[0:01] Quincy Brown: I have just been through hell and back. It is good to see me.

[0:07] Kevin Bianchi: Sing your song.

[0:14] Quincy Brown: I'm Quincy.

[0:15] Kevin Bianchi: And I'm Kevin.

[0:16] Quincy Brown: And this is Sentimental Men.

[0:19] Kevin Bianchi: We're here to talk and maybe scream about our favorite women in musical theater.

[0:31] Quincy Brown: Sentimental Men.

[0:35] Kevin Bianchi: It really was no miracle. What happened was just this.

[0:39] Quincy Brown: Da da da da da da.

[0:41] Kevin Bianchi: The house to pitch.

[0:43] Quincy Brown: Then suddenly the hinges started to unhinge.

[0:47] Kevin Bianchi: Just then, a witch.

[0:49] Quincy Brown: To satisfy an itch.

[0:51] Kevin Bianchi: When flying on a broomstick.

[0:53] Quincy Brown: Thumbing for a hitch.

[0:55] Kevin Bianchi: And oh, what happened was rich.

[0:58] Quincy Brown: Na na na na na.

[1:00] Kevin Bianchi: We're here. We're here.

[1:03] Quincy Brown: Good morning, Kevin.

[1:04] Kevin Bianchi: Good morning, Quincy.

[1:06] Quincy Brown: Well, it's the afternoon, but good morning.

[1:08] Kevin Bianchi: Morning is a mindset. Morning is when you get out of bed.

[1:11] Quincy Brown: Morning is a mindset. I love it.

[1:14] Kevin Bianchi: Quincy, how could we not be jumping out of bed on a day like this when there is sun in the sky and so much Wicked to talk about?

[1:23] Quincy Brown: We are so behind on Wicked movie discourse. Our apologies.

[1:26] Kevin Bianchi: Our apologies. No, I don't apologize for anything.

[1:29] Quincy Brown: Right. I'm always apologizing.

[1:31] Kevin Bianchi: No apologies. We're here now.

[1:33] Quincy Brown: Vouching for the Wicked.

[1:37] Kevin Bianchi: Okay, let's first begin, Quincy, with I think this kind of rolls into a couple topics.

[1:43] Quincy Brown: There's continued conversation about nobody's ever happy with how any movie is advertised.

[1:46] Kevin Bianchi: Either people are not happy that it's obvious enough it's a musical. People are not happy that it's obvious enough that it's going to be two parts.

[1:58] Quincy Brown: Okay, I feel like people know Wicked is a musical. That's my opinion. That's what it comes down to.

[2:04] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah, when I thought about it, I was like, Mean Girls movie was getting the same kind of blowback for not advertising was a musical.

[2:10] Quincy Brown: But that makes sense.

[2:11] Kevin Bianchi: To that I say, one, sure, that makes sense because you're advertising Mean Girls, the IP property. Two, Mean Girls was still a box office success, wasn't it? Three, Wicked is not like, there's a book, I know, but Wicked, as anyone in culture knows it, is Wicked the musical.

[2:25] Quincy Brown: Correct.

[2:26] Kevin Bianchi: It's not some IP that we took that wasn't musical before and are now advertising it. Also, it's just like...

[2:31] Quincy Brown: That's kind of dandy. Also, they're singing throughout.

[2:33] Kevin Bianchi: They're singing throughout, and like, it's Ariana Grande. You know her to be a singer. You hear her singing. You know Cynthia Erivo to be a musical theater performer. You know The Wizard of Oz to be a musical. I just like, I don't see the confusion. Like, I think people know Wicked is a musical.

[2:51] Quincy Brown: And you're hearing singing throughout the trailer. You're seeing...

[2:54] Kevin Bianchi: Dancing.

[2:55] Quincy Brown: ...obvious dance scenes in a way that I don't think Mean Girls did in their trailers. I don't find it to be an issue. If anyone walks in there and is surprised that they start singing, I think they haven't been paying attention.

[3:05] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah, I think they're very musical advertisements.

[3:09] Quincy Brown: Two parts. What are your thoughts on the two parts not...

[3:12] Kevin Bianchi: Well, it's a little bit of a moot point now because they recently posted Wicked Part 2 coming November 2025.

[3:18] Quincy Brown: Yeah, but we always knew that Part 2 was coming. Like, there's always been a release date on the books for Part 2. Let me ask you this first. Do you feel like people are upset because, like, they are expecting slash anticipating all of it to be in one movie? Or do you think people are upset that there's not, like, an upfrontness about the fact that it's being split up?

[3:39] Kevin Bianchi: I actually can't unpack the reason... I think people just like to be angry about something. I don't feel upset over this, either part of it.

[3:46] Quincy Brown: I agree.

[3:47] Kevin Bianchi: I'm glad we're both having trouble getting into the mindset of this. But what I will say is that, from a marketing perspective, and if it is to be true that they are just splitting it, Act 1 is Part 1 and Act 2 is Part 2, then the prom... Oh, because people are saying it's like they're false advertising, but to me it's like all the trailers are promising to give you the story before Dorothy dropped in. That is Act 1 Wicked. That is Act 1. Act 1 more so than Act 2, I think, is why supposedly most of the new material is in Part 2 of the movie. Act 1 works as a standalone film and story. You're getting the story of how the Wicked Witch became the Wicked Witch of the West.

[4:22] Quincy Brown: Correct.

[4:23] Kevin Bianchi: You're getting... Which, by defying gravity, we see.

[4:25] Quincy Brown: Right.

[4:26] Kevin Bianchi: It's very, like, Into the Woods, how you could take just Act 1 and do Into the Woods Jr. Yes, we know Wicked the stage show in its entirety, but maybe we need to just reframe how we think about this.

[4:35] Quincy Brown: Yeah.

[4:36] Kevin Bianchi: And Wicked Part 1, the movie, is a standalone film, and Part 2 is just going to be a sequel, as a sequel is after a movie is a success.

[4:44] Quincy Brown: Yeah, yeah. And I also feel like, as somebody viewing all of these ads and things with a very Wicked-minded perspective, it's not like they're showing us things that are going to end up being in Act 2. There's been a couple clips that I think you can kind of point towards happening in Act 2, but I don't feel like we're being sold the full plot of Wicked. I feel like we're being sold the wizard and I through defying gravity.

[5:13] Kevin Bianchi: Have we gotten a clip of, like, the Wizard of Oz foursome in front of the wizard?

[5:18] Quincy Brown: We have, right?

[5:19] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah, that's what I mean. Like, there's little things like that, but like, there's no... They're not selling us the plot of, like, Elphaba as the outlaw, like, on the run. They're not selling us the Act 2 conflict at all. They're selling us Elphaba is different, and then the wizard wants to meet her, and then she discovers he has no real power, and she sings...

[5:39] Quincy Brown: Yeah, like, that in and of itself is enough plot.

[5:42] Kevin Bianchi: What is it? Ahhhh!

[5:49] Quincy Brown: Down!

[5:50] Kevin Bianchi: Which, to that logic, it even makes more sense. Because imagine trying to sell all of Wicked the musical story.

[5:57] Quincy Brown: Correct.

[5:58] Kevin Bianchi: How do you do that in a succinct trailer? That's why they're not doing it. Because to sell Wicked, you have to kind of get people to undo their plot of The Wizard of Oz. But then to sell Act 2, you then have to reinsert what they already know and have them on board with what you've set up.

[6:19] Quincy Brown: Yeah, it's too confusing. I rarely am like, movies need to be in two parts, but I think this was a smart decision. I'm really excited. Especially because Act 1 stands alone so well. Like, what are you upset about?

[6:28] Kevin Bianchi: I don't know.

[6:29] Quincy Brown: That you get more Wicked?

[6:30] Kevin Bianchi: Make it five parts!

[6:31] Quincy Brown: Literally!

[6:32] Kevin Bianchi: Five parts? Six parts? I hope we get a trilogy.

[6:34] Quincy Brown: What comes after Part 2?

[6:37] Kevin Bianchi: Right? When she pops her little head out at the end? Part 3.

[6:40] Quincy Brown: I want Elphaba on the run.

[6:41] Kevin Bianchi: Same.

[6:42] Quincy Brown: Part 3. Elphaba on the run. Streaming on only Disney+.

[6:45] Kevin Bianchi: On Peacock.

[6:48] Quincy Brown: I think this kind of leads us into another conversation I would like to have about all of the different trailers that are coming out. And I would like to start us with the point that so what first comes is the not first comes, but like so with this international trailer that has come out that I feel like is selling, advertising the very honest Act 1 plot summary of what the show is about whereas everything that we are seeing as Americans are very focused on like, an element. It's like, the friendship. Or like, here is the wizard component that you are familiar with. Or like, here is this Glinda featurette. So recently, I want to say in the last week or two, Quincy we've been getting sent a lot the international trailer that came out and I find that very interesting because I feel like a lot of the quote-unquote, like, domestic trailers and the featurettes even are selling me wicked as a story about Elphaba and Glinda and their friendship, period.

[8:04] Kevin Bianchi: The international trailer is selling me wicked the story of Elphaba and Glinda and their friendship and also this like, political unrest that is happening. Like, to see the Dr. Dillamond animals should be seen and not heard slide getting like, flipped over and then seeing him getting pulled out and like, there's just a little bit more of the like, the corruption of the wizard like, you see Elphaba or, I forget if it's Elphaba or Glinda saying it but one of them is like, this is so much bigger than the two of us like, they're really setting up the kind of overarching Oz plot as opposed to just the plot about these two girlies going from being roommates to enemies in The Wizard of Oz.

[8:42] Quincy Brown: I feel like there's always like, a final trailer like, I feel like we will know when the final trailer comes out and I feel like that'll probably come out like, in October like, sometime next month. I guess also now they start doing press in earnest so it'll like, the official marketing materials will all be supplemented by that. I think our final trailer will probably be a lot more expansive, like the international trailer is. I think it'll be more inclusive of all elements of Act 1.

[9:12] Kevin Bianchi: You know what I can't unsee though? There's a kind of hero image they released of Ariana and Cynthia in front of like, a rainbow poppy field. That's kind of like, one of their key images. Every time I see that I think of Jackie Burns and I think Amanda Jane Cooper in their pride paint.

[9:30] Quincy Brown: The like, airbrush, yeah.

[9:31] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah. Okay, here, I've got them. I've got them.

[9:34] Quincy Brown: Number one. I got it up.

[9:35] Kevin Bianchi: They posted that first?

[9:37] Quincy Brown: They posted Ariana first.

[9:38] Kevin Bianchi: Oh, are you talking about these two?

[9:40] Quincy Brown: Yeah.

[9:41] Kevin Bianchi: Oh, yeah, okay.

[9:42] Quincy Brown: So they posted those. I was thinking you meant they posted this one first.

[9:45] Kevin Bianchi: Oh, oh wow.

[9:47] Quincy Brown: Oh, so we got two solos of Ariana and Cynthia.

[9:50] Kevin Bianchi: We got two solos, yeah.

[9:51] Quincy Brown: They put out these two, which feel very much like they are meant to be displays inside a movie theater lobby with the big word wicked in between them. But then they have these two, which feel more like they're meant to be actual posters. The first two that Kevin's talking about are the ones where they're on the banister and the second two is when Cynthia is in her like, slay fucking outfit.

[10:17] Kevin Bianchi: Pants is that? Legs out.

[10:20] Quincy Brown: Like legging, fishnet. Dress. Like what's happening?

[10:25] Kevin Bianchi: Sexy. Act Two Elphaba is sexy.

[10:28] Quincy Brown: Powerful. This is giving Act Two Elphaba.

[10:30] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah. Could you make the argument that they're both giving Act Two that the first set that were released of Ariana and Cynthia are kind of Act One-y vibes and then the second set is Act Two?

[10:38] Quincy Brown: The banister ones?

[10:39] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah.

[10:40] Quincy Brown: Yeah, because the banister one of Elphaba, that one looks like she's in Defying Gravity. One short day dress with the cape added on. It looks like the stage one version of the Wicked Witch of the West, whereas the second one is clearly elevated to the point of it being like the quote-unquote Act Two dress.

[11:02] Kevin Bianchi: We did have someone reach out and say this first photo released of Ariana on the banister has Shiz University in the background and that was upsetting because Glinda never is at Shiz as Glinda the Good Witch.

[11:15] Quincy Brown: On stage?

[11:16] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah, to that I say we don't know how Oz is set up. Maybe Shiz is in the town square where she comes down to do let us be glad, let us be grateful. Also, it's just like an advertisement. It's a composite image. Grow up.

[11:30] Quincy Brown: They gotta get it in there somewhere. I also love in images like these, character portraits to see the prop elements that they kind of stage around them because even just seeing all these different luggages.

[11:47] Kevin Bianchi: That's Glinda's luggage for sure.

[11:49] Quincy Brown: Yeah. Like I said, someone's got to do the dirty work. Someone's got to carry all that shit up the stairs to the private suite.

[11:57] Kevin Bianchi: Shenshen, go.

[11:58] Quincy Brown: Nessa Rose.

[11:59] Kevin Bianchi: Nessa Rose. I think it's a cute little image. I love her costume interpretation.

[12:05] Quincy Brown: The wheelchair is very cute.

[12:07] Kevin Bianchi: I love the wheelchair.

[12:09] Quincy Brown: The wheel itself.

[12:12] Kevin Bianchi: The attention to detail.

[12:13] Quincy Brown: Yeah. She just looks sweet. This Nessa Rose looks sweet and not hateful. I'm so curious to see how her character develops throughout the course of the movies. Something that always I feel like gets not forgotten but isn't really brought up in the show is that Nessa is the Thropp daughter that is of college attending age. Elphaba is the older sister. Nessa Rose is the one who is like, I'm 18 or whatever. However, it's determined that it's time to go to college in Oz. She looks young.

[12:46] Kevin Bianchi: She's that.

[12:47] Quincy Brown: Right. To see a young, ingenue-y Nessa Rose, I think that really is captured well in this image. I hope we get then act two character portraits for everybody a year from now with a side-by-side of her in the very stately.

[13:06] Kevin Bianchi: Act two makeup.

[13:07] Quincy Brown: Yeah. Give her a contour. Something else that I like about the Nessa Rose portrait is I like her shoes. Just because her shoes are an important part of her plot.

[13:19] Kevin Bianchi: Mm-hmm.

[13:20] Quincy Brown: I like her little shiz shoes.

[13:22] Kevin Bianchi: Little bows.

[13:23] Quincy Brown: Yeah. They just look special. It's nice that, yeah.

[13:26] Kevin Bianchi: Moving on to Bach.

[13:27] Quincy Brown: Moving on to Bach.

[13:28] Kevin Bianchi: Love that he's on a stack of books.

[13:30] Quincy Brown: Love it.

[13:31] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah. We've been studying. It's like a nice homage to the little gag he does where he steps up on the ledge when he's talking to Glinda.

[13:38] Quincy Brown: I agree.

[13:39] Kevin Bianchi: I agree. Also, I love the inclusion of orange in his wardrobe color palette because it makes him stick out from the all-blue.

[13:46] Quincy Brown: I mean, he looks like a dweeb.

[13:51] Kevin Bianchi: He's dressed like a dweeb.

[13:53] Quincy Brown: Yeah, as he should be.

[13:54] Kevin Bianchi: Which is so cute. And the two short pants with the striped socks underneath.

[13:59] Quincy Brown: Yeah, it's really cute. The clashing pattern of the bow tie and the vest.

[14:03] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah, good job, Ethan Slater. I'm excited.

[14:06] Quincy Brown: Jeff Goldblum.

[14:08] Kevin Bianchi: No notes.

[14:11] Quincy Brown: No notes. What a perfect, perfect man.

[14:14] Kevin Bianchi: He's so hot. Like, you know when you watch a movie and it's like, even like this, it's like, oh, I'm supposed to believe this gorgeous actress is this dowdy girl because she has a ponytail. I'm like, you want me to root against this man? You want me to think bad things about this?

[14:26] Quincy Brown: No.

[14:32] Kevin Bianchi: I'd be manipulated and deceived by this wizard. Pro-communism, like, control the railways. Make your yellow brick road. Take advantage of my special skills. Do whatever you gotta do. You've got my vote.

[14:49] Quincy Brown: Oh my god. It's great. And I love the design of the wizard head, the big golden one. Feels like a perfect middle ground to me between the stage show and like the MGM.

[15:02] Kevin Bianchi: I love it.

[15:03] Quincy Brown: Madame Morrible.

[15:04] Kevin Bianchi: You mean Agatha all along.

[15:06] Quincy Brown: Also, once upon a time, ABC.

[15:08] Kevin Bianchi: It's giving that.

[15:10] Quincy Brown: It is giving once upon a time. You're so right. But also it's implying that Madame Morrible is powerful and magical in ways that I don't feel like we get on stage. On stage, she kind of does a ding, ding, ding. And supposedly the weather's better. This looks like she's fucking shit up.

[15:26] Kevin Bianchi: This looks like she's fucking shit up. And this is like introducing, like, it's like a tornado shape around her. Like it's twisting around her. So it's nice foreshadowing.

[15:36] Quincy Brown: Do you think the twister that kills NASA is going to be like a giant purple lightning vibe?

[15:41] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah, I bet it'll, uh, uh, uh, that moment with a budget attached to it, like with like, because on stage it's just like a projection because we have to move on with the plot. But when they can like devote a minute of screen time to this. Ooh.

[15:57] Quincy Brown: I also like about Michelle Yeoh's costume, the one that they have her in here, that the bottom of the dress is also kind of like a twistery pattern. Like her costume, that robe, or that coat kind of looks like it's like wrapping up around her live.

[16:14] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah, she looks gorgeous. And I'm so obsessed with her white hair in this. I think it's so beautiful.

[16:22] Quincy Brown: It's such a good translation of like the vibe of her stage look.

[16:26] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah. Also a lot of elements in the book, in the Wicked novel, there's a lot of suggestion that Madame Morrible herself is an animal. Like she's, she's very like fish-like and they describe her that way a lot. And I see that in this costume design as well.

[16:43] Quincy Brown: All right. This is the poster I want for my wall.

[16:47] Kevin Bianchi: I know it is.

[16:48] Quincy Brown: I know it is. It's so good. I mean, the pants.

[16:52] Kevin Bianchi: It's so good.

[16:53] Quincy Brown: The pants. I'm assuming this is our Fiyero white pants and I'll take it.

[16:56] Kevin Bianchi: It's great.

[16:58] Quincy Brown: Yeah. I also love, maybe this isn't what they were going for, but like the pattern on the pants is giving a little tribal, which is a good reference to the book.

[17:06] Kevin Bianchi: Yes.

[17:07] Quincy Brown: I thought the same thing. Also something that I have, a connection that I have made, I'm noticing in this picture, the flowers. And it's reminding me of in the trailer, there's the scene of the flowers floating up and the students passing out, which is a throwback or a throw forward to put the poppy field. Poppies will make them sleep. In the Wizard of Oz, the scarecrow and the tin man do not fall asleep in the poppy field because in that circumstances, I think it's because they like aren't, they don't breathe because they're not like, like humans or whatever. But the lion and the, and Dorothy do fall asleep. And so then I just then get the echoes of like, what did you do back there? And why was I the only one you didn't do it to?

And so then I think about the whole class falling asleep when she's levitating the poppies, but not Fiyero and Glinda. And then later when the scarecrow and the Oz gang are going through the poppy field and Fiyero doesn't fall asleep then either.

[18:10] Kevin Bianchi: I love this dress more and more every time I see it. It's so gorgeous.

[18:12] Quincy Brown: It's like, yeah, it just looks so like light and airy and floaty. I love this materialization of the bubble where it's like a thing she stands in. That bubbles around her. Like that she's not just standing like in a bubble. Which is cool. Cause I think a lot of the magic, if Elphaba is like a true witch and has real powers and the wizard is not, the bottom half of the bubble to me is like representative of like the fake technological magic that the wizard is capable of doing. And then the rest of the bubble gives like a real magic sense, which Glinda does feel like she lives in that. Is she, does she have powers? Does she not? What is her story?

[19:00] Kevin Bianchi: Right. Can magic be taught or does it have to be born with it? Are people born with it? I guess is what I'm asking.

[19:02] Quincy Brown: What do you think of her wand? Her like scepter wand?

[19:05] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah. I think it's pretty, I'm like curious to see it in motion. If that makes sense.

[19:11] Quincy Brown: Like it's so...

[19:12] Kevin Bianchi: It's 360 in a way it's not on stage, obviously.

[19:15] Quincy Brown: Yeah. And it's like, I'm sure it glitters and sparkles in a way that a, an image isn't going to capture.

[19:21] Kevin Bianchi: I love her popping it with the...

[19:23] Quincy Brown: Yeah.

[19:24] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah. I think she looks, I think she looks gorgeous. The more and more I see it, the better and better it gets.

[19:31] Quincy Brown: Ariana looks incredible too in this picture. The body is bodying.

[19:35] Kevin Bianchi: The body, I know.

[19:37] Quincy Brown: The decolletage is so gorgeous. The hair color's perfect. It's really, it's great.

[19:42] Kevin Bianchi: It's great. Okay. Now moving, which we talked about a little bit earlier, but the photo of Cynthia.

[19:47] Quincy Brown: Oh wait. So I'm just noticing too, that the background of Cynthia, the Emerald City in this character portrait is what's reflected in Ariana's bubble.

[19:56] Kevin Bianchi: The broom looks so like of the earth. And like, like you're saying, if she's supposed to be this like natural sorceress with these powers that come from her, like the broom doesn't look like a man-made broom. It looks like a bunch of sticks warped. But to the point where I'm like, are we going to get an origin of how this broom came to be? Cause that's not just a broom that's sitting in a basement somewhere. You know what I mean?

[20:24] Quincy Brown: Like, why does it look like that?

[20:26] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah, I don't know. Maybe we will.

[20:29] Quincy Brown: And what is she serving? Is she serving pants with the dress over it?

[20:31] Kevin Bianchi: No, she's serving, I think, I think that's like stocking.

[20:35] Quincy Brown: I think that's like, it's powerful.

[20:37] Kevin Bianchi: She's grounded.

[20:39] Quincy Brown: It's powerful. It's really, it's really insane. The texturing on the bodice of this gown is unreal. And it's like such a, like a little love letter to the act two dress. But I remember, I remember reading a long time ago that Cynthia and Paul Tazewell worked together to like capture the exact right energy for her quote unquote act two dress. And like seeing it in motion like this with like, like she, she looks like she's like walking in this image. And so like to see the dress like kicking up around her, stop shredding and monkeys behind her.

[21:15] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah.

[21:16] Quincy Brown: Uh, it's so good. And she's in that field.

[21:20] Kevin Bianchi: I know she's going to fly in that field. I'm sorry for who I become if slash when she flies during the wizard and I Quincy. I'm really sorry for who I become.

[21:31] Quincy Brown: These are all really, really beautiful. Bravo.

[21:37] Kevin Bianchi: They're really stunning. I want to find, I want to go to a movie theater where they're all like up dig where I can see them. Like the Beyonce Renaissance movie where like you get a little poster with your movie ticket.

[21:50] Quincy Brown: I hope so too. I hope so too. What do you think the popcorn buckets are going to be like a witch's hat, like a witch's hat or there's, there will probably be two, one that's the witch's hat and one that's, and one that's her, her Glinda.

[22:03] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah. Her like Glinda.

[22:04] Quincy Brown: Oh, interesting.

[22:08] Kevin Bianchi: Oh, a bubble would be cute.

[22:10] Quincy Brown: Like, yeah. Um, something else that is new in the wicked advertisements is in the latest trailer that was released, the inclusion of the...

[22:29] Kevin Bianchi: which I know you lost your mind over.

[22:34] Quincy Brown: Lost my mind, lost my mind.

[22:35] Kevin Bianchi: It's just, it's so good. And go another like point of like everyone making this movie as such reverence for the source material reference.

[22:42] Quincy Brown: Yes. That's the perfect word to use.

[22:46] Kevin Bianchi: I also clocked in that most recent trailer for the first time in that one shot that I'm like fixated on where she's like running in the field and she like flies for a second when in that shot she's flying along. There's a lens flare that creates a rainbow like in the exact path that she's flying, which then also makes me is my supportive evidence for the fact that I believe that she will be flying on the unlimited theme right over the rainbow.

[23:17] Quincy Brown: Okay. Wicked has also been announcing dropping, collaborating with a lot of merchandise and toy companies.

[23:25] Kevin Bianchi: Correct. Personally, I am most excited for that monopoly board. It looks so well done. And I just want to like, I want us to do a game night with the former alpha buzz where we all sit around and play wicked monopoly.

[23:39] Quincy Brown: Okay. Yes. Somebody send us one, please. Even the little figurines, they're like little witch hats and wands. Like it's so far.

[23:49] Kevin Bianchi: It's very cute.

[23:50] Quincy Brown: It's very cute. I want every single Barbie that's being, I'm thinking about going to target this weekend and maybe just buying, but I'm going to buy like the slay ones. There's like school girl, Elphaba and Glinda. And then there's slay Elphaba and Glinda.

[24:05] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah. The Oz dust ones.

[24:07] Quincy Brown: Yeah. You want the Oz dust ones.

[24:10] Kevin Bianchi: I do love the school girl one though. Actually, my one that's to serve a little, you know?

[24:15] Quincy Brown: Yeah. I'm like, can I, a grown man go and purchase two wicked Barbies?

[24:23] Kevin Bianchi: Yes.

[24:24] Quincy Brown: I don't think you'll have been the first person, the first grown man to walk in and purchase those. I also love you get to hear through that Barbie doll. We can hear a little bit more of Ariana singing popular.

[24:40] Kevin Bianchi: There's something it's cool to hear. Like she's singing it with her chest in a way that I don't think I was anticipating, but I'm very excited about, I can't wait to hear it.

[24:53] Quincy Brown: Should we talk about the Glinda featurette?

[24:55] Kevin Bianchi: Yes.

[24:56] Quincy Brown: Yes. We should. What are they, what are they saying?

[24:59] Kevin Bianchi: Watch really quick. You know her as good, but she's also ambitious, popular pink, whatever it is, something like that.

[25:10] Quincy Brown: But she's also determined, determined.

[25:13] Kevin Bianchi: There it is. Flirty, stylish and popular.

[25:19] Quincy Brown: I just want to make that my new Instagram bio.

[25:24] Kevin Bianchi: Flirty, stylish and popular.

[25:29] Quincy Brown: So I've been told.

[25:31] Kevin Bianchi: Well, let's talk about her.

[25:33] Quincy Brown: It's good to see me. Isn't it?

[25:35] Kevin Bianchi: Threatening, threatening.

[25:38] Quincy Brown: Say it's good.

[25:39] Kevin Bianchi: It's...

[25:42] Quincy Brown: I have just been through hell and back. It is good to see me.

[25:49] Kevin Bianchi: Sing your song.

[25:51] Quincy Brown: Sing.

[25:52] Kevin Bianchi: Answer me.

[25:55] Quincy Brown: Yeah, she, you know, she's going to shoot daggers at that girl who goes, is it true? You were her friend.

[26:04] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah, not now. Shen Chen.

[26:09] Quincy Brown: Wait, what?

[26:10] Kevin Bianchi: I also love the line reading. So I've been told, I don't know the context. I don't know what it's in response to, but I can tell it's going to be a go to Jif of mine for the rest of my life.

[26:25] Quincy Brown: She's a very, it's seeming like she's a very matter of fact. Glinda in, even in all the line readings we're getting.

[26:31] Kevin Bianchi: Yeah. She's not really putting anything on top of it. She is just saying it, which like, isn't that, which is the key to comedy, baby.

[26:39] Quincy Brown: No, just say it like it's the truth and it'll be funny.

[26:42] Kevin Bianchi: And it goes back to, I mean, I think that clip of, I give it away, but I don't hate anyone that much was like the perfect first clip of us to get of her performance. Cause it's, it's just that it's not, there's nothing added onto the joke. She's just saying it and it's making it so funny. And like, what's the other one that I love? Uh, I do not, but thanks for asking. Like, it's just so like, like there's not even anything bratty about it. It's just like, no, I don't think this is fair. Thank you for being concerned with my opinion right now.

[27:14] Quincy Brown: It's so funny.

[27:15] Kevin Bianchi: It's so good. And it's like, it's good. I love that that brings like a, like a cluelessness to her, like a tone deafness rather than a meanness.

[27:25] Quincy Brown: You know what I hope they do for Elphaba's? I hope it's, I'm not that girl underscored and it's, you know, her as wicked as wicked, but she's also sad and bruised. This is me. She's also sad and so sad and depressed and misunderstood and gay. And she's not that girl, not that girl. And I think that would be muscular. She's also be emotional. And then end it with, ah.

[27:56] Kevin Bianchi: Because I'm like, what can you do for, well, I mean, we'll see.

[28:01] Quincy Brown: Or maybe it's a wizard.

[28:02] Kevin Bianchi: And I know, save it, no, save it, save it.

[28:06] Quincy Brown: I think you're right. I think the way to do it is like, you know her as wicked because everything they've been showing us so far is like, I can do it or you can do anything. I know, like, I know.

[28:18] Kevin Bianchi: Oh, yeah. You know her as wicked, but she's also quiet.

[28:22] Quincy Brown: If they do one of these for Fiyero, bye.

[28:26] Kevin Bianchi: Well, we don't know him as anything, so I don't think we already had the Fiyero feature at Quincy.

[28:34] Quincy Brown: Oh yeah. Remember the newspaper newspaper?

[28:38] Kevin Bianchi: Yep.

[28:39] Quincy Brown: Yep. Okay. So.

[28:41] Kevin Bianchi: Oh, I can't wait to see.

[28:46] Quincy Brown: I can't wait. I want more.

[28:51] Kevin Bianchi: Oh, there's a Madame Morrible Barbie.

[28:53] Quincy Brown: Yeah.

[28:54] Kevin Bianchi: Oh, Cynthia schoolgirl Barbie is kind of slay.

[28:57] Quincy Brown: Yeah. That's what I was referencing.

[29:00] Kevin Bianchi: I like this one shot. There's one shot of it, like, of the doll. She's like over the shoulder. She looks so when I took a screenshot of it, cause it's so stupid. This one, like to me, that's just like when I hear someone talking about wicked and I'm like, that's funny.

[29:17] Quincy Brown: So excited for this movie. Can't wait to see what else is coming out. Let us know your thoughts, questions, concerns. Uh, we'll be back on Mike soon.

[29:29] Kevin Bianchi: Very soon.

[29:30] Quincy Brown: All right. Talk to you later.

[29:32] Kevin Bianchi: Bye.
