The original 1970 production of Company was nominated for a record-setting 14 Tony Awards and won six. Company was among the first book musicals to deal with contemporary dating, marriage, and divorce. In a series of vingettes, Company, follows single Bobby (Bobbie, gender swapped to a woman, in the 2021 revival) interacting with their married friends, who throw a party for their 35th birthday.
