Qween Jean, a trailblazing Black transgender costume designer, has made an indelible mark on the Broadway landscape, seamlessly blending her artistry with activism to amplify the voices of marginalized communities. Born and raised in New York City, Jean's passion for theater blossomed early, leading her to hone her design skills and pursue a career in the vibrant world of Broadway.

Jean's breakthrough moment came in 2022 when she crafted the captivating costumes for On Sugarland, an Off-Broadway production that garnered critical acclaim. Her designs, infused with vibrant hues and bold patterns, perfectly captured the essence of the play's Southern Gothic setting.

Jean's artistry continued to shine in Black No More (2022), a provocative Off-Broadway production that explored racial tensions in America. Her costumes, imbued with historical references and symbolic elements, added depth and complexity to the narrative.

In 2023, Jean's talents graced the stage of The New Group's The Seagull/Woodstock, NY, a reimagining of Chekhov's classic play. Her costumes, seamlessly blending modern and period elements, reflected the play's exploration of themes of love, loss, and longing.
