Leah is like, don't you? It's like funny. And they're like laughing together. And it's literally like, this is what we need. I just need one little I just need three seconds. Give me three seconds. I'll never ask for anything again until I asked for something again.

[1:45:36] Andrew: I'm gonna push back a little bit because I feel like I need I want the songs to weigh more than the bloopers. Personally, like the bloopers. I would like them. It's just like, I don't know what I would do with it. You know, like, I'm just like, I want the song so much more. The fact that we have a Tell Him filmed performance of where they're like apparently walking on the football field. I'm like, where's that? He wants that. I want it. What do you want? What do you want? What do you want for delicious? I want I want F to the E to the R to the G to the I actually had as a girl. That was great. I'm sorry. I don't think so. But I want for delicious definition. I want to make them boys go loco.

I right. That's what I want. Yeah, and I want and I want the bloopers as well. Very badly. Chat, what do you guys think? Are you going? Or would you want a blooper? How far do we go in the black? If it was in the black without knowing anything about it? I don't think it would go as far as four minutes, which is the obvious comparison.

[1:46:48] Abby: Um, four minutes. Wait, why would that be the obvious? Because it's Kurt and Mercedes duet on the Cheerios. And that's what I'm thinking. Oh, wait, are you going to tell him? Oh, wait. Oh, my bad. Yeah. Um, Tell Him though. I feel like it might have it might have the fabric that is made like it's it's it's covered in the same cloth is like, how will I know I fear? You know? Yeah. That I'm like, they talk about it too. Like, oh, yeah, like, I did my shit on that song. Like, I'm like, okay, they it's anyway that, um, okay. Okay, back to back to Glackett. What? Where do we even leave off? Wait, how do we even get there? We were talking about grievances, sorry, grievances. And then I brought up Adam Anders.

This is all my fault. Okay. Yes. Yeah. So my only other grievance is rolling in the deep versus touch a touch a touch a touch me I just rolling in the deep has my heart. It's so dramatic. It's so intense. It's it makes my theater kid heart sing. And any any second that I have to see Will Schuster without a shirt on is a second too long. And I just don't agree. I just like I really don't like I don't understand that. This is the difference between you and I I suppose. I don't know. That's a hot man. You guys are like being like his body's kind of sick. Like with let's know. And there's something about just the tie that I'm like, it's better than if he didn't have the you know, the tie it does. I like it. But is it you that talks about his his turtle face?

[1:48:47] Abby: I think it's that's the end. Yeah, I get the glidecasts mixed up. I'm a big fan of both. I was like, his name is like, I think I think before I ever saw a picture of Andrew in my head, he just looked like Ian Allred. Like it was just two years in my mind. So real. I've interchanged them. So the highest compliment is like a brunette man, a blonde woman. It's like, okay. We are the tethers. This is us. Yeah. Yeah. No, that that is not my bit. I would I would like to say it is but it's not. Yeah. But wait, so touch a touch a touch me you hate it and you like a rolling the deep also legal note. As of two weeks ago, all St. Barry duets are gone. That's actually so sad, because I really liked listen to your heart.

But I think it lost versus something that I think it needed to lose against. I don't remember. But I remember being like, being like, that's fair. But, uh, no rolling in the deep really, really hurt my feelings. Actually, that hurt me personally. Sorry. I'm here. I showed up anyway. We're breathing. We're alive. I'm afraid to ask is there are there more things that make you like I mean, I have a whole but I don't have to go into all of it. I have a whole grievances. Like we can but the floor is yours. What do you want to I'll like speed run them on how to be a heartbreaker versus shout I would pick heartbreaker because it's so dramatic. I'm sensing a theme express yourself versus here comes the sun.

I just don't really I would have picked express yourself. I love a group number like a group number is almost always going to win out for me. Never can say goodbye versus songbird. I don't even know what songbird is. But I went back to the blackhead to make this list. And I was like, you don't know. You don't know what's so close to the camera.

[1:50:49] Andrew: I know I said I don't like that. Because now we're just like, I feel like people were on my side. Now they are not. They're not on my side. Mountains with these opinions. What's going on? Like you never watched the episode like you skipped it. Like I'm actually genuine. I couldn't I could not tell you who sings it. I could not tell you what season it's in. Do you still not know what songbird is? I don't know. I'm sorry. I don't I don't. That's so funny. I just like I think respectfully. I love you. questioning whether I'm a gleek. That's really intense. Also, it's been established that I mean, like you're also here. You've been in this in this stream for upwards of two hours. You've established that you've listened to other Glee podcasts.

And now you're you're there. You're Gleekness. I'm not a huge Santana stan. Like I, I like her character. I love Naya. She's beautiful. Like I don't Britannia doesn't do it that much for me. That's why I'm I've been leading the charge against mine. I don't know if you've noticed. People are going wild. I just don't care. I'm a queer woman like I should care but I just don't care that much about Britannia. I have a lot of issues with Britannia. Okay, I have a question. Okay. Okay, because is it like a because as a gay man, I really like Britannia. Yeah. Where is it for queer women? It's claimed for us.

[1:51:26] Abby: That's y'all. And Amanda agrees. Annie too, because don't put that's a half and half. That's a half and half. I'm on the other half. I'm on. That's so funny. Okay, stand in your truth, though. I really, I really love this. But I do. There are a lot of people who like queer people, queer women specifically love. Yeah, like, it's a very big. Yeah, it's a very my issue with Britain. We don't have to make a whole Britannia podcast. My issue with Britannia, I think it's really soured for me by like, the gaslighting that goes on early in their relationship and the way Santana kind of manipulates her. And it really like it just like really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. And it kind of sours like the rest of their like, like she literally says like, No, you should sleep with me because it doesn't count because XYZ.

And that like, that makes me uncomfy. And I also like, I think Santana for me is like a little too mean for my taste, like, just a little bit too much. Sure. Yeah. But like, much love. Naya's amazing. Legal note, do not attack K. Do not attack this woman. This is nothing against Naya or Himo. Love them both. But yeah, the Yeah, I just like any any like Britannia stuff is not gonna like hit for me as much as it's just not in my mind. Yeah. Anyway, before anyway, they found your address. Um, wait, so further the speed round. What what's next?

[1:53:05] Abby: Okay, I'm almost done. I swear. Um, my favorite things versus pure imagination. I love pure imagination. It's so beautiful. And it I just think it this for the sentimentality and the fact that it's a group number and it's team versus like another Rolo like we don't need I know that Rolos have kind of gotten my favorite things isn't a Rolo. I'm gonna stop you right there. Whoa, clean. You're right. I'm so sorry. Um, my favorite things is Rachel Mercedes and You're right. I'm so sorry. If I guess it feels like a Rolo because it's so Rachel coded. No, because Leigh Michelle did. She's like, she has like a my favorite things. Like, um, version that is, you know, just her. Sorry. Yeah, no, you're good. I'm a respected, respectable journalist redacted. Um,

[1:54:02] Andrew: Buenos Aires versus problem. I would have picked Buenos Aires. I think problem is one of the worst it might be the worst unholy trinity number. I'm just not a fan. I don't know. There's like singing so high. It's out of their range. They don't sound that good. I don't know. I'm sorry. One person sounded good on that song. I've said it before.

[1:54:36] Abby: And then, I would say Hungry Like the Wolf, Slash Rio, versus Uninvited. I loved that. Uninvited is a rare Rachel moment, where like, she's doing that growl, she's got that like rock feel, it's emotional. I would take that any day.

[1:54:53] Abby: I regret that. I'll say that. I should have voted for Uninvited.

[1:54:56] Abby: I don't think Uninvited is going to go that far. So it's like, it's whatever, but it's not like one of my darlings got killed. But, um, yeah, that's pretty much, that's it. That's it for round two for me.

[1:55:09] Kay: Okay.

[1:55:11] Abby: I'm glad those were exercised. I feel good.

[1:55:14] Jaclyn: Yeah, I'm always curious. How do people feel when they, when they're able to finally, because I know that so many people keep like notes for this very moment, to like, it's a good feeling to just release.

[1:55:28] Abby: Who in the year of our lord 2024 is talking to me about Glee? Nobody, that's who.

[1:55:34] Abby: Especially through the lens of the Glackett.

[1:55:37] Abby: What a wonderful community, glameenity you've built here. And I'm so happy that I can talk to everybody, even when they are screaming at me in the chat.

[1:55:45] Jaclyn: They're so mad at you. Um, okay. Um, but I think it will make for a very fun competition. Kay, what are we manifesting? I would assume that you want a better competition than the two competitions that just took place.

[1:55:58] Kay: I know everyone says like, Oh, I want to fight. I want to fight. I would love to fight. But also, I would really love to send make sure that one of my darlings gets to go through like one of the ones that like me is like, I think kind of a sleeper hit underrated, maybe on the Glackett like doesn't get talked about as much, but it's still a very heavy hitter.

[1:56:17] Abby: Which one?

[1:56:18] Kay: Oh, I like, like, I have a my own list, probably. But I mean, like, okay, immediately comes to mind a survivor, I will survive, which I feel like we did not talk about enough. It's my favorite song on Glee. Audio medium Abby's doing the hand.

[1:56:34] Abby: So funny. They're like voguing. Right? Yes. Um, and I love that song so much. I actually did that in my acapella group. I like did an arrangement of it. And we sang it. It was really fun. Oh, I love that.

[1:56:49] Abby: If you if you want it, if the Greeks want it, um, I yeah, like that, or I'm looking at the playlist, I would say like, like, like somebody to love needs to go through and needs to but that probably is going to go through no matter what.

[1:57:10] Kay: New York State of mind is big for me. I see that in the shower a lot. I've been like, particularly scared for because I don't know what it is that I'm like, I just have a bad aura around her for some reason. I really want the best for her. But I think that she's gonna have a nasty matchup.

[1:57:26] Kay: And she's like, people are gonna want to sleep on her. But no, and then jump, jump needs to go through. Jesse's girl needs to be safe in round three, since it was already so they tried to you guys tried to kill it.

[1:57:40] Abby: We tried to get rid of Jesse's girl, but it rose from the ashes.

[1:57:43] Kay: Yeah, there's there's I want to send through one of my babies. Okay, okay. All right. Got it. All right. We have so much context for you. Okay. Too much, maybe. No, no, this is great.

[1:58:01] Abby: Oh, okay. Finally, here are the heavy hitters.

[1:58:03] Kay: Here we go. And it's scary when like the heavy hitters the first song in the competition because it's like, okay, it really, I'm scared. Um, let's guess. Let's guess. I've already established I'm not a real Gleek. So I won't be able to guess.

[1:58:22] Jaclyn: No, no, you are. You will you will have this year. You're setting me up for failure.

[1:58:26] Abby: Oh, come on. Come on. Like, let's talk about it.

[1:58:29] Abby: Oh, this is Valerie. But this is Valerie.

[2:04:11] Abby: It's her first song.

[2:04:12] Abby: She came with something to prove.

[2:04:13] Abby: First solo.

[2:04:14] Abby: It hasn't sunk in.

[2:04:15] Abby: Like I always say, somehow, Brittany sang before her.

[2:04:18] Abby: So now she has to come in with a bang.

[2:04:20] Abby: Y'all can't disrespect me.

[2:04:21] Kay: Y'all can't disrespect me.

[2:04:23] Abby: Wait, no, Brittany didn't.

[2:04:24] Abby: Legally, no.

[2:04:25] Kay: Brittany didn't sing.

[2:04:26] Abby: Yes, she did.

[2:04:27] Kay: Brittany had a solo before her.

[2:04:30] Abby: Yes, she had a solo before her.

[2:04:31] Kay: That's what I mean.

[2:04:32] Abby: You know what I'm saying?

[2:04:33] Kay: So now she's coming up with a big bang.

[2:04:34] Abby: I have some things to say.

[2:04:35] Abby: First of all, OK, I'd like to say.

[2:04:37] Abby: Audio medium.

[2:04:38] Abby: Sorry, Abby grabbed a notebook.

[2:04:40] Abby: Yeah, this is great.

[2:04:42] Abby: I'd just like to say, because we were talking about how when Adam came on, he was talking about how they have the people do the back, the vocals.

[2:04:47] Abby: What do they call it?

[2:04:49] Abby: Before they let the people come on and sing the real deal.

[2:04:53] Abby: What is it?

[2:04:54] Kay: Oh, the demo.

[2:04:55] Abby: The demo.

[2:04:56] Abby: She says, this is a story on her end, in the background.

[2:05:01] Abby: They gave her the demo.

[2:05:02] Abby: Listen to this.

[2:05:03] Abby: And she's like, no, I'm not listening to it.

[2:05:04] Abby: I'm doing it.

[2:05:05] Abby: I'm stepping into the studio.

[2:05:06] Abby: I didn't want to hear it.

[2:05:07] Abby: I know the song like the back of my hand, OK?

[2:05:09] Abby: She ate that up.

[2:05:10] Kay: And she doesn't.

[2:05:11] Abby: She knows like the back of her hand for real.

[2:05:13] Abby: OK.

[2:05:14] Abby: Amazing vocals.

[2:05:15] Kay: Well, I say it's her best solo.

[2:05:16] Abby: Well, I sit down here and say, I think it's the best.

[2:05:18] Abby: So I think it's like whatever.

[2:05:19] Abby: I think it's her best solo, like in terms of like.

[2:05:23] Abby: Not because it's like the best song, but because it has a bigger moment in that way.

[2:05:27] Abby: It's more iconic.

[2:05:28] Kay: But I don't think it's her best solo.

[2:05:29] Abby: I don't even think I can like say in my head what I think her best solo is between like Nutbush.

[2:05:34] Abby: And I really love Alfie.

[2:05:36] Abby: Back to Black, I think, is a better Amy cover than Valerie comparatively.

[2:05:41] Abby: I think that's like I think she's just such an amazing artist.

[2:05:44] Abby: And any solo is a good solo.

[2:05:46] Kay: It's an amazing solo.

[2:05:47] Abby: OK.

[2:05:48] Abby: Other things I have to say.

[2:05:49] Abby: This dance choreography is not even.

[2:05:51] Abby: It's not even from Valerie.

[2:05:52] Abby: It's from season one.

[2:05:54] Abby: Ladies of Tramp, the season one tour.

[2:05:56] Kay: I love how they reused it.

[2:05:58] Abby: And it's.

[2:05:59] Kay: No, really?

[2:06:00] Abby: Yep.

[2:06:01] Abby: Look at the receipts.

[2:06:02] Abby: Go look up Ladies of Tramp season one tour.

[2:06:04] Abby: It's the exact same.

[2:06:05] Kay: It's the exact same choreography.

[2:06:06] Abby: They did Lady as a Tramp on tour?

[2:06:09] Kay: And they did something really special with Lady as a Tramp on tour because they I think they knew they knew that Santana was like kind of the people were eating up the little that we had of Naya at the time.

[2:06:19] Kay: They put they put they instead of just like having it be a Puck and Mercedes duet, like it wasn't in the damn show.

[2:06:26] Kay: They put Santana on the on the Glee Live set and they made a trio, which I think is very inspired and very cute.

[2:06:34] Abby: Very inspiring.

[2:06:35] Kay: She sounds great.

[2:06:36] Abby: They sound great at the end.

[2:06:37] Abby: And it's like so good.

[2:06:38] Abby: So you can go back, add this to the carousel because that that dance is that it was reused.

[2:06:42] Abby: And perfect.

[2:06:43] Abby: And I also love the part where Fit is like passing her by and he's looking at her.

[2:06:46] Abby: And I'm just like, that's so it's so like, oh, I'm so proud.

[2:06:48] Abby: Like, I'm so proud.

[2:06:49] Abby: Like, obviously, they just leaved just two minutes ago before.

[2:06:52] Abby: So it's probably it's like more of like a choreo looking at in my moment.

[2:06:55] Kay: So I just like feel like I just feel so like nostalgic for that moment, too, because it's just like so sweet.

[2:06:59] Kay: It's like, oh, my friend is doing a really big thing.

[2:07:01] Abby: It's so sweet.

[2:07:03] Jaclyn: The chat is having like a conversation about what's her best solo.

[2:07:08] Abby: It's so good.

[2:07:09] Jaclyn: There's like a whole list.

[2:07:10] Abby: Like without looking at a list, except Stephanie brought a list.

[2:07:13] Kay: Thank you so much, Stephanie.

[2:07:15] Abby: Yes.

[2:07:16] Abby: Yeah.

[2:07:17] Abby: So these are all the things.

[2:07:18] Abby: Oh, and ever since Kevin and Jenna stated that, like, the background dancing, like they didn't know what they were doing, like the only people who knew what they were doing were like Heather and Harry and like Naya.

[2:07:29] Abby: Ever since then, I look in the background and I see moments of like, wow, they really have no clue what's going on.

[2:07:33] Kay: The dancing is just not all together.

[2:07:35] Abby: It's not me at all.

[2:07:37] Abby: I'm just like, oh, my God, this is terrible.

[2:07:39] Kay: But that's so great.

[2:07:41] Abby: Britt and Mike are so good that it distracts you that everything in the back.

[2:07:46] Kay: That's just mismatched.

[2:07:47] Abby: Don't even look at them.

[2:07:50] Kay: I was looking in the back.

[2:07:51] Abby: It looks good in the back.

[2:07:52] Kay: Like, I always like to look in the background.

[2:07:54] Abby: Like, it looks better than light up the night.

[2:07:57] Kay: Like, it looked better than light up the night.

[2:07:59] Abby: Oh, great.

[2:08:00] Kay: It looks better than Florence Isis booping the floor with one finger.

[2:08:12] Abby: Yes, I disagree with that aspect, with that part.

[2:08:16] Abby: I do think they look terrible in the back of this song.

[2:08:18] Kay: Unfortunately, unfortunately, I think there's a really cute moment between like Sam and Tina.

[2:08:23] Abby: Yeah.

[2:08:24] Kay: Yeah.

[2:08:25] Abby: Sorry.

[2:08:27] Kay: No, I just think I'll include it in the carousel.

[2:08:29] Kay: It's like it's just a very cute moment where I think like, is it Sam?

[2:08:33] Kay: That's like on the he's seated for some reason.

[2:08:37] Kay: And then Tina comes over and she's like, I don't know what even.

[2:08:40] Abby: Yeah, because I don't think anybody else was doing that.

[2:08:43] Kay: Because it was like it was like, oh, my God.

[2:08:46] Kay: Do you know that like video?

[2:08:47] Kay: It was like I remember like they showed it in like psychology class in high school where it was like there was like a.

[2:09:25] Abby: Um, this this song, I remember we were, it was a high school track meet, and we were driving home. And Glee the Music Volume 4 was the CD of choice that day, as it was many days. And I remember my mom, I don't know what kind of mood she was in, but I think that it was like, probably a bad one. And I remember like, she was skipping through Glee the Music Volume 4. And I remember there was like, one time specifically that she, we listened to Valerie, she skipped to the next, like, the next song started, like heard the beginning of every single other song on the album, and then was like, skip, skip, skip, until we were back around to Valerie. And then we just like, listened to Valerie again. And it's like, that's, that's the power of this song, truly.

It has my smile come ear to ear, like, literally, I literally drew a smiley face. That's how happy I was to be, to be here. I've never been so happy that I've been compelled to draw a smiley face. So that's, that's powerful. Um, I, I'm just so scared for her. I fear that this is not gonna, this is gonna be nasty work. I feel like it's gonna be, I hope, like, just pull up, pull out a mid song. But now, you say that, but now that you have pulled a heavy hitter, I kind of do want to fight now. Like, now that it's started, I kind of want to fight. It's always these final competitions. I'm an Aries, what can I say? I'm a Cancer, I'm gonna cry.

[2:11:01] Andrew: Okay, so it's clearly this song, you see this, right?

[2:11:04] Abby: Oh my god, no. Wait, Andrew.

[2:11:08] Andrew: Yeah. Yes.

[2:11:13] Abby: Audio medium, Andrew did the, like, the, like, what's the meme of the Aries?

[2:11:17] Andrew: I'm about to throw up.

[2:11:23] Abby: I don't think that you need to throw up. It's kind of sad for me.

[2:11:27] Andrew: Wait, let me see. Let me see.

[2:11:28] Abby: Okay, audio medium, we're looking at fingers about to touch a stereo system. I'm actually stumped. Can I get a season?

[2:11:35] Andrew: It's season four.

[2:11:37] Abby: Oh, yeah, that's why I'm stumped. It's probably gonna lose, whatever it is.

[2:11:41] Andrew: Yeah, you can, you can give me a, who sings it?

[2:11:45] Abby: Oh, Center? It's, it's a no, it's not Centerfold. It is. It's, it's Rachel.

[2:11:51] Andrew: Oh, is this the one where she's like singing to herself or something? And it's like, double her?

[2:11:55] Abby: No, it's, do you want me to just tell you?

[2:11:57] Andrew: Yeah.

[2:11:58] Abby: It's All That Jazz.

[2:12:00] Andrew: You like her so much.

[2:12:01] Abby: I do. I do like this song. I do scream.

[2:12:16] ♪ Musical number: "All That Jazz" — performed by Rachel Berry ♪

[2:14:15] Abby: So sad. That just made me like, sad that this is this is this is her swan song from the episode swan song. All that jazz. I have so many notes for here for this song. Um, do do you mind if I start?

[2:14:36] Andrew: No, go ahead. This is your I can see you're grieving.

[2:14:39] Abby: I okay. So legally, this is a note. And there. This was a song that was voted out. Oh my gosh, it was voted out against. Um, so it the competition in round one initially was all that jazz versus listen to your heart. And, and listen to your heart won. And I was very sad about it. And when the time came to like, present what song because in round one, I presented like we were doing the thing where I presented the song that I would like to have back and then Alison did hers. And I brought I chose to bring back all that jazz and it won. That's why she's here today. Gosh, I love this so much. It is like, so so good. It's like the best. It is argue with the wall. This is the best Cudson number. The illness show.

It's so freaking good. Like, I mean, she didn't she was given dust. But this one clears everything else. Um, it made me think in regards to this competition that we were remiss of a Santana and Cudson scene. I know that they're vocally on the same song with their worst things I could do. There was just so much potential that could have been explored there. That was not. I guess I never realized before. I'm just like really going through this entire laundry list of notes. I never realized before and this is stupid on my part. That Rachel makes an alcoholism joke at at because July that like right up here is where I store the juice. And I'm like, Whoa, that was for one ballsy. But to if we were gonna like, K is leaving to if we were like, the way they talk about alcoholism in the show, the only the most they do with alcoholism is with April.

They hint at it with not one but two characters and they don't do it fully fledged through which I'm like it could have been it could have been interesting. I'm talking about Miss Judy for Bray. And also K come became like, is that alcohol that you have? I just stole the juice. She stored it. And she's brought it seeing Cassie on screen made me realize that I wanted a glass of wine. So perfect. Um, so I'm just like, I don't know. I think they did this weird thing with Cassandra July and Judy for Bray, where they're like, okay, they're alcoholics. But like, are we actually going to like delve into that as a potential plot? They're functional alcoholics. So essentially, what's going on here is that now isn't like, technically, they're technically alcoholics, because they need, they need alcohol.

This is a whole, this is a medical lecture. This is addiction awareness. Yeah. But I think it's I think it's what's so interesting about Drie and Quinn for Bray, this has nothing to do with anything that you're talking about, is that they leave such subtle things like subtle hints about her parents that you can, you can infer so much about Quinn and the way she is because of the little comments that they say, which I think it's so sometimes, sometimes the writers, sometimes they write, sometimes they write stuff, and it's good.

[2:18:00] Andrew: I think that's a really good point. I mean, because I feel like when I'm coming from the perspective of like, oh, I wish that they did more with that. But I feel like it just informs the audience and doesn't actually need to be a whole thing, especially I'm talking about Judy for Bray. Um, that it like we just like understand the like the subtext and we can read between the lines of what Judy for Bray, always having that glass of wine on her infers and it doesn't need to be an entire plot.

[2:18:27] Abby: They strapped to it.

[2:18:28] Andrew: I do say strapped with that. She's like the mom in the Legally Blonde musical who always yes, martini. Love.

[2:18:34] Abby: Right. Right. And it doesn't we don't need to whole like, break down, you know, going going to have a intervention with Judy for Bray, even though would have loved more Judy for Bray. But we're talking about all that jazz. Um, last note that I have is, I remember I wrote an entire scene, like, in high school of Kate Hudson singing Miss Baltimore Crabs. And I was just like, this just works too well. That like, why didn't they do it? And I don't know, would have loved it.

[2:19:08] Andrew: I agree. I don't know what that is. But you're such a genius. I don't even care.

[2:19:12] Abby: Miss Baltimore crabs from okay. Okay. K is looking at you in shock. Hey, you were on a Glee podcast. You don't want to hear you're on a Glee podcast and you don't know anything about hairspray. So those two things are equal. It's hairspray. Yeah.

[2:19:31] Andrew: You know, it's crazy. I love hairspray. I just don't know that you I just called it called it a song. I don't know. I don't know these songs. Good morning, Baltimore. Like I proved myself. Stop. I know it. I know hairspray. I love hairspray. It's the song that Amber's mom sings where she's like, I was a beauty queen once.

[2:19:51] Abby: It's that song.

[2:19:52] Andrew: I didn't like because sometimes I be so much a character that just skip through their parts. Because she gets to know that song is so fun. I want to play that role someday. I'll go back. Can I come to the Can I come? Can I walk? Yeah, I don't have to wait till I'm like 50. But yeah, sure.

[2:20:09] Abby: Um, okay. I have gone through all of my notes for all that jazz. You know where I stand on this girl. I love her so much. She is very beautiful to me who wants to pick up the conversation from here.

[2:20:21] Keely: Okay, I don't have things to say.

[2:20:25] Abby: Okay. Okay. I don't have any notes. I only have only have fun. But I do the only thing that you wrote down. I would get no smiley face. I got this. There's no smiley face. I will say I streamed this on. I when I went to see Chicago, I was sitting in the audience. I was like, Wow, I know a lot of these songs. How do I know? And I was like, Oh my god, this thing is on Glee. Thank you for Glee. Thank you Glee because they taught me so many. They taught me so many songs. But um, I stream all that jazz. I do like this song. I like this song a lot. I think it's so fun. So it's fun. It's fresh. It's fun. It's fresh. It's fun. It's not making it for me. In terms of Valerie comparison. You know, I don't think it's fun. It's fun. It's fun. You know, it's one of my guilty pleasure pleasure songs along with um, oops, I did it again. I actually fucking love that.

[2:21:13] Abby: Gleecast version by Gleecast.

[2:21:16] Keely: I love they did something a little silly goofy with the arrangement there. Like, I love the flashlights, the tables. Like the performance? No. But like, I'll listen to that. I'm just like, yo, lowkey.

[2:21:29] Abby: The chat says no.

[2:21:31] Keely: Chat doesn't agree with me but I don't care. Like the harmonies at the end. They get to me like I listen to it. It's like one of it's in the same vein as like Rachel's Take a Bow. It's nowhere as good as the original but there's something so funny and like about it that it's making it good. Like I think Take a Bow is trash but I

[2:21:47] Abby: wait what are you relating these songs? Are you relating these songs to all that jazz?

[2:21:53] Keely: Wait, what do you

[2:21:53] Abby: take about I'm relating Take a Bow to all that jazz where it's like they're not necessarily good.

[2:21:56] Keely: Yeah, but I like to listen to them because it's like it's so I love both. It's like you know, I love the performance is not good. I'm not saying that she's moving on the table that she's doing anything special. She's not the performances and you know, I'm saying like, oh, sorry to you. I know you guys are mourning. I'm so sorry. But but in terms of Oops, I Did It Again, Oops, I Did It Again is what they wanted Cold Hearted to be. And they never got there.

[2:22:23] Abby: Oh, that's a good point. I think that well, they needed the groundwork of Oops, I Did It Again to get to Cold Hearted.

[2:22:29] Keely: Maybe yeah.

[2:22:30] Abby: Or maybe some respect on Cold Hearted.

[2:22:34] Keely: No, I'm saying no, I'm saying good respect. I'm saying okay, okay. Okay, I'm what they wanted. Oops. I want like they wanted that like, oh, you know, I'm saying they wanted it.

[2:22:43] Abby: Right, right, right, right. I mean, she was just they were just turning the table.

[2:22:52] Keely: Anyways, they they realized in that performance how they could really use the space. And you know, you're not gonna you're not gonna mess. They're not gonna get a masterpiece on the first try. And then they're like, wait a minute. Let's try it again.

[2:23:03] Abby: But with scaffolding.

[2:23:05] Keely: Yeah.

[2:23:10] Abby: And what's and McEffort, Ashley McEffort. Is that her name?

[2:23:10] Keely: Yeah, Ashley Effort.

[2:23:14] Ashley Edwards: Yeah, I think that's her name. Either way, she's like, she's Beyonce's dance captain. And I paused. It's like, Beyonce? Dance captain? Oh, is she in this performance? She's in Cold Hearted. I'm like, what's she doing here? Girl, girl. It has nothing to do with anything. This is fun. I wonder if Hemo brought her on. Maybe Hemo brought her in. You're gonna love this number. Yeah. You're gonna love this. I have a song. I have a performance for you. Um, okay. Kay, what are you? What are you thinking?

[2:23:45] Kay: I love her. You're right, Andrew. I'm sad that she's not gonna go through realistically. I do think it's fun. I like started cackling, like five seconds in because Cassandra starts dancing. And I don't... where did Kate Hudson learn how to dance? Like, is she a Broadway baby? Like, is she a Broadway baby? What is her? Because she's a dancer. Like, she looks amazing. She's doing she's really flexible. She's doing some amazing stuff. And Rachel is just kind of like, okay, not bad. And I'm just cackling. Miss girl, we all know what is about to happen. You're about to do nothing. And you're about to give us nothing. And you can see like, her mom is Goldie Hawn. Oh my god, really? Who is that? Yeah.

And Kurt Russell is her dad. That's actually... Right. I know. She's double. Wow. Double nipple. These nipple babies in disguise are like her Dakota Johnson, like these disguised nipple babies. So yeah, like, oh my god, Rachel is embarrassing. Like, you can see the camera will like show her legs, because she looks good, like aesthetically. And then but like, the second she goes to move her foot, the camera cuts away and goes to like a mid shot or a close up of her so that you don't have to see that she's not actually dancing very well. Like the camera is trying so, so hard to obscure the fact that she is not dancing. But it doesn't work. Because yeah, she's just being carried around. It's it's crazy.

Like, and she actually has the audacity. I just at the end of this performance, doesn't she say like, Cassandra, you may be a better dancer than me. And I'm like, no, baby girl, like, she is a better dancer. That was just filmed, Rachel. We can roll back the tapes. We have the tapes. We have the tapes. It's crazy. And like, I don't know. And then Rachel's really just like, trying to be sexy. And it's just it's embarrassing. Yeah, it's just I think it's a fun bit when Rachel tries to be sexy. It's so funny to me. But it's not that she fails so much. Girl, give it up. Yeah, but it's like It's not your strength. Let it go. Yeah, I feel the show doesn't, the show doesn't know that I eat like, it's not like push it, you know, where it's like, Oh, played for laps.

Played for that. Yeah, like they really want us to be like, see, look how hot she is now that she's in New York and she's got black eyeshadow on. Yeah, it's it's not cute, Rachel. Yeah, it's embarrassing. But it is it's a great it's a good number. They both sound really good. And because like Kate Hudson is killing it. Like she's so flexible. Yeah, yeah. But it is no Valerie. Unfortunately, the move that Cudson does where she has she's in it. She's in a straddle. And then she does the flip around like a rotisserie chicken. It's crazy. Oh my god, visual. Thank you. Um, yeah, no, it's wild. Both of these performance performances actually have a lot more in common now that I think about it. We have we have crazy dance moves by blonde women.

And also we have we have Lea Michele dancing highlight reel provided by both songs. So you know what? Cool. Yeah. Um, and also I have one related distantly. That's a legal note. Very, very related. They're fourth cousins. 23 and me and they were like, Oh, I didn't know. 0.7 match. They would still date. They're not closely. Would they would they still date after they found out that they're related? No, Valerie, Valerie would never say all that jazz. It's talking about they wouldn't break up because of that. But Valerie would dump all that jazz because she's just better. And I would never got with all that. I think that I don't think that they're, I don't know. They're that include this in future rounds of the black hit.

We're like, what would they get married dated? Are they related? Are they related? Would they break up if they found out that they are related? Good. I know. But the legal note that I wanted to share is that I believe, OK, because I think that all that jazz is inevitably going home. And they feel like Amelia, please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't think that you're here right now. But but I feel like all the songs that have been voted or, you know, have come back from the dead have that we've pulled so far in round two have advanced on to round three. I have this list. OK, I have the black open the songs that are voted back. I feel like they've all fared well and in round three so far, like a prayer, like a prayer is seeing round three.

Jesse's girl, Jesse's girl has not been pulled yet. Blame it on the alcohol. Blame it on the alcohol was voted out, but also voted back in again. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. Resilient. Trouty Mouth did not make it. No, Trouty Mouth is still around. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. So emotional. So emotional is around three. Famously. All that jazz. I still believe Super Bass around three. Yes. And Broadway Baby. Broadway Baby. I don't think that we've pulled yet. Yeah. So. OK. So, yeah, they're doing well. Editing Andrew back again. I just want to say that Broadway Baby was already pulled in round two and it won against Gold Digger. So that supports this entire theory. Back to the episode. That makes sense because they're beloved enough that people thought they deserved a second chance out of a hundred songs, you know.

Yeah. Yeah. With that being said, we got to vote. I know where it's going to fall, but let's just do the action of doing it. I would like to cast my vote for my mother, Valerie. Love you, girl. Love you. Love you down. Yeah. Yeah. She's taking it. She's taking it. Before we even finish voting. How far do we think Valerie can make it? Bro, I think. Far. She's going so far. She's going far. She's going far. It's getting sweet. Listen, we have to we have to have in our minds that. Certainly through round three. Like quarter, like finals is getting fun because look, all of their like all the characters, like big solos, you know what I'm saying? They're going straight through like we don't it's like unless versus each other, like if they're if they have a path to stay away from each other, like if someone we know or whatever goes against Valerie, that's like, OK, one of them has to go.

But if it's versus like a bunch of other songs where it's just that they're not as iconic, they're not staples. It's it's it's for the rest of them. It's over. It's Joe over. Yeah. Round three is definitely going to be the final round where we have like any mids I feel or like if we have any mids in round four, it's going to be like a couple here and there. But like I feel like round three is going to be the real like culling. And then after that, it's going to get really scary. It's going to be a horror movie. The thing that I that really one of the things that really excites me about the continuation of the Glocka is seeing which of these songs, just by proxy of what competitions they're in, are going to like Crush, for instance, like I'm just excited to see like Crush.

Does Crush even have a competitor that's in round three that it could potentially win against? Like I think that there is a song that Crush could win against and I would be excited to see that possibility. Are there songs that went through this episode before this competition? I would take Crush over them.

[2:31:33] Kay: I wouldn't. Superstition, Light Up the World?

[2:31:35] Ashley Edwards: No, I wouldn't. I would take Superstition over Crush, but I probably would take Crush over Light Up the Tonight World or whatever.

[2:31:42] Kay: Yeah, Light It Up, Light It Up. Yeah, so anyway. Okay, Kay, do you want to vote next? Somebody said in the chat, I need you away from Valerie. I'm officially voting for Valerie.

[2:32:00] Ashley Edwards: Wait, not you. I was talking to Edward, Edwarda. It's taking me out that you're able to not only have a conversation talking, but you're able to also have a conversation in the chat at the same time.

[2:32:07] Kay: I work in radio news. I'm like all over the place.

[2:32:10] Ashley Edwards: All over. Kay, what is your vote?

[2:32:13] Kay: Oh, it's for Valerie, of course.

[2:32:16] Ashley Edwards: Yeah, it's, as compelled as I am to like throw a pity vote for All That Jazz because I do love her so much. Valerie is that girl and it just means so much to me and so many other Gleekies out there. And you know what, Kay, I'm really happy that like we were able to send through a Santolo knowing your history with this character.

[2:32:39] Kay: It's not that I don't have, I'm not anti-Santana. I just don't have like the like deep, deep love for her that so many of the Gleeks do. And that's okay. We all have our favorite, like, you know, I would.

[2:32:50] Ashley Edwards: We were scared for a second.

[2:32:51] Kay: I'm not going to put a Rydolo, you know, through over a Santolo nine times out of ten.

[2:32:56] Ashley Edwards: Show of hands.

[2:32:57] Kay: Nine times.

[2:32:58] Ashley Edwards: Why not ten out of ten?

[2:32:59] Kay: I don't know. There might be a good Rydolo. Without looking at a list, I don't know.

[2:33:03] Ashley Edwards: There might be a good Rydolo.

[2:33:04] Kay: Some of them kind of hit. I only have eyes for you. It's good.

[2:33:08] Ashley Edwards: You're so nice.

[2:33:11] Kay: Okay. Kay, thank you so much.

[2:33:14] Ashley Edwards: Thank you so much.

[2:33:14] Kay: What a thrilling final competition. I'm so glad to be joined by you and all the other Gleeks this month.

[2:33:22] Ashley Edwards: Okay, so in recap.

[2:33:28] Kay: Oh, Drew asked, did you vote Andrew? You said Valerie, right?

[2:33:32] Ashley Edwards: Yeah, I wanted to do like a little pity one for All That Jazz, but I, no, I can't do it. It's going to be for Valerie.

[2:33:38] Kay: You can't even stomach it, poor thing.

[2:33:39] Ashley Edwards: I think that All That Jazz is the first of many bad bitches that Valerie will take out.

[2:33:46] Kay: Yeah, well, it happens sometimes, you know.

[2:33:48] Ashley Edwards: You get a morning, let it go. I'm going to sleep good tonight. I'm going to be rubbing my feet. You know, kicking, kicking your feet. So happy.

[2:34:00] Kay: Okay, so in recap for this episode, light up the world. The world has been lit up by you, baby girl. You are advancing to round three.

[2:34:13] Ashley Edwards: Love you.

[2:34:14] Kay: Not only are you locked out of heaven, but you are locked out of round three.

[2:34:20] Ashley Edwards: Access denied.

[2:34:24] Kay: Telephone. Telephone. We're hanging up. It's sad, but we got to, this phone call just lasted a little bit too long.

[2:34:32] Ashley Edwards: Well, it's a voicemail.

[2:34:35] Kay: Right, right.

[2:34:36] Ashley Edwards: Superstition, you know, I had a superstition that superstition would make it through to round three and seeing is believing.

[2:34:49] Kay: Right.

[2:34:49] Ashley Edwards: It's going through to round three.

[2:34:53] Kay: You got there. You got there.

[2:34:56] Ashley Edwards: Kay says superstition is the way. Exactly.

[2:34:59] Kay: Superstition, exactly. Thank you so much. Why don't you come on over, Valerie, to round three?

[2:35:05] Ashley Edwards: Exactly.

[2:35:06] Kay: Where you belong.

[2:35:09] Ashley Edwards: Oh, all that jazz. Do you have anything for all that jazz?

[2:35:16] Kay: Hmm. Right up here is where I store the, my cough is crazy. All that jazz and someone's saying, and someone's saying, oh, so you like jazz? No.

[2:35:33] Ashley Edwards: All that jazz in L. None of that jazz. That's really good.

[2:35:37] Kay: Well, Abby, thank you so much for joining me for all three of these competitions.

[2:35:41] Abby: Oh, it was awesome being here.

[2:35:43] Ashley Edwards: Do you have things to promote at this time?

[2:35:46] Abby: I have nothing to promote, dude. I'm just vibing.

[2:35:49] Ashley Edwards: How about the glitter that we talked so highly of?

[2:35:51] Abby: Yeah, glitter you can get. You can catch me at Sam's Breadsticks. S-A-M-S-B-R-E-A-T-S-T-I-X. Breadsticks. You can you can see me there. I'm having a good time. I'm trolling, having fun.

[2:36:04] Ashley Edwards: Oh, people are like, oh, okay, you guys think I'm funny? I'm so shy. You gotta stop it.

[2:36:13] Abby: Gleek approved. 10 out of 10 Gleeks. Awesome. But it's been a great time. I love I love coming on here and chatting and chatting and yapping.

[2:36:22] Ashley Edwards: That was a good time. Yeah, exactly. You've made a name for yourself. It's very impressive.

[2:36:27] Abby: I try. I try.

[2:36:30] Ashley Edwards: You're a good gabber.

[2:36:31] Abby: You think so?

[2:36:32] Ashley Edwards: I love. Yeah.

[2:36:33] Abby: Gabber, Gabber the Abby. I have a lot.

[2:36:35] Ashley Edwards: Um, no, thank you so much, Abby. It's been such a delight, as always. Cannot wait to have you back. I do want to announce that next week will be another very exciting episode with not one, but two Gleekcast members and we'll be glacketing.

[2:36:57] Abby: Hell yeah.

[2:36:58] Ashley Edwards: And I'm sure if you even put together in your head.

[2:37:03] Abby: Oh yeah.

[2:37:04] Ashley Edwards: For one second who they could possibly be.

[2:37:06] Abby: Oh, you could probably figure it out.

[2:37:08] Ashley Edwards: You sent that email immediately. Hey, did you get to come back on the pod? And you said that email literally exactly right. I love about you, you're a business man. You're never gonna play about that.

[2:37:17] Abby: You're never gonna play about business.

[2:37:20] Ashley Edwards: Love that about you.

[2:37:21] Abby: Oh, thank you so much. But they will be glacketing. It'll be fun. And yeah. All right. See you next week.

[2:37:27] Abby: Okay, bye.

[2:37:30] All: It's Gleek.

[2:37:31] All: Gleek of the week.
