His breakthrough performance, however, arrived in 2015 when he portrayed the endearing Adam Hochberg in the acclaimed production of An American in Paris. This role earned him his first Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical, showcasing his remarkable ability to blend emotional depth with musical prowess.
In 2016, Uranowitz continued to garner critical acclaim for his role as Mendel Weisenbachfeld in the revival of Falsettos. His heartfelt and nuanced performance as the neurotic psychiatrist earned him his second Tony nomination, solidifying his reputation as a master of character-driven roles.
