[0:00] Jesse McAnally: I always knew you were damaged cheese.

[0:02] Andrew DeWolf: I'm not the one who's gonna be puppy whipped, you cold-farted itch.

[0:07] Jesse McAnally: Quality.

[0:16] Jesse McAnally: Hello, I'm Jesse McAnally.

[0:18] Andrew DeWolf: And I'm Andrew DeWolf.

[0:20] Liz Esten: And I'm Sunshine Goodness.

[0:22] Jesse McAnally: And welcome to The Cheese Wheel, a hyperfixation podcast where our topics are gambled on at a wheel. And this week, we are joined by our very first extra special guest on this version of the show. You'll recognize him as the very first extra special guest on the previous version of the show. It is our favorite human being. And yes, his numbers are going back to zero. This is his first one. So if he gets to five, he gets to win cheese again. It is our favorite guest, our first guest, our biggest cheerleader. It is Brent Black aka brentalfloss.

[0:56] Brent Black: Hey, everybody, how you doing? Welcome back!

[0:59] Jesse McAnally: Thank you.

[1:00] Brent Black: For the first time.

[1:01] Jesse McAnally: Yes, congrats on your rebirth, your phoenix rising from the ashes, which you yourself ashed. Good work.

[1:09] Brent Black: Still cheese. Different things. Cool people. I'm ready. No dip and downloads. Great.

[1:15] Brent Black: It was honestly shocking.

[1:17] Jesse McAnally: Wow.

[1:18] Brent Black: Well done. Everyone loves us.

[1:20] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah.

[1:22] Jesse McAnally: I cried on this podcast. They better fucking love us.

[1:25] Brent Black: How are you doing today?

[1:28] Brent Black: I'm all right. I'm doing a workcation in Florida, which is where my girlfriend and I go to a place that we don't have to pay to be for a little while, but we still have to work during the day. So we enjoy where we are in the evening and we still work like a couple of remote working steps during the day, but having a good time. And if there's any podcast I would in the middle of a workcation evening when I could be at the sandbar having a rum runner and some coconut shrimp, if there's any place I'd be fine being instead of that, it's here.

[2:03] Jesse McAnally: That's a different story.

[2:06] Jesse McAnally: You picked today's topic, and I am so curious as to why you've done it.

[2:11] Brent Black: Why I picked it?

[2:12] Jesse McAnally: Yes.

[2:13] Brent Black: Well, you know, I don't remember exactly how you pitched the question to me, but I was like, what's something that I've thought a lot about and that has permeated my brain over the years and that probably isn't just like a generic answer?

[2:28] Brent Black: Yeah. And I just thought food fight. And to be honest, I haven't thought of it in a while. And that was good because it allowed me to watch it again and have new insights as like a, you know, older person than I was when I first kind of got obsessed with it. And I was like, huh, it really is bad, isn't it?

[2:46] Jesse McAnally: Anyway, in case you haven't picked up what Fred's throwing down this week, we are talking about the classic animated film Food Fight. Cue the trailer here.

[2:59] Brent Black: He's dynamic. He's the big dog. Dex, the detective is back in the house that always runs to the rescue. I still got it. Charlie Sheen is dead. When in doubt, just do the right thing with Hillary Duff. Listen, tough guy. Doesn't mean that I couldn't kick your butt. Eva Longoria. I've got a hot case for you. Wayne Brady. I'm your best friend, Daredevil Dan. And Christopher Lloyd, the super sleuth, is about to tackle. They're building an entire army. His biggest case ever. Let's get him. I do have an idea. It's our world. Food! I love this guy. Food! It's a battle between the world's most beloved brands and the forces of darkness. Everyone will be there. Charlie the Tuna. Watch the tail. Mrs. Butterworth. Take that. Mr. Clean. And Twinkie the Kid. It's checkout time. Great idea. Food Fight. And the party starts jumping when we all come out.

[4:10] Brent Black: Food Fight is a film written by Brent V. Friedman, Rebecca Swanson, Sean Catherine, yeah, Sean Catherine, Derek Lawrence, and sorry, sorry, Catherine, Derek, and Lawrence Kasanoff, also directed by Lawrence Kasanoff, who is a big figure, and we're going to hear his name a lot. The film premiered technically in America in February 2013, where it was released on VOD. Jake Rosen of the New York Times described the film's US release as a muted debut. Critics described the film as one of those Fall of Civilization moments. We know all about that. The grotesque ugliness of the animation alone would be a deal breaker, even if the film weren't also glaringly inappropriate in its sexuality, nightmare-inducing in its animation, and filmed with Nazi overtones and iconography even more egregiously unfit for children than the script's wall-to-wall gauntlet of crude double entendres and weird intimations of interspecies sex.

The plot of Food Fight is the evil Brand X joins a supermarket that becomes a city after closing time. Um, I'm gonna say this is probably me, Andrew, and Liz's first time watching it just for this podcast. Brent, when did you first find Food Fight?

[5:32] Brent Black: Oh gosh, I think it was when I first moved to Philly, so that would have been 2017.

[5:41] Jesse McAnally: Okay, and what made you watch Food Fight? What brought you to that?

[5:44] Brent Black: I think I was just like, I had rediscovered The Room. There was some So Bad It's Good movie I'd watched that I went on Twitter and I was like, okay, what are the So Bad It's Goods I don't know about? And somebody mentioned Food Fight, and I vaguely remembered some kind of content online, I don't know, somebody doing a video about Food Fight, but I didn't know what it is.

[6:12] Andrew DeWolf: My friend, I'm so sorry, but you were in content about Food Fight three years before you're claiming to have watched it.

[6:20] Brent Black: Okay, I was not told what that video was even about. I was told, you're gonna play Mr. Clean, and quick story about that. I was asked, this was so stupid of me, I was asked before that shoot, what's your pant size? And I gave the vanity answer instead of the real answer.

[6:40] Brent Black: Why would you do this?

[6:42] Brent Black: I just didn't, I didn't think about, I thought, what's my suck in size, you know? Not my actual Thanksgiving dinner size. So the pants that were bought for me, the white painter's pants that were bought for me in this cameo that has ended up becoming a gif that outlives me, they did not have any stretch in them, folks. Most pants now have stretch in them. So I'm in the bathroom of this not-to-be-named content creator at his apartment where he lives, his parrot is squawking as if he knows that I am forcing my meat into this freaking pair of pants, hoping that I don't breathe enough for the button not to be this guy, but...

[7:27] Brent Black: Look, I'm just saying, they were, I was, I was poured into those, okay? I could have sneezed and put somebody's eye out with the button just flying across the room. Anyway, that is so incredibly not what this podcast is about, but yes. I'm so sorry, but like, we're not going to bring it up again. But I'm not kidding when I say I didn't know what it was for. I was just told, we want you to play Mr. Clean in this video. And I was like, oh, okay. So there you have it. I would say this is a person that wears skinny jeans all the time voluntarily because I hate myself. Tight pants are terrible sometimes, but you're, you did it. You did the thing. Good for you.

[8:20] Brent Black: Thank you. Thank you. And I've got some good junk in the trunk, but you don't want to be scared when you're putting on the pants. You want to be excited.

[8:29] Liz Esten: Welcome to wearing women's jeans, Brent.

[8:31] Brent Black: Yeah.

[8:32] Liz Esten: Yeah.

[8:33] Brent Black: Jesus Christ.

[8:35] Jesse McAnally: So you watched it in 2017 after famously playing Mr. Clean in a GIF and nothing else.

[8:41] Brent Black: Unnamed condo crew.

[8:42] Jesse McAnally: Yes. What, what was that experience? Was it like alone? Did you get high? Did you?

[8:46] Brent Black: I probably, you know, it's funny, I'm not, I'm not doing that as much these days, but I'm positive I got high. And, uh, you know, I, I think that one of my main takeaways, I mean, you know, there's just certain shots in it that will never leave me. And we could, we could really go over a long list, but I just remember knowing I wanted to watch the rest when Dex Dogtective did. He jumps off of, that's his name. Get it right. When he jumps off of the hot air balloon, he has just popped ostensibly chasing a basket of baby owls that were never introduced or really explained. And the angle of his fall and the absolutely not moving during the fall. Like he posing all the way. It looks like you dropped an action figure on a planet with slightly lower gravity than the earth and it just kind of, but like I went, okay, I'm in, I'm in.

[9:46] Brent Black: Um, but also what I remember is really thinking that I was in act three at about the 40% way through the movie mark.

[9:56] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah, this is, that's a problem.

[9:58] Brent Black: I would say this movie is like edging itself between that and the end. And you're like, it's just still going y'all. But anyway, the titular food fight feels like a joke.

[10:13] Jesse McAnally: Yeah. Well, now you mean the actual battle that is the climactic unending battle where they literally throw food at each other?

[10:22] Brent Black: Yes. Yes. The food fight.

[10:25] Jesse McAnally: They literally call it food fight.

[10:26] Brent Black: I got to say it was done better in Sausage Party.

[10:28] Andrew DeWolf: I mean, I don't know.

[10:29] Brent Black: Yeah. I wasn't going to say Sausage Party right out the gate, but the thing is the thing that Sausage Party shows us is this concept could, if not capital W work, at least make a profit. Um, like I wrote it down, uh, somewhere Sausage Party made $140 million on a $19 million budget. You can do the Toy Story of corporate mascots in a grocery store thing. They just didn't do it. And the thing about the food fight itself is. Does the food kill the targets? If you hit an Ike with a pie, do they die in the case of the tiny little Nazi general answers? No, but like.

[11:17] Brent Black: Dex Dogtective is trying to push the penguin as played with absolute commitment by Chris Kattan out of the way of an explosive pickle ostensibly to save his life. What are the rules? That is my biggest takeaway from the probably five full watch throughs and the one today. What are the rules?

[11:36] Andrew DeWolf: Also, now that we've said it, we should define what an Ike is to our audience.

[11:42] Liz Esten: Yes. Yes.

[11:44] Brent Black: Oh yeah. Yeah. I gotta say Brand X poisons their food. That was, yeah. Brand X food is full of poison. Their food kills.

[11:51] Andrew DeWolf: The other food doesn't.

[11:54] Brent Black: Yeah, I think that's, you know what? You're right. You're right. Cause it's got the green explosions. Yes, you're right. You're right.

[12:00] Brent Black: Um, Ike. So an Ike is like an icon, a mascot or product mascots. That's what they refer to themselves as. I don't know if we're allowed to use that word, but they certainly use it a lot. It sounds like a slur.

[12:14] Liz Esten: It really does not feel like a word they should be throwing around as casually as they do.

[12:18] Brent Black: Okay. And they take place in Marketropolis. Um, truly, um, Francis Ford Coppola was taking notes. Um, imagine if this was Megalopolis instead of what Megalopolis.

[12:31] Andrew DeWolf: Okay.

[12:32] Brent Black: I've watched Megalopolis in this in the same week. They're not that different.

[12:35] Andrew DeWolf: Um, that is the spiciest take.

[12:41] Brent Black: I'm being so serious with it. Like there is a Baz Luhrmann quality to Megalopolis and a lot of Nazi imagery in that as well. Um, they're very similar watching experiences.

[12:53] Jesse McAnally: Now, Brent, do you know anything about the history of the making of this? Cause it had a fraud history.

[12:55] Brent Black: I don't know how deeply want to go into that. I'll say this. I have read about it. I've watched a very deep video essay about it, but I did not review that today. Cause my main goal was watch the movie so I can talk about the movie. But yes, I am familiar with the extremely elaborately wild story of how this movie came to be. The dumbest thing is just like, they basically fully animated it once.

[13:24] Brent Black: They pretended everything got stolen so they could redo it all with motion capture, but worse.

[13:30] Andrew DeWolf: Yes, and when you say they, it's mostly that dude who also played the voice of the Cheezle.

[13:38] Brent Black: He despises me, don't you?

[13:43] Andrew DeWolf: Who he loved very deeply.

[13:45] Brent Black: He was the Cheezle?

[13:47] Andrew DeWolf: Cheezle T. Weasel, the greatest?

[13:50] Brent Black: The one that conks like poop?

[13:52] Andrew DeWolf: Yup, he sure does.

[13:54] Brent Black: And that brings me to this, y'all. Every step of the way today, I was like, how could this have been better? And it's like, what if every time a named character was introduced, it did like a little frame pose of them with their name and the product for which they are the Ike?

[14:14] Andrew DeWolf: But I'm like, half of these characters, I'm like, there's no fucking way some corporation is putting you on an edible product.

[14:23] Brent Black: I am sorry. No.

[14:26] Andrew DeWolf: Cheezle T. Weasel?

[14:28] Brent Black: Don't do so. Cheezle T. Weasel rocks.

[14:31] Andrew DeWolf: I mean, some of these, I'm like, maybe it's like warheads, you know, like the dare candy or like gross, like creepy crawly gummies like could have been some bad guys.

[14:40] Brent Black: But it's like fat cat burglar. You look like a rat. And what the fuck product would they put you on? Like the little French cheese guy.

[14:52] Andrew DeWolf: What? There's no way.

[14:54] Brent Black: There's no way that you. There's some real ones in there is the thing.

[15:00] Andrew DeWolf: And apparently there were more real ones. In one case, M&M's was on board.

[15:06] Brent Black: And then when they showed the M&M's company, some of like the dailies of what they were doing with M&M's, they made the green M&M the wrong gender.

[15:14] Andrew DeWolf: And M&M's was like, y'all, I don't know what they said, but they walked.

[15:14] Brent Black: They walked.

[15:21] Andrew DeWolf: But anyway, that was a good call.

[15:23] Brent Black: It was a really good call.

[15:24] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah.

[15:25] Brent Black: Which makes me wonder, did the tuna guys, did they get the same thing?

[15:30] Andrew DeWolf: They were like, we're staying.

[15:32] Brent Black: I mean.

[15:40] Andrew DeWolf: This movie only got released because the insurance company owned it at a point.

[15:45] Brent Black: Yes. Like they kept getting the promise that this would be better eventually and eventually never came.

[15:53] Andrew DeWolf: And all the contracts are signed.

[15:55] Brent Black: Can we talk about like I struggle to think of another example of a movie, not only this bad, but this poorly made with such a star studded cast.

[16:07] Andrew DeWolf: Let us put us. Let's put this in the context of the early 2000s.

[16:11] Brent Black: OK, Christopher Lloyd, Charlie Sheen, who's on two and a half men, Ava Longoria, Desperate Housewives, and I believe the Young and the Restless, Hillary Duff, Wayne Brady and Chris Katan was still, you know, like coming off of SNL fame at the time.

[16:26] Andrew DeWolf: But to say nothing of comedy legends, Chloris Leachman, who is Frau Blucher in in Young Frankenstein, Jerry Stiller, Larry Miller and cameos by Harvey Fierstein, Christine Baranski and Ed Asner.

[16:43] Brent Black: There was I mean, like, I think only well, only Toy Story perhaps had like a more like true celebrity cast anyway.

[16:56] Andrew DeWolf: Well, where'd they get the money?

[16:58] Brent Black: You know, like they had something else.

[17:02] Andrew DeWolf: Well, here's the thing. They got money through their distributors who were originally signing on with the caveat that they had to go to an animation department.

[17:10] Brent Black: Lawrence Kasanoff, who is a producer? He is a name. He has done a lot of things. He worked with James Cameron. He worked on the Trans Star Terminator two and did a lot of things. Mortal Kombat, Beowulf, a lot of big name things.

[17:24] Andrew DeWolf: He is still accredited producer on the most recent Mortal Kombat movie. I'm not sure if it's for anything related, but he is of a name that has a lot of connection.

[17:33] Brent Black: His big thing was he wanted to be a Pixar and do all the animation in house as opposed to other companies like things that did happily never after or something like what that garbage and Hathaway film that everyone claims is great.

[17:47] Andrew DeWolf: The Little Red Riding Hood, where they hire an outside animation studio.

[17:52] Brent Black: That's a hot take. I fucking love Hoodwinked.

[17:55] Andrew DeWolf: Hoodwinked is is like not truly not bad.

[17:59] Brent Black: It's really not that bad.

[18:01] Andrew DeWolf: The animation does actually suck ass.

[18:03] Brent Black: Oh, it's shockingly gross animation.

[18:06] Andrew DeWolf: Oh, it's disgusting.

[18:07] Brent Black: But the movie itself is fine.

[18:08] Andrew DeWolf: Yes.

[18:09] Brent Black: I might have only seen the sequel.

[18:11] Andrew DeWolf: You've only seen the sequel.

[18:13] Brent Black: I think I might have only seen the sequel.

[18:15] Andrew DeWolf: And that doesn't have Anne Hathaway in it.

[18:17] Brent Black: No, it does not.

[18:19] Andrew DeWolf: Larry Kasanoff still continues to be a weird guy. Can we just look at his Instagram? I am so sorry to do this. This is not professional. But he's trying to sell books and he keeps having this naked lady holding a book repeatedly with like the information.

[18:40] Brent Black: The only thing that would make this better is if he did the chisel voice as a VO over this. She has the book. It is very sexy. You despise me, don't you? Like that is the book that he just wrote, A Touch of Madness. And there's just this naked girl holding it. And this is 90% of his Instagram is fetish content to promote his book.

[19:07] Andrew DeWolf: Or related to the Mortal Kombat movie he made a thousand years ago. What kind of follower base does he have?

[19:15] Brent Black: He has 650 followers.

[19:18] Andrew DeWolf: Good. I'm always so sad when somebody who's a total dipshit, who's weird and has bad content, but they're just famous, has like 50,000 Instagram followers.

[19:28] Brent Black: And I'm like, you know.

[19:30] Andrew DeWolf: Isn't he an elected president somehow?

[19:32] Brent Black: Yeah, it's wild.

[19:34] Andrew DeWolf: Larry Kasimov.

[19:36] Brent Black: President. Next week he's gonna be in Trump's cabinet.

[19:40] Andrew DeWolf: Yes.

[19:41] Brent Black: So I guess the Tetris trilogy isn't going so well, huh, Larry?

[19:44] Andrew DeWolf: Secretary of Cultural Studies, Larry Kasimov.

[19:48] Brent Black: But back to your statement, Brent. Quality to voice cast. The first thing that came to my head was Dougal.

[19:56] Andrew DeWolf: The American adaptation of a British film called The Magic Railway or something.

[20:01] Brent Black: I know exactly what you're talking about.

[20:03] Andrew DeWolf: Jimmy Fallon, Jon Stewart, Kevin Smith, Whoopi Goldberg, William H. Macy.

[20:06] Brent Black: Like all these names.

[20:08] Andrew DeWolf: And it's just dubbing over a British film.

[20:11] Brent Black: Completely.

[20:13] Andrew DeWolf: Have you heard of this, Brent?

[20:15] Brent Black: No.

[20:16] Andrew DeWolf: I think I've seen this.

[20:17] Brent Black: Dubbing over with, like, they didn't change the lip sync or anything?

[20:21] Andrew DeWolf: Yes, it is wacky.

[20:23] Brent Black: But let's see if I...

[20:25] Andrew DeWolf: There's specific clips where it's just like...

[20:27] Brent Black: That's freaking wild.

[20:29] Andrew DeWolf: They made it really weird, too. There's some strange choices in dialogue that don't make any sense.

[20:35] Brent Black: I honestly only know this movie because they had McDonald's toys of the Dougal characters.

[20:40] Andrew DeWolf: And I remember being like, who the fuck are they?

[20:43] Brent Black: Whoa. I did not know about this.

[20:47] Andrew DeWolf: Brent fell asleep for this one.

[20:48] Brent Black: Yes.

[20:49] Andrew DeWolf: Three stones to rule the world.

[20:52] Brent Black: My precious.

[20:53] Andrew DeWolf: Kidding.

[20:54] Brent Black: One dog to find them, Dougal.

[20:58] Andrew DeWolf: Get the diamonds!

[21:01] Brent Black: I didn't know they were shooting Ice Age 2 up in here.

[21:05] Andrew DeWolf: From the creator of The Fairly OddParents.

[21:09] Brent Black: If he can't save us...

[21:13] Andrew DeWolf: I can fly!

[21:17] Brent Black: No, I can't.

[21:18] Andrew DeWolf: Then someone else will have to.

[21:21] Brent Black: I'm fine. I broke the fall with my face.

[21:24] Andrew DeWolf: Featuring Chevy Chase, Judy Dench, Jimmy Fallon, Whoopi Goldberg, William H. Macy, Ian McKellen, Kevin Smith, and Jon Stewart.

[21:32] Brent Black: Dougal. Like, that is the amount of effort put into this. It was a Harvey Weinstein baffling choice in the early 2000s.

[21:41] Andrew DeWolf: Another great person to think about in these times.

[21:46] Brent Black: Hopefully he'll be dead soon.

[21:48] Andrew DeWolf: In Fortnite.

[21:49] Brent Black: I hope so, too. I think he's actually going to be part of Trump's cabinet.

[21:52] Andrew DeWolf: He's going to be the department of sexual...

[21:54] Brent Black: Back to the party.

[21:55] Andrew DeWolf: No, he'll be the Title IX coordinator or something.

[21:58] Brent Black: Yes, yes.

[21:59] Andrew DeWolf: Moralities are...

[22:01] Brent Black: But back to Food Fight, if we can.

[22:04] Andrew DeWolf: We have to.

[22:05] Brent Black: You watched this 2017. It was an incredible experience.

[22:10] Andrew DeWolf: You've watched it a hundred times since then, Brent. It's your yearly tradition now.

[22:14] Brent Black: You are baffled by it. I feel like it is very much like a bad movie kind of baffling. Is there anything that you think is of quality? Or an initial idea where you're like, Okay, this could have been something.

[22:26] Brent Black: Well, okay. So, like, look. The idea of a toy story with corporate mascots that takes place in a store and the store looks different to the, you know, the mascots? I think that could be a lot of fun. It's very capitalist, like, consumerist, a little creepy in that way. But, like, look. If they found a way to get the rights to have Captain Crunch and Mr. Clean team up with Mr. Bubble and fucking the Jolly Green Giant, like, that could be a lot of fun.

[23:01] Andrew DeWolf: But they... What else? What else do I like? I love the part where there's a bar fight.

[23:05] Brent Black: There's a bar fight at the Copa Banana, and the rhino is punching the ant and keeps punching him, and then he catches him when he falls and goes, Oh, I'm so sorry, my friend. I don't know what came over me. And then he punches him again. He's like, Oh, no, let me help you up. That's a great... I'm sure it's stolen from, like, the Marx Brothers or something. That's a great bit.

[23:31] Andrew DeWolf: I actually... This is a hot take. Please don't be mad at me. The Larry Miller character, the bat, Vlad. Like, OK, you could interpret this as a homophobic character. But if you look at it like the Lakswana Troik episodes of Star Trek, where it's like horny old cougar is a little bit too into, you know, like a man who just... She's not taking the hint. I think some of the Vlad stuff's really fun. And it doesn't get... I don't think it gets so gross that it's, like, in any direction. You know what I mean? There's no gay bashing. He's just a weirdly horny guy.

[24:07] Andrew DeWolf: And Brent, what do you think?

[24:11] Brent Black: I was going to bring up that I like the bat. That's the one part of the movie where I was like, Oh, I'm actually kind of fine with this, what's happening right now.

[24:20] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah, you can imagine it in a better movie.

[24:22] Brent Black: It's so short.

[24:23] Andrew DeWolf: It is.

[24:25] Brent Black: And there's a lot of little moments that you can imagine in a better movie. And, like, some of his lines, I go, Oh, no, I can imagine that being good. Let's talk about the underscoring. The orchestral score by Walter Murphy of Family Guy fame is way better than this movie deserves. I don't know if you noticed the posters, the movie posters in Dex's office, including 12 Hungry Men, It's a Wonderful Lime, and Dial B for Burger. Like, there was cleverness somewhere in here. And as I said, Chris Kattan gave fricking 150% like, and, you know, that's the thing, y'all. Like, the talent was there. The direction, though, was bad.

[25:10] Andrew DeWolf: One of my least favorite things in movies with a big concept is when the director doesn't allow the actors or help the actors make it clear. And, you know, even down to just, like, word comprehension. The first time Christopher Lloyd says elixir. That's a huge plot point. And he goes, it's like, elixir. It's like, that just sounds like, that doesn't sound like English. Or like, dare the day. The idea that there's this Daredevil Dan character, and his whole philosophy is dare the day. Okay, I can get into that. It was the 10th time you said that that I heard that it was dare. It sounded like Dan the day. I don't know if y'all felt that way, but like, dare the day was hard to understand.

[25:51] Brent Black: I didn't know it was dare the day until you said dare the day. I thought it was Dan the day the whole time. Check this out. Dare the day. And the one other thing on my list of things I liked, even though there probably are more, are the moment where Daredevil Dan is going to crash into the gnome tree, which was going to be the Keebler elves until they pulled out. He does this, like, sequence of things like Bugs Bunny where he's, like, reading a book that's, like, how to fly. And he, like, tries to fix it. He pulls out some wires and screams. Like, it's like, there's some funny Bugs Bunny kind of stuff in that better animators, probably another pass of the VO, and better direction and editing could have made really funny. It's just like if you didn't have the way to follow through on the raw material.

[26:39] Andrew DeWolf: It falls flat on, like, the fundamentals is the problem. Like, there's all these little things that, like, could work.

[26:47] Brent Black: But you can't have slapstick jokes when your animation sucks ass. It doesn't land. None of it lands. Every single moment of slapstick doesn't fucking land because the animation sucks. And you can't have an engaging movie where you run at a plot halfway through and then decide that the entire rest of it is going to be Avengers Endgame. It's like, okay, I'm fucking bored now. You're 45 minutes into this fight scene. Can we end the fucking movie, please? And the answer is no.

[27:23] Brent Black: Well, and it seems like what they did, I can't guarantee this is the case, but it seems like what they did is, in order to finish the movie, they got rid of a bunch of shots and made a smaller number of shots longer. Because it's missing information that would have definitely made the movie better. There is a show-don't-tell problem, though I don't know if that was a problem with the original script. But yeah, shots hang longer than they need to. It feels padded. And I believe the runtime of the actual movie is like 85 minutes.

[27:59] Jesse McAnally: I don't remember what length feature film is. Andrew, is that like 70 minutes?

[28:05] Andrew DeWolf: It's anything over 40 minutes is considered not a short. 90 is the sweet spot. 80 is like the minimum minimum. Yeah, I think I've seen straight to videos that are like 70, but that doesn't count because it's literally not a feature film. There's lines like the Piglet movie was 70 minutes, but they put a short at the beginning, so then it's 80.

[28:28] Brent Black: They do stuff like that. I looked over the original 2007 screenplay of Food Fight. It is fairly one-to-one. Could you guess how many pages that script is?

[28:41] Andrew DeWolf: Shit, I don't know. You're gonna have to tell me. I don't want to be wrong.

[28:46] Jesse McAnally: What's an average script, Jess? What's an average script length for a 90-minute movie?

[28:50] Brent Black: 90-minute movie, it's usually one page equals one minute. That's the general rule of thumb.

[28:56] Brent Black: This is 137 pages of a script.

[28:56] Jesse McAnally: Is that all stage directions?

[29:01] Brent Black: No, it is like wacky how this works. But you said it's one-to-one. I don't know how they did it. I don't know where it's missing, but it is very action-based, and there's a lot of notes, and there's a lot of specific things. When I said stage directions, there's a lot of it describing what's happening.

[29:23] Brent Black: This is a terribly structured script, first of all. The formatting is wrong. The formatting is so bad.

[29:30] Andrew DeWolf: And we're all shocked.

[29:34] Brent Black: With Larry Kasanoff, the man of upright... I do have to give credit to where I got these sources. That documentary that was made called Rotten Behind the Food Fight, with great information in it. Terribly made documentary.

[29:48] Andrew DeWolf: Not a great doc, I gotta say. Not a great doc.

[29:51] Brent Black: But the resources that it gave. We have the entire original score for the film. We have different variations of the screenplay. Did you know there was going to be a video game tie-in to this movie?

[30:01] Andrew DeWolf: I'm not shocked they made a coloring book. They were planning on rolling out... Of course they would. Any real animated movie with the great Charlie Sheen, Jesse, would have a Game Boy Advance tie-in.

[30:16] Brent Black: No, I guess by the time it came out, that would be more like 3DS. It was a GameCube. It was GameCube PS2. And then by the time the movie came out, both of those consoles were dead.

[30:27] Brent Black: And fun fact, they finished the movie on a GameCube. It looks like that.

[30:34] Andrew DeWolf: I'd rather watch it on a GameCube.

[30:38] Brent Black: There's different types of bad movies, right? And I feel like it's usually like the creator either doesn't give a shit, or is grifting, or is delusional.

[30:52] Andrew DeWolf: Is there a C all of the above?

[30:56] Brent Black: I know it's all of the above. I think the grift was early on, and I think sometimes you have to wheel and deal to get your movie made. And I think probably a lot of movies had an element of, quote, grifting early on because Hollywood is difficult. Getting movies funded, getting anything funded is difficult. But if you're planning a video game release, like...

[31:16] Brent Black: I think delusional was more of the recipe on this one, Andrew, than grifting. Also, there's a point, there's a fact about Larry Kasanoff that we have yet to mention. So back in 2016, he announced he was going to make a Tetris movie. And there is a point where he said, I'm going to make this three movies. And I have the quote he said when he announced it's going to be three movies. Please read it.

[31:35] Andrew DeWolf: Purely because the story we conceived is so big, Larry Kasanoff, I've told Empire, this isn't just splitting the last one of our eight movies into two to wring the blood out of stone. It's just a big story.

[31:50] Brent Black: Woof. This is Tetris, the video game with no plot. This is Tetris, the block game where things fall.

[31:55] Andrew DeWolf: But don't you like to play that game, though, speaking of the Tetris movie, where it's like, where you imagine a trilogy of Tetris movies that is like the best fucking thing you've ever seen.

[32:18] Brent Black: It is Star Wars. It is like the Avengers in terms of its mainstream appeal, except the second Avengers was less good. It is amazing, right? Like, I love that game. And I still sort of play that. I don't think Food Fight was ever going to be that. But I like to play that game of, you know, how could this be just enough of what it is, but still good, you know, without ruining its essence and entirely changing.

[32:47] Brent Black: L block a Tetris story. I think if Food Fight just had good animation, it would already... No, it wouldn't be good, but it would be like a movie.

[33:04] Andrew DeWolf: No, not like this is not a movie is the only reason why we're talking about it today.

[33:08] Brent Black: Well, we wouldn't be talking about it if it was better. I'm saying it would push it into like mediocre, bad instead of like so bad that it's like an anomaly. You know what I mean?

[33:20] Andrew DeWolf: You mean like Aladdin to the Return of Jafar, where it's like, like, not good.

[33:27] Brent Black: Actually, you know what? I'm sure a lot of people think that's blasphemy. And I wish I hadn't said it. I'm trying to find the right analogy of like, not very good, but still dreams come true. It's like Turbo.

[33:39] Andrew DeWolf: It's like, you know, Lion King one and a half.

[33:42] Brent Black: No, that one's great.

[33:43] Andrew DeWolf: No, that was good. That's yeah. Fuck Cinderella three, which is actually good.

[33:47] Brent Black: Actually, never mind. Keep saying good things. It's like Turbo.

[33:51] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah, Turbo is actually great. The thing is, like, there's just the rules could have been. I don't think they knew the rules when they wrote it. And that is a huge problem.

[34:04] Brent Black: For instance, how do they exit the grocery store city, which the grocery store becomes at night? How do they, during the day, exit it so that Dex Dogtective and Daredevil Dan, both double D names now that I think about it, enter the grocery store and interact with the real world? They're three inches tall. Why are there more of them? Or like, does every grocery store have all of these things like Toy Story, right? You ostensibly know that there's other Mr. Potato Heads in this world, but this is our Mr. Potato Head, right? So this is our Dex Dogtective. But when they, like, go into the real world and then they, like, ride, I swear to God, they ride a shaken up two liter bottle of a pink soda into the ice cream frozen food cabinet.

[35:00] Andrew DeWolf: What do you call that?

[35:01] Brent Black: You know, the freezer.

[35:02] Andrew DeWolf: It's just a freezer.

[35:03] Brent Black: There we go. They enter. They seem to enter a half gallon of ice cream, somehow reentering the world. By the way, a chip bag being destroyed in the first act was a huge tragedy. Now he's reentering the world because he's inside ice cream, has destroyed a half gallon of ice cream, talks to the penguin. Then they exit through the other side somehow of the freezer case through other ice cream, and they're back in the real world. Then later, Mr. Clifford, as played by Christopher Lloyd, is able to physically be there in the street of the grocery store city.

[35:48] Andrew DeWolf: How is he?

[35:49] Brent Black: And of course, he being Lady X. Not to mention, Christopher Lloyd is just a robot controlled by Lady X, who's an Ike who only lives in grocery store city. But don't forget that Lady X is technically Demi Moore in the substance underneath it all.

[36:03] Andrew DeWolf: Oh my God.

[36:04] Brent Black: But she also goes to Brazil.

[36:07] Andrew DeWolf: Yes, Andrew. Yes, she was she was a prune mascot. She goes to Brazil.

[36:14] Brent Black: Yes, she went to Brazil for all kinds of surgery. But then she kidnapped Sunshine Goodness to take out her goodness or something so she would be hotter.

[36:24] Andrew DeWolf: Yes.

[36:24] Brent Black: And then she somehow she creates as an icon, creates a brand of grocery store items that fill like every category. And she's the mascot of those while also being the person that produces them.

[36:38] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah.

[36:39] Brent Black: And when asked how she said, he was the one who produces them. Christopher Lloyd is the rep for the company. But she is Christopher Lloyd.

[36:47] Andrew DeWolf: No, yeah, running the company. He's the guy that goes to the grocery store and just says, do you have brand X? Cool. Bye. And that's his job.

[36:55] Brent Black: Yeah. So who does brand X then?

[36:57] Andrew DeWolf: Well, so he so Christopher Lloyd's character, the robot in the first scene refers to corporate i.e.

[37:05] Brent Black: You think that it means the corporate owners of the chain of Marketopolis or whatever.

[37:11] Andrew DeWolf: Isn't that market marketropolis?

[37:13] Brent Black: Thank you. So, like, it doesn't make sense. And also they explain to the way when she's asked how the fuck did you do this? She's like, humans will do anything when you look like this. And it's like, but aren't you three inches tall for Lloyd? Like, were you a little tiny, sexy, horny, action figure sized person? Not even action figure. You're like a homie. Like from like the twenty five percent. You're this small. You're the size of an avocado.

[37:43] Andrew DeWolf: Yes.

[37:44] Brent Black: So, like, you're like seducing six feet tall people.

[37:48] Andrew DeWolf: Like, I hear me out on my case right here for Jesse.

[37:54] Jesse McAnally: I'm leaning back in my chair to hear you out.

[37:58] Brent Black: What do you do with the three inch tall? What are you doing?

[38:01] Andrew DeWolf: It's a woman, Jess.

[38:02] Brent Black: Well, what are you doing?

[38:03] Andrew DeWolf: Just a big old bear hug and jumping up and down.

[38:05] Brent Black: You know, she's dead, dude.

[38:06] Andrew DeWolf: You killed. You just killed her.

[38:08] Brent Black: You suffocated her.

[38:11] Andrew DeWolf: No, no, no. She does the bear hug. You know, she's three inches tall.

[38:16] Brent Black: Dude, hug your ankle.

[38:19] Andrew DeWolf: Well, I see what Jesse's going for, but I don't want to.

[38:25] Brent Black: And listen, I think that that's still too small. Look, if you're like a foot and a half tall, you might have some purchase in that attempt.

[38:28] Andrew DeWolf: You might have some.

[38:34] Brent Black: You might have too big. That's too big. At that point, Jess needs three inches or smaller.

[38:42] Andrew DeWolf: You know what? We got to ponder this. How about we go to a commercial break while we all ponder what the proper size we can even go for.

[38:50] Brent Black: Great. What did he just admit to? My God.

[39:03] Andrew DeWolf: Hey, guys, sorry to interrupt your middle show, but we've got to show it to you. Today's show is brought to you by the extremely kind donations by our donors over at Patreon. Andrew, tell us a little bit about Patreon and what's going on there.

[39:14] Andrew DeWolf: Patreon is where you go if you want to support us and also get some extra content. We have Patreon exclusive content. We did some commentaries on Halloweentown recently, and I'm sure we're going to do some more stuff for Christmas coming up. Also, you can have direct input on our show because you can request what we cover. We recently covered dodgeball at a direct request from one of our patrons. We also have our Patreon pick December.

[39:41] Brent Black: Oh, yeah. That's something any patron can vote on.

[39:44] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah. Our current patrons. I'm just going to run through the list here so we can get back to the show. Leighton Ackles, Jessa Stampede, Ewan Cassidy, Monica Theroux, Brent Black. He's here. Look at that.

[39:54] Brent Black: Hey. Let's go.

[39:55] Andrew DeWolf: Stacey Coombe, Mary Lou Choquette, John Van Nals, Russ Walker, Musical Hell, Emily Gracie, Janae Seed, Nothing is Certain Except Beth in Texas, Thespian, Chai Teacup, Chris Marcotte, Keecha Marie Anastasio, RJ Noriega, Sebastian Canino, Joe.

[40:15] Andrew DeWolf: Let's try that one again, Kylie Blazier, The Omega Geek, Maddie Wargel, Eliza Erdman, Evan Ball, Zachary Torres, Rora Moraso, Mara, Possessed Washing Machine, Nick Roten, Huffy Boy, Sydney Hicks, Gold Plated Kiki Mora, Aria Ardy, Emma, Harry Balda, JRL Studios, Alexandra Dom, Fliberty Jigget, Sarah, and Ashley O'Neil. They give us a little financial support that helps us keep the lights on here at Musicals with Cheese, including Brent himself!

[40:44] Brent Black: I fucking hate this. I fucking hate this shit.

[40:51] Andrew DeWolf: I didn't, to be honest with you, I didn't catch it until y'all mentioned it, because it's just, I'm so used to it. I literally introduced the show.

[40:58] Brent Black: And he said Musicals with Cheese and he realized it afterwards, so it just went out.

[41:02] Andrew DeWolf: It went out and I called the show Musicals with Cheese at the top of the show.

[41:08] Brent Black: Well, listen, you know.

[41:10] Andrew DeWolf: It happens. When you do it for 300 episodes, we were doing it for like five fucking years.

[41:15] Brent Black: Yeah, that's understandable.

[41:16] Andrew DeWolf: I came in late and I still catch myself. I came in episode 260 as a regular, so.

[41:21] Brent Black: And you know what? Just burn it all. We're here. We do Patreon. Give us money.

[41:28] Andrew DeWolf: Back to the show.

[41:29] Brent Black: Let's go back to the show. There's still so much more to say.

[41:31] Andrew DeWolf: We have so much to say.

[41:33] Brent Black: We have a game to play and I don't know how we're fitting it all in.

[41:45] Andrew DeWolf: Well, I've thought a lot about what Lady X said.

[41:50] Brent Black: I've thought a lot about my position on Lady X, and you know what? I think I owe y'all an apology. Speaking of apologies, it's time for our favorite part of the show. It's PREVIEWS!

[42:01] Andrew DeWolf: In case this is your first episode of the Cheese Wheel, this is a game where I pulled real life Letterboxd reviews and Brent and Andrew have to go head to head and guess whether they're a one star or five star based on nothing but the review alone.

[42:14] Brent Black: All right. Are you guys ready?

[42:15] Andrew DeWolf: Yes. Some of these are for a different movie.

[42:17] Brent Black: That's fine. We'll ignore those.

[42:19] Andrew DeWolf: Okay. I'm ready.

[42:21] Andrew DeWolf: All right. Andrew, you'll be on my team. Brent, you're on Liz's team.

[42:26] Brent Black: Okay. All right.

[42:27] Andrew DeWolf: Give me an easy one.

[42:30] Brent Black: We gotta win. We gotta win.

[42:31] Andrew DeWolf: Yes. I'm with you, Liz. We got this.

[42:33] Brent Black: We got this.

[42:33] Andrew DeWolf: There's a lot of sexy women in this movie.

[42:36] Brent Black: Jess, you can't quote your own reviews on this.

[42:40] Andrew DeWolf: Hear me out. Sunshine goodness.

[42:44] Brent Black: All right. I'm gonna go with five because Horny usually wins out.

[42:49] Andrew DeWolf: That is incorrect. Horny lost out. That was a one.

[42:51] Brent Black: Oh my fucking god, dude.

[42:53] Andrew DeWolf: Why is Horny losing so much this bad?

[42:56] Brent Black: This is the second episode in a row I got screwed because Horny lost.

[43:00] Andrew DeWolf: Well, what can I tell you?

[43:01] Brent Black: Gen Z is getting more conservative because we don't have teen spaces anymore.

[43:06] Andrew DeWolf: All right, Liz.

[43:07] Brent Black: All right, Brent. You ready?

[43:08] Brent Black: Yeah.

[43:09] Andrew DeWolf: I know God.

[43:13] Brent Black: Sounds like a five to me.

[43:15] Andrew DeWolf: That is a five. You're on the board.

[43:17] Brent Black: All right, Andrew.

[43:18] Andrew DeWolf: When you watch Food Fight and you literally see God and know him.

[43:22] Brent Black: Yeah.

[43:25] Andrew DeWolf: Probably just responding to the drugs required to sit through and enjoy the whole thing.

[43:29] Brent Black: Anyway.

[43:30] Andrew DeWolf: God is Daredevil Dan, actually.

[43:32] Brent Black: Yes.

[43:32] Andrew DeWolf: That's who you meet when you die. You meet Daredevil Dan.

[43:35] Brent Black: Dan the day, baby. Dan the day.

[43:38] Andrew DeWolf: It makes me feel so bad because apparently when Wayne Brady was recording the lines for Daredevil Dan, he was very uncomfortable because the director kept giving him very racist things to perform to a point where he was literally like, I cannot perform that way anymore.

[43:56] Brent Black: He was just like, say it more black.

[43:58] Andrew DeWolf: Say it more globally.

[43:59] Brent Black: That's exactly what he said.

[44:02] Andrew DeWolf: It was 2001 or whatever.

[44:05] Brent Black: Andrew.

[44:07] Andrew DeWolf: Yep.

[44:08] Brent Black: Daredevil Food Fight 2012 Dan sold me cadmium.

[44:13] Andrew DeWolf: That's his side hustle.

[44:16] Brent Black: That's Dan the day.

[44:20] Andrew DeWolf: Jesus fucking Christ.

[44:22] Brent Black: What the fuck?

[44:24] Andrew DeWolf: One. That one's a one.

[44:26] Brent Black: That was a five, Andrew. I'm sorry.

[44:28] Andrew DeWolf: I like people like ketamine.

[44:32] Brent Black: I know they do.

[44:33] Andrew DeWolf: But yeah, controversial take.

[44:36] Brent Black: I know someone that took ketamine for their headaches.

[44:38] Andrew DeWolf: I know someone who took it for depression.

[44:41] Brent Black: It's weird.

[44:42] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah.

[44:44] Brent Black: Anyway, different topic.

[44:45] Andrew DeWolf: But yeah.

[44:48] Brent Black: All right, are you ready?

[44:49] Andrew DeWolf: Yes.

[44:50] Brent Black: Bring time for Hitler in Walmart.

[44:53] Andrew DeWolf: Honestly, I don't think someone can.

[44:56] Brent Black: If it's hard for me to imagine somebody is like, damn, are they saying springtime for Hitler?

[45:04] Andrew DeWolf: Ironically, that's tough.

[45:08] Brent Black: That's tough.

[45:09] Andrew DeWolf: My first thought was five.

[45:12] Brent Black: And I was in academic decathlon in high school.

[45:15] Andrew DeWolf: And they said, when you're filling out your, you know, like your multiple choice thing, you got to follow the rule of thumb. And the rule of thumb is, if you're going to go against your first gut feeling, you got to be willing to cut your thumb off for it. And so even though it might be wrong, that said, five.

[45:34] Brent Black: That's a one.

[45:38] Andrew DeWolf: Learning is like the least surprising thing I've ever learned about you.

[45:43] Brent Black: But I'm still shocked.

[45:44] Andrew DeWolf: They recruited me very aggressively because in Texas you have to have like students of different grade averages. You can't just have all a plus nerd. So I was like the not as good grades as the rest student. And they were like, this kid is smart and has shitty grades. Let's get him. Like they were very like up my ass.

[46:04] Brent Black: Yeah, we need we need this lazy slacker that's smart. Let's go.

[46:10] Andrew DeWolf: I'm just imagine you feet on the desk like sunglasses on leather jacket like I'll be I'll be on you reading the dictionary, though.

[46:19] Brent Black: Reading the dictionary, but not doing any work.

[46:21] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah, I literally I did my paper. You didn't ask, but this is true. I failed physics in the same six week period as I won the bronze medal for physics in my category in the state of Texas.

[46:35] Brent Black: That you failing physics?

[46:37] Andrew DeWolf: No, but I remember the teacher going, you're my star student and you're failing.

[46:42] Brent Black: That's wonderful.

[46:44] Andrew DeWolf: Anyway, maybe give less homework.

[46:48] Brent Black: Yeah, think about that.

[46:49] Andrew DeWolf: Anyway.

[46:50] Brent Black: All right, Andrew.

[46:52] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah.

[46:52] Brent Black: Now I know why people feared 2012.

[46:55] Andrew DeWolf: Just released in 2013, though, unless unless this is a UK review, of course.

[47:00] Brent Black: Yeah.

[47:01] Andrew DeWolf: So British accent.

[47:02] Brent Black: We're doing it again.

[47:02] Andrew DeWolf: OK, sorry. Now I know why people fear 2012.

[47:06] Brent Black: They're the worst British accent.

[47:09] Andrew DeWolf: You've made it clear this is a one star.

[47:11] Brent Black: You've made it clear.

[47:13] Andrew DeWolf: That is correct.

[47:14] Brent Black: I don't know how that made it clear.

[47:16] Andrew DeWolf: Why?

[47:17] Brent Black: Nice.

[47:18] Andrew DeWolf: Nice.

[47:19] Brent Black: All right, you guys take over.

[47:21] Andrew DeWolf: All right.

[47:21] Brent Black: Brent, are you ready?

[47:23] Brent Black: Yes.

[47:24] Andrew DeWolf: How much cocaine did they pay Charlie Sheen to do this?

[47:29] Brent Black: You said that as a question. There was no question mark on that.

[47:30] Andrew DeWolf: There was no question mark on that.

[47:32] Brent Black: So it's really hard to read.

[47:35] Andrew DeWolf: Statement.

[47:36] Brent Black: It's just a statement.

[47:40] Andrew DeWolf: I'm going with my gut again, which has been shown to not be correct. But I'm going to say that's a one.

[47:43] Brent Black: Five.

[47:45] Andrew DeWolf: Damn.

[47:47] Brent Black: The second I started going with my gut, everything went to shit.

[47:50] Andrew DeWolf: Oh yeah.

[47:50] Brent Black: Bronson physics over here.

[47:54] Andrew DeWolf: God, it's not working out for you.

[47:56] Brent Black: Andrew fucking yeeted himself out of the podcast.

[48:00] Andrew DeWolf: How are we supposed to win with Andrew dead like this?

[48:03] Brent Black: Andrew died.

[48:05] Andrew DeWolf: No, Andrew got recalled.

[48:07] Brent Black: Sorry. I have no idea what just happened.

[48:10] Andrew DeWolf: It's just fucking Brand X is what you did.

[48:12] Brent Black: Brand X recalled you, Andrew. It said something was wrong with my Internet.

[48:16] Andrew DeWolf: It just kicked me out. But my Internet still functioning everywhere else. I have no idea.

[48:20] Brent Black: All right, Andrew, last one for you.

[48:23] Andrew DeWolf: And then bring us one more.

[48:26] Brent Black: You despise me, don't you?

[48:28] Andrew DeWolf: I mean, I do. But what?

[48:31] Brent Black: It's been five years. How could you not at this point?

[48:34] Andrew DeWolf: I'm going to go with five on this, which is maybe controversial.

[48:38] Brent Black: That is correct.

[48:38] Andrew DeWolf: And that puts you ahead.

[48:39] Brent Black: Damn, Andrew. I was with you because that's somebody who paid enough attention to remember that line.

[48:46] Andrew DeWolf: That was my thought. It's like they they're quoting the movie.

[48:48] Brent Black: So they must like.

[48:51] Andrew DeWolf: I thought it was just a statement of fact about someone who made them watch Food Fight.

[48:55] Brent Black: You despise me, don't you?

[48:57] Andrew DeWolf: You despise me, don't you?

[48:58] Brent Black: OK, yes.

[48:59] Andrew DeWolf: You can tie this.

[49:01] Brent Black: Better than Sausage Party.

[49:03] Andrew DeWolf: That's a hot take.

[49:04] Brent Black: Now, how do you give something a one but say it's better than something else?

[49:10] Andrew DeWolf: I will say this sideways. Put it best on the other podcast.

[49:13] Brent Black: Yes, and I do.

[49:14] Andrew DeWolf: The Letterboxd game is just gremlin logic. Don't think too hard.

[49:19] Brent Black: Every time I've not thought too hard this thus far, things have gone bad.

[49:24] Andrew DeWolf: I should have thought harder.

[49:25] Brent Black: It's time to overthink it.

[49:27] Andrew DeWolf: Maybe you do have to overthink.

[49:29] Brent Black: OK, so better than Sausage Party. No punctuation. All lowercase.

[49:34] Andrew DeWolf: You know what? I'm going to I'm going to overthink it and give it a one.

[49:38] Brent Black: You're right.

[49:39] Andrew DeWolf: Hey, nice, nice.

[49:44] Brent Black: Now I got to ask, what do we talk about now?

[49:44] Andrew DeWolf: Do we talk about the the the inappropriate sexuality throughout or talk about the Nazis?

[49:53] Brent Black: Can we talk about the inappropriate sexuality and the sexism?

[49:57] Andrew DeWolf: Um, maybe. Look, they wanted to be who framed Roger Rabbit like really bad, like so badly.

[50:05] Brent Black: And they failed miserably.

[50:06] Andrew DeWolf: It was like they fell flat on their face.

[50:08] Brent Black: Which is a bigger failure to be who framed Roger Rabbit? This or Chippendale Rescue?

[50:16] Andrew DeWolf: Wait, wait, wait. You're talking about comparing this to Chippendale Rescue Rangers?

[50:21] Brent Black: The live action version.

[50:23] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah, but you're asking which is better between those two?

[50:26] Brent Black: Which is better at being Roger Rabbit?

[50:29] Andrew DeWolf: Oh my God.

[50:31] Brent Black: I mean, I think I have to give credit to Chippendale Rescue Rangers here.

[50:35] Andrew DeWolf: I feel like it's better.

[50:36] Brent Black: I don't. This has had a larger cultural footprint on culture than Chippendale.

[50:43] Andrew DeWolf: That doesn't make it better.

[50:45] Brent Black: A larger cultural imprint doesn't mean it's good. Birth of a Nation has a huge cultural imprint on film studies. But yeah, that's bad.

[50:51] Andrew DeWolf: She's speaking the truth.

[50:54] Brent Black: Speaking the truth right there.

[50:56] Andrew DeWolf: But I think it's worth mentioning at the very least that Food Fight has something to remember.

[51:03] Brent Black: Yeah, it's that it sucks ass.

[51:05] Andrew DeWolf: Terrible and full of Nazi imagery.

[51:08] Brent Black: I just think asking which one is better at being Roger Rabbit, like was the Chippendale Rescue Rangers thing trying to be because of the fact that it was.

[51:18] Andrew DeWolf: I didn't see it. I saw the trailer and I went, this is something that meant for me to enjoy that. I think I will feel pandered to.

[51:25] Brent Black: You will.

[51:26] Andrew DeWolf: And so I just the same way that like whenever a show from the 90s has a new season for the first time in 26 years, I go, I am not going to enjoy that. It is just going to make me sad. I should watch the original.

[51:41] Brent Black: But anyway, yeah, I don't I don't see the connection. But I'll tell you what, I really don't think.

[51:46] Andrew DeWolf: I just I really don't think Food Fight's doing a better Roger Rabbit than anything.

[51:52] Brent Black: Food Fight's not doing anything good, Jess. I know you're trying to find something good in this, but it's not doing anything good.

[52:03] Andrew DeWolf: The Dogtective is just not Dex Dogtective is not a good protagonist.

[52:15] Brent Black: No.

[52:16] Andrew DeWolf: And can we talk about the y'all know that I get obsessed with little details. His cereal is called Cinnamon Sleuth.

[52:23] Brent Black: OK, I'm with you so far.

[52:26] Andrew DeWolf: How do you even know this?

[52:28] Brent Black: I noticed that.

[52:29] Andrew DeWolf: Because it's it's I thought it was raisins.

[52:32] Brent Black: No, no, no, no. His his girlfriend is right now.

[52:35] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah, I know. But his cereal is called Cinnamon Sleuth.

[52:39] Brent Black: And of course, therefore, it is blue.

[52:42] Andrew DeWolf: The cereal in the bowl is blue. And there are question marks that are pink.

[52:46] Brent Black: And he is Cinnamon Sleuth. And on the ad on the on the logo, it says the secrets inside.

[52:53] Andrew DeWolf: But to just let you know, you're in good hands early in the movie. The first time you see it, there is no apostrophe on secrets, making it a plural.

[53:01] Brent Black: The secrets inside. And while we're on that, he has that catchphrase.

[53:06] Andrew DeWolf: But it's like it's a terrible catchphrase. How they could have made it better is cutting to a commercial where like the dad goes, I don't understand why you kids like that cinnamon sleuth cereal.

[53:17] Brent Black: And they say, sorry, dad, the secrets inside. And then at the end of the commercial, dad has started eating it. And when mom asks why, dad's like, sorry, honey, the secrets inside.

[53:25] Andrew DeWolf: That's how you do that. If you're going to do that money.

[53:28] Brent Black: I don't think they could have done that.

[53:29] Andrew DeWolf: Hell no, they couldn't have done that. I'm just saying, like, that's.

[53:32] Brent Black: To me, when I talk about like, how could they have made that good? But anyway, that was a bit of a tangent. But no, I loved it. There's so many little things. The more you watch it, the more you go, hey, somebody made that choice. They could have just made cinnamon sleuth like a light brown with little yummy thing, maybe question marks, marshmallows. Who knows? But I think they're referencing Apple Jack's because it's the two colored cereals that are kind of out of pocket. But it doesn't. But it tastes like cinnamon. I mean, Apple Jack's doesn't taste like Apple.

[54:03] Andrew DeWolf: True. I mean, if I had never tried Apple Jack's and did like a blind taste test and you were like, what does this taste like? I feel like it's one of those cool ranch things where it's like, I don't know, but it's good. Or like blue raspberry. If you'd never had blue raspberry, you wouldn't go. Well, it's kind of like a raspberry, but blue. Like you'd be like, I don't know. It's like chemicals.

[54:26] Brent Black: Yeah. It tastes like cerulean in my clothes. Like I don't fucking anyway. So am I the only one that thinks it's not OK that Dex Dogtective is dating like a 14 year old cat? Holy shit. She's so much younger. He was twenty two. I looked this up. He was twenty two years older than her when they would have recorded this. She had just come off of Lizzie McGuire.

[54:48] Brent Black: And look, look, no shade to anyone who actually goes through this world with two glass eyes. But that's what she looks like. She looks like she's got two glass eyes because they don't really move around. And I wish we could show your audience this to the biggest laughs in the whole thing or when Dex like remembers her and her spirit like occurs to him like you can do it. She looks totally stoned, like she doesn't remember that it's like she doesn't remember they said. And actually, like, well, OK, so you're showing us just like she she definitely like there's this moment. I wish I had it cued up somewhere, but it is just movies too long and so many nightmare images.

[55:38] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah, but it is I mean, there are some big laughs in this for me and they get they get fewer and farther between in the second half. But man, it's just so worst animation and the probably worst animation of any main character in the movie is sunshine good in sunshine. Goodness, mild defense. Half the cast has this problem. So she she's in a league of people who don't have emotions. Lady X's eyes are dead on arrival.

[56:08] Brent Black: Not even yes. They do nothing. OK, a link has been put into the chat of this. Like she's supposed to be. I mean, without the animation, it's still kind of doesn't tell the whole story. But the idea is that it's supposed to be like, you can do a text. Don't forget me. I'm the memory of your girlfriend. You were going to propose to me. And she just looks like, well, somebody described this for me. Because words fail me. She's doing a Miss America wave. It looks like the Sims when you're trying to make them in there like they got that neutral state. I hate it.

[56:44] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah. And she's like sort of smiling, but like kind of and like her eyes are like squinty. It's difficult. But she like appears on a door and then just fades away. It's so bizarre. Yep. And they don't even like it's not even like they're about to go in that door or something. Like it's just like a random door. And then she goes away and something else happens. Right.

[57:09] Brent Black: That's the term. This term is thrown around a little too frequently for just anything surreal. But this one is fairly apt. It's very David Lynch in this image right here. Oh, yes. Yes. Because it just makes you go, is that what they meant? And you get you can stare at it longer and longer, and it doesn't make more sense, but it is equally compelling.

[57:31] Andrew DeWolf: Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Why the Nazi imagery, Brent?

[57:35] Brent Black: Well, shit, I don't know. Jesus Christ. And the thing is, they introduced the little general guy as a potato chip. Ike, so let's get this straight. You're telling me America is addicted to potato chips with that weird looking like crackled, burnt skin guy. The Paul brothers are at it again. Ostensibly ostensibly on a commercial burger chips.

[58:08] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah. It's just like what I and and I mean, it's just difficult, y'all. But like it is very Nazi, Nazi, Nazi imagery. Or are they going for Soviet imagery?

[58:19] Brent Black: No, I think kind of what I got. I think it's the Eagles on the building. Yeah, the Eagles are Nazi. And the term undesirable that Lady X says that just make you go, whoa. The lines of tanks, though, in like the that sort of that reminded me of like Soviet imagery. There's definitely some of that like autocratic, like, you know, Red China or North Korean, like, you know, like military parade. There is that vibe to it for sure.

[58:50] Andrew DeWolf: But I just think like the outfits they have them in. And I don't know to me and also the way that they do that, like goose step, that's a little bit more of like a drill, a drill team doing a goose X X jump combined with the the goose step.

[59:08] Brent Black: Yes. And and also the the branding of Brand X is shockingly similar to X dot com.

[59:16] Andrew DeWolf: I was just going to say that. It's like I it's like he literally watched the movie and took it out.

[59:22] Brent Black: Yeah, it's like, wow. Yeah, it's the same. It's the same font. It's like, wow, it is very, very bizarre.

[59:31] Andrew DeWolf: I was just so enthralled by the conversation. I'm sorry. I'm not even trying to jump in here. I was just so like, OK, keep it going because this is fascinating.

[59:41] Brent Black: I guess we got to talk about the sexism. The we have lead character Sunshine, Happiness, Goodness, Cat Lady, Twitch, my ugly women, though.

[59:50] Andrew DeWolf: That's just evil, bro.

[59:56] Brent Black: Yeah, she couldn't have just been bad. She couldn't have just been inside Christopher Lloyd. She had to look like a Cronenberg monster underneath it all. It wasn't even just her, too, because there's another ugly woman that it's like the movie is like they it's they're meant to be ugly. I'm not just saying that.

[1:00:16] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah, that's the key to Banana Lady.

[1:00:19] Brent Black: Wait, are you talking about the bad guy? The one who's like, I'll kill you. I want you to be bad.

[1:00:28] Andrew DeWolf: Like, oh, yeah, lady.

[1:00:30] Brent Black: Oh, yeah. I forgot about her. Is a comedy legend. Totally wasted, totally wasted. And like, what is Daredevil Dan's best way to try to stop her offering her to possibly date like maybe will date it? It's just it's it's not just very of its time. Like, it's worse than of its time, unfortunately.

[1:00:55] Andrew DeWolf: And by the way, she is she is credited as I think that her mascot concept is supposed to be like a lunch lady.

[1:01:03] Brent Black: Yeah. Yeah, she's a lunch lady.

[1:01:06] Andrew DeWolf: Yes. But also a Nazi. Serving up, serving up bigotry and atrocities every day with a big old ladle. Get rid of those undesirables. The enemy within, you know what I'm saying?

[1:01:22] Brent Black: You know, the enemy within the supermarket. You know, maybe this movie is smarter than I think. You know, X.com promoting a bunch of Nazis like it's it's prophetic. This is the Nostradamus of terrible, shitty animated movie. You know, we live in a country that apparently hates women. So maybe this maybe this movie is more apt nowadays because this movie also hates women.

[1:01:47] Andrew DeWolf: Well, Sunshine Goodness is fine.

[1:01:50] Brent Black: No, she's boring. And like, also, she's also 14. And I'm a teenage girl in the movie full of the dumbest shit. The name Sunshine Goodness. Like, like, doesn't it feel like at certain points somebody along the way was like, this will be an ironically funny way to do a thing or an ironically funny name for a thing. But the irony gets totally lost. Like, there's just so many cooks in this kitchen.

[1:02:18] Andrew DeWolf: And it's like some of the lines are funny, but it seems like nobody in the pipeline understood how to make them like how to frame it.

[1:02:27] Brent Black: So they just seem super dumb. I don't think Sunshine Goodness, even if it's ironic, is it's like not good enough if it's a joke. But I don't know. And also the idea that like the essence of the addictive chemical in Brand X, whatever that is, is the essence of her goodness pulled out of her raisin.

[1:02:48] Andrew DeWolf: It's the it's the scent of a 14 year old cat girl.

[1:02:52] Brent Black: Yeah, it warms my heart the way you love my raisins, tough guy. I wrote I wrote that quote down. It's like, what in the fuck? She could have been. She could have been a mascot of anything and warms my heart. How you love my antifreeze. But no, it's got to be antifreeze over this movie.

[1:03:14] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah, no kidding. I just had this image of her waving up for the past ten minutes.

[1:03:21] Brent Black: I will look. I'll say it's about the sexism. There's like different types of sexism as a person that's watched a lot of movies that are mildly sexist for most of my life. You know, I tolerate it at this point. It's more like it's sexist. Whatever. All most movies are sexist. This movie fucking broke me.

[1:03:39] Andrew DeWolf: It had all the types of sexism.

[1:03:41] Brent Black: It had the weird sexism, had the overly sexy sexism. It had the boring Mary Sue sexism. It has all the sexism. Somehow someone gets fridge like, oh, yeah, it's great. Like, yeah, every type of sexism you can think of. Like Christopher Nolan saw this, took notes and made an inception.

[1:04:11] Andrew DeWolf: I think that Brent, did we at least cover all the big things you wanted to hit with this?

[1:04:17] Brent Black: I think so. As you know, I always take notes. We talked about the I think we touched on the fact that there was just way too much shitty wordplay. Like wordplay is fun. But like if there's too much of it and it's bad.

[1:04:31] Andrew DeWolf: Frankly, my dear, I don't give a spam.

[1:04:33] Brent Black: Oh, my God. Are those melons real? There was a lot of movie quotes, too.

[1:04:38] Andrew DeWolf: Like you did. Yes, quite a few.

[1:04:40] Brent Black: And I like to butter your muffin. They're all an IMDb, by the way. I am not going to get them from memory. They're all like ruined society for a very long time. And we're still feeling the ramifications.

[1:04:51] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah. And some of them are just like, what? And like, I don't know, like some of them, I could go, OK, this could be the worst joke in a good movie like this. Like, holy chips, it's not great. But it could have been in like a B minus DreamWorks movie that still made money.

[1:05:09] Brent Black: But like, it's basically the best one among the best ones in this movie. That is really not good.

[1:05:16] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah. But like your best is a B minus.

[1:05:19] Brent Black: Oh, yeah. Yeah. I just I mean, I'm just scrolling through and it just seems like we've touched on everything. I just feel like there was something interesting here and there was something to explore and it just got so overcomplicated to the extent that there could be an allegory to the real world. They completely lost that with the exobytes.

[1:05:41] Andrew DeWolf: What are the exobytes in the real world? What is any of this? What does it represent? The cars that you see driving around in the first opening credit sequence. What are they? What are they? What's the sewer manhole cover in a grocery store? Imaginary mascot city. What is it, Andrew?

[1:06:02] Brent Black: It frankly, the transition between the real world and the city is probably the most poorly executed like element because it just never makes sense.

[1:06:14] Andrew DeWolf: No, like you have human characters entering the city world. You have the city people leaving. You have the the idea that if the food goes bad, the Ike's die.

[1:06:27] Brent Black: Right. Which doesn't make any fucking real sense. But they can also like the other way around. The food gets recalled by the store. The Ike's die. Not the food expires. The Ike's die. That would make a lot of sense. But also, if you're watching it with closed captions, you find out from the Italian moose guy that if an Ike dies in the grocery store world, their product spoils or spirals, as he says, in the.

[1:06:57] Brent Black: Also doesn't make sense. Like it all just like, like spontaneously goes bad. It's a terrible set of rules to the extent that they even have any.

[1:07:06] Andrew DeWolf: No, exactly. Like it should have been. Yeah, it would have been better if it had like Wreck-It Ralph is like similar in that it has like sort of the same kind of like, well, the characters are from the games and they meet up in this like city world afterwards and they hang out. Except for there, it makes sense. Like they have a set of rules. Like if you go to a different game and you die, you don't respawn. So your game losing, then it goes under or whatever. Like here, it just they just it's nonsense. It's like, oh, well, if the icon dies, the food goes bad. How does that make sense? That doesn't make any fucking sense.

[1:07:45] Brent Black: Right. And like in the city, the city being the grocery store, but it's like separate like, oh my God, it's so convoluted and awful. It really makes me appreciate Cars in hindsight.

[1:08:00] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah, Cars. We were really hard on Cars. Well, I was so hard on Cars because it has genuinely terrible world building. But it's like compared to this, it's like it's coherent.

[1:08:10] Brent Black: It's coherent, at least like. Yeah, I don't get why Cars have tongues, but I get like car how Cars travel places. Yeah. Like there's roads, Cars go on roads and some of the buildings are car size so that they can drive into them. OK, that makes sense.

[1:08:26] Brent Black: Well, made her definitely voted for Trump. Now, what is our overall thoughts and our cheese ratings? Brent, as our first guest, I'm going to let you start off.

[1:08:36] Brent Black: Well, my overall thoughts are that it has a spark of potential that was not just wasted, but stomped on and shat on like a little bag of potato chips. That's right. With and just and just debuted with a muted hour. But the cheese rating, I would say, is definitely weasel tea cheese.

[1:09:04] Andrew DeWolf: Oh, it's chisel, isn't it?

[1:09:07] Brent Black: Or chisel the chisel chisel tea weasel. What does he say at the end? He's like chisel tea weasel. Oh, no. Best or something. I was something like that. I was just trying to incorporate his name as a cheese.

[1:09:20] Brent Black: Oh, because I because you would think that maybe chisel is like a cheese mascot, even though who the fuck would eat cheese with that thing on the cover? But like that was my guess was that he was a cheese weasel. A cheese. Oh, my God.

[1:09:36] Brent Black: Oh, God. Yeah. All right, Brent. That was I really didn't want anyone to take that away from you. So that's kind of why I make you go first. Um, Andrew, you know, I think any spark of potential that you may see in this, I like I know the comparison to Sausage Party is kind of obvious, but like, I feel like it is just kind of the same premise, but done to like a decent like it's not I don't think Sausage Party is a good movie, but it's like it uses the potential that is in this to do something, you know, like there's it's like a coherent movie that is like makes logical sense, even if it is just like a raunchy comedy.

[1:10:20] Andrew DeWolf: I don't know this movie Food Fight. Wow. Wow. Awful. Just very little redeeming. And we didn't really talk about it because there's just so much to say. But it is a deeply boring movie as well.

[1:10:35] Brent Black: Yeah, you get you get to about 35 to 40 minutes in and then you start realizing that, oh my God, it's not going to end anytime soon, is it? Yeah. It's funny. It's funny at the beginning. But then it really like the laughs die out. And it's just it just keeps fucking going. And you're just like, oh my God. Oh my God.

[1:10:59] Brent Black: Cheese rating. I'm going to give it a I'm going to give it a Cheeto that fell on the floor in the grocery store and rolled under the it rolled under the counter or whatever, and no one's seen it for like five years. But then you find it and you eat it. That's the that's it.

[1:11:17] Andrew DeWolf: That is a masterful cheese rating. Got to say, wow. Liz, you're up next.

[1:11:23] Liz Esten: OK, I I'm not going to give specific information, but I work at a grocery store.

[1:11:31] Andrew DeWolf: What? Like, unbelievable. I thought you did podcast for a living.

[1:11:35] Liz Esten: I work at a grocery store when I'm not doing this. So this movie broke me on a lower level because my God, you know what happens after a grocery store closes? I cry. Not it's not a city of food mascots come in. A bunch of other people come in who work till four a.m. and do grocery stuff like that. No, but they live in the city.

[1:11:59] Brent Black: Yeah, I should check with my late night co-workers to see if they see any mascots running around.

[1:12:04] Liz Esten: Yeah, but you run into any cars on the busy city streets. But yeah, so our logic standpoint, this movie fucking broke me. It's deeply sexist, it's awful to look at. It's really boring. So bad. Also, it just reminded me of my job, which I'm like, oh, great. I just got home from work and now I'm watching a movie about a grocery store. That's another two hours of thinking about groceries. Um, but yeah, this movie sucks really bad. And it's very sex, uh, bad. So I'm going to give it expired vegan cheddar cheese.

[1:12:44] Brent Black: Oh, nice.

[1:12:46] Liz Esten: It's dumped in the shrink bin and no one likes. Yeah. Yeah, they're since it's mine turn now. I think I, I, I, I relinquish my time with a good governor to these children who saw Food Fight in theaters in Britain.

[1:13:06] Unknown speaker: About a dog that saved a girl called Sunshine.

[1:13:17] Unknown speaker: Who was your favorite character? The doggie and the squirrel.

[1:13:22] Unknown speaker: Doggie and the squirrel were our favorite. So, yeah, good film. We thought it was really funny. I like people ask because they kept on saying, you know, because it had a lot of action and it was funny.

[1:13:37] Unknown speaker: My favorite character was the weasel. Anything, you know, it's really the thing is, there are views were still pretty warm. Yeah. Yeah. He doesn't like this. That's really saying something.

[1:13:51] Brent Black: Yeah, I my favorite character was also the weasel, and it is about a dog that saves a girl. My cheese rating is easy cheese waffle.

[1:14:01] Andrew DeWolf: Oh, OK. Brent, you are one of the kindest and most generous individuals I've had the pleasure of meeting on the Internet. You have donated a lot of time and effort towards a lot of not just my stuff, but this podcast all together in the years I've known you. You are a good person. I am grateful to know you. Please promote your stuff so people can find you.

[1:14:23] Brent Black: Thanks. I was wondering where you were going with that, but I liked it. OK, so I am currently working on two big things. And one is a Star Trek parody musical called Con the Musical. And we premiered off Broadway. We then did our regional premiere in Texas. And you can check our stuff out at Con the Musical dot com, including demos of the songs and that playlist on YouTube of demos is growing as we move toward. Could it be an album? I don't know. Some collection of songs easier to get. But anyway, it's really funny and you don't have to be a Trekkie. It's just it's good music and it's a fun show. And it might be coming to a theater near you if you are an owner of a theater or otherwise can convince your local theater company to put a show on. We will be opening it up for licensing in a couple of weeks for amateur and professional production. And you can contact us through the contact form at Con the Musical dot com.

[1:15:23] Brent Black: Also, I am the co-creator of a game called Use Your Words, which is a lot like Jackbox, but different and in some ways better. And Use Your Words, too, is about to come out. So if you use Steam to get your games, you can go on Steam and you can wishlist Use Your Words, too. We hope to be coming out before the end of the year. We're really fun for parties. And I always give my own personal seal of quality guarantee for any purchase you make of a Con the Musical ticket or a copy of Use Your Words, too, and that is if you don't like it. I will personally PayPal you back what you paid for it. That is how much I believe in these things. Con k h a n, although I have purchased and redirected the URL of the way that most people spell it, k h a n the musical dot com.

And also get on Steam and check out Use Your Words. And if you want to hear me and Andrew basically just gush about how great Con the Musical is, we did do a previous episode on it on our previous podcast, Musicals with Cheese with Brent, where we get to talk all about that. So if you want to dive deeper into that without seeing the show quite yet, because it's not all fully available. That's a good gateway in also played. Use Your Words one on our page. We have. Yeah. On our most recent Patreon meetup, we did play. Use Your Words to the beta. So. Oh, yeah. Right. Right. Hopefully I'll be there for the next one.

[1:16:52] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah, I hope so. It was a good time. Thank you guys for listening. Please follow us on all the social medias, all the blue skies, the threads, whatever becomes the new Twitter. We'll be there at the cheese wheel cast. No, no brand X brand. And please let us know how you're liking the show. Leave us a review, rate, review all that bullshit. Our keeper of the cheese is Juliet Antonio, and they do some writing for ASMR. And Brent, I always like to give a little ASMR greeting to them if you wouldn't mind doing the honors this time.

[1:17:27] Brent Black: You despise me, don't you?

[1:17:32] Andrew DeWolf: As perfect as it can be. Thank you to the Broadway Podcast Network for having us on the platform and for not kicking us off for what I said about Avon Gorey's character. Anything else we have left to say before we wrap this baby on up?

[1:17:44] Andrew DeWolf: Oh, we got to spin the wheel for next week.

[1:17:47] Brent Black: Oh yeah. Oh my God. That's part of the gimmick of this fucking show.

[1:17:52] Andrew DeWolf: Yes. What musical are you reviewing next week? Spin the wheel.

[1:17:55] Brent Black: Spin it. I love musicals. Wait a second, Brent. You actually called it.

[1:18:00] Andrew DeWolf: What you did. We don't spin the wheel for next week because next week we are covering the Wicked movie as promised.

[1:18:09] Brent Black: Motherfucker. We bring musicals with cheese makes a return musicals. The cheese is back.

[1:18:15] Andrew DeWolf: Wow. One week only. We are returning to format of Musicals with Cheese to talk about one half of a movie, really. They should just call it. They should just call it Wick. You know what I mean? Like www.wicked.com.

[1:18:30] Brent Black: Yeah, big wreck for me. Andrew, please, please tell the story.

[1:18:36] Andrew DeWolf: Oh yeah. So I work with I work with toys, not those kind of toys. The normal kind of toys. But the Wicked toys, they they drop and we were shipping them out and we got a recall notice because apparently they printed the wrong website. They printed www.wicked.com on all their packaging. If you don't know, the website you need to go to is Wicked Movie dot com because Wicked.com has some other stuff on it that children shouldn't see, especially children who buy Barbies for Wicked.

[1:19:15] Brent Black: Did you steal me one?

[1:19:17] Andrew DeWolf: I did see one in person today, but they're very insistent that we send all of them back. So I'm going to see what I can do because I thought about I should have just grabbed one, but I want that. I want one good collector's item for sure. It's like the VHS of Little Mermaid with the dick on it.

[1:19:34] Brent Black: Oh yeah. One of my co-workers rushed to the store to try to buy one because he knew that they were going to go like huge on eBay. But they were they were already like pulled off the shelves. Like no one's no one's selling them. So it's it's a rough life, dude.

[1:19:49] Andrew DeWolf: Yeah. I'm what's worth being alive if I don't have the porn Wicked doll. I can't wait for Brandex to take over my job when I go go into work.

[1:20:00] Brent Black: Yeah. Don't go into it later. You'll be hit by one of the Brandex cars. We'll see you next time on the Cheese Wheel podcast. Bye.
