The new short, A Legend is Hatched: I Become Famous... in My Own Mind, that was recently accepted into Dances with Films film festival in New York is the next fun comedy series. Mark My Words!

Created by Victoria Myers and directed by Madeline Stephenson, A Legend is Hatched: I Become Famous... in My Own Mind is designed to be the first in a series that follows the misadventures of a hopeful TV-Star-to-Be as she tries to fulfill her great ambitions of having her own television show. Along the way, she meets a group of oddballs who also have show business dreams. In this world, everyone just wants their time in the spotlight, a chance to be seen, and to make a friend. A lightly absurdist and very screwball comedy that has its roots in old Hollywood, classic sitcoms, and golden age musical theatre, the first episode features Broadway’s Mike Iveson (What The Constitution Means To Me).

A Legend is Hatched started as a comedic newsletter by Myers. The newsletter, which is ongoing, was launched on Substack in 2021. Myers is also founded the theater publication The Interval, which ran from 2014 through 2019 and covered female and female-identifying performers, directors, designers, writers, composers, musicians and choreographers working in the theater. Her work has been seen in the New Yorker, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Review of Books, and more.
