I'm hoping to meet up with the rest of my stellar jay friends. These winds are incredibly strong and the smoke is dreadful for my voice.

[9:36] Clucky: Oh wow, you're right, Victoria. I feel like it is more difficult to breathe down here. You don't think the family is going to leave and forget about us, do you?

[12:01] Clucky: Maybe I should head back up and see what's going on.

[12:12] Maddox: Mom, we brought you the hamsters.

[12:15] Mom: Oh good, thanks kids. We've got a spot for their travel cages in the back of the trunk of my car. Man, I wish we still had the van. It had so much more space.

[12:24] Maddox: Are we going to be able to fit all the pets, us, and all the stuff we need in two vehicles?

[12:29] Mom: We have to. This is all the space we have.

[12:32] Maddox: But Dad, where are we going to put the chickens? When we drove from Florida we had a big truck to put the crate in the back.

[12:38] Mom: It won't fit in Mom's car or your SUV. What are we going to do? I'm not leaving the chickens.

[12:43] Maddox: Oh no, we can't leave the chickens. They're family too.

[12:46] Mom: Calm down you two. I have a plan. See the tarp in the place where the foot space is in the back of Dad's SUV?

[12:53] Maddox: The chickens are going to ride there.

[12:55] Mom: How? There's no way that they're going to stay in that small space. They're going to be flying around the SUV.

[13:21] Mom: No, no, no, no. Calm down. Let me explain what your dad means. The chickens are fine. The fire is getting close, but it's still several miles away. We need to hurry and get them secured, but no one is planning on eating them.

[13:36] Mom: Remember that roll of moving wrap we had left over after our move?

[13:49] Amy Daniels: I'm going to have you hold the chickens while I wrap them up in the plastic wrap. It's stretchy and it will cling to itself, but it will not stick to the chickens. It will hold their wings and feet secure so they can't move. I don't think they'll like not being able to move. It won't be for too long and you're right. We can't have them flapping around in the car while I'm driving. So we're only going to wrap their feet and wings down and it won't hurt them? That's the plan. Now, we've never done this before, so it might take a couple of attempts to get it right. Xander, I'll need you to hold them and keep them calm while I wrap them up. Okay, now I see what you mean by chicken burrito. We've got everything else packed up.

The last thing we need to do is go down and wrap up the chickens. We wanted to be sure that we were ready to leave as soon as we had the chickens secure because we don't want them to be burrito-wrapped any longer than necessary. Everything else is packed up.

[14:37] Xander Daniels: Not everything. We don't have Kitten or Rosie in the vehicles yet. Rosie's and Kitten's travel crates are already in the vehicles next to each other. We just need to put them in once we load up the chickens.

[14:47] Maddox Daniels: We can't, Dad! I don't know where Kitten is! I let her out this morning and she has not come back in through her window. I have called for her, but nothing! I'm so worried.

[15:00] Amy Daniels: It's going to be okay, Maddox. Kitten is probably down with the chickens. You know how she likes to hang out down there.

[15:04] Maddox Daniels: But what if she's not?

[15:06] Amy Daniels: Well, we will leave her window open and fill the bathtub up with water. That way she can come back in and have a safe place to stay if the fire does come up here.

[15:16] Amy Daniels: We're going to do everything we can to find her, but we need to hurry. We have been at a level one alert for the last week because of the fire.

[15:25] Amy Daniels: It means be ready and be alert. We have been watching the fire activity this whole time and also talking about what we might need to do in case we need to evacuate.

[18:22] Clucky: Pipes and I and the rest of our squadron have decided to head out to Florida early. We're migrating early because of the fire. No point sticking around.

[18:33] Piper: No Brigitte, it's not that bad yet. We've seen much worse flying across the country. Forest fires can really devastate an area, but this one isn't that bad. Hopefully it'll rain soon.

[23:40] Clucky: Brock, lady.

[23:42] Amy Daniels: There you go, next to Clucky.

[23:44] Clucky: Oh, Clucky, you left some worms for me.

[23:47] Maddox Daniels: No I didn't, but my neck can't stretch that far.

[23:50] Amy Daniels: Come on Bella, you're next.

[23:52] Maddox Daniels: Brock, whoa, not too fast.

[23:59] Amy Daniels: We're getting really quick at this. How are they doing over there in the wheelbarrow?

[24:03] Clucky: Are they able to move?

[24:04] Maddox Daniels: Nope, all good over here. This looks like it should hold them.

[24:08] Amy Daniels: All secure, Bella. Into the wheelbarrow with you.

[24:12] Bella: Oof, a little gentler please.

[24:15] Amy Daniels: Time is of the essence, Bella. Can't you see how worried the mom and dad person look?

[24:20] Maddox Daniels: Alright, Brigitte. You are the last one.

[24:23] Amy Daniels: Brock, last but not least.

[24:25] Brigitte: Oh, Brigitte, you were right. He does have big strong hands.

[24:29] Maddox Daniels: Mom, dad, where are we going?

[24:31] Amy Daniels: We are about to leave and I just realized I have no idea where we're going. Is there a hotel that will let us bring a dog, a cat, and hamsters and chickens?

[24:41] Amy Daniels: No, not that I've heard of. However, hotels in Florida did make exceptions for pets when we had to evacuate for a hurricane with the dogs a few years ago. However, we did not have chickens or kitten at that point.

[24:53] Maddox Daniels: Are you saying that we don't have any place to go? Will we be living in the car?

[25:00] Amy Daniels: No, that's not what I'm saying. All set, Brigitte. You can put her in with the others.

[25:04] Amy Daniels: There you go, all cozy in the wheelbarrow. Let's set up. We're going to Grandma and Grandpa's farm. They only live two hours south, so we will be able to stay there for as long as we need to. Grandma's even clearing out a horse stall for the chickens to stay in.

[25:18] Maddox Daniels: Oh good, I did not want to sleep in the car.

[25:20] Clucky: What's that?

[25:22] Maddox Daniels: It's the alert on our phones.

[25:24] Amy Daniels: They have upgraded our evacuation status from two to three.

[25:27] Xander Daniels: What does that mean again?

[25:29] Amy Daniels: Leave now, just in time. We've got everyone ready. Let's move.

[25:34] Maddox Daniels: Oh no, what will happen next? Will they escape from the fire? How long will they be gone? Will they be able to go back? Will Clucky run out of food?

[25:46] Clucky: Ha, now he eats bugs.
