Laird Mackintosh is a Canadian actor and singer best known for his roles in Broadway musicals such as The Phantom of the Opera, Jekyll & Hyde, and Mary Poppins. He is also known for his performances in regional productions of musicals such as Titanic, Private Lives, and My One and Only.
Mackintosh was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in 1971. He began performing in community theater as a teenager, and went on to study at the Stratford Festival's Birmingham Conservatory for Classical Theatre Training. After graduating, Mackintosh moved to Toronto to pursue a career in theater.
In 1997, Mackintosh made his Broadway debut in the musical Titanic. He went on to star in the Broadway productions of Jekyll & Hyde (2013) and Mary Poppins (2014). In 2017, Mackintosh began playing the role of The Phantom in the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera. He became the longest-running Phantom in Broadway history on April 16, 2023, when the show closed.
