The US premiere of 300 Paintings, created and performed by Sydney-based comedian and visual artist Sam Kissajukian was an EPIC Success for Sam and the Vineyard!. This captivating production is a deeply personal and wildly creative exploration of Sam’s five-month-long manic bipolar episode, during which he created 300 large-scale paintings, unknowingly documenting his mental state. 300 Paintings is a hilarious, heart-wrenching, and visually stunning retelling of the intersection between mental health and art, exploring how one can sometimes save the other.
Fresh off a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it won the prestigious Lustrum Award for Outstanding Show, this highly anticipated production played a limited engagement at Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15th Street) from November 12 through December 15, 2024.
How did it go? What was it? What is next for this show? We find out here on the Roundtable! Shoutout to the Vineyard for another amazing year of programming and fun!
